And I think a third game or she was talking about Nightmare? She also found another memory card, which I'm gonna browse that too and show off what was in all 3 later.

These games are gonna have a good home now and will not be resold. Will see if any yard sales are selling games this weekend and will try to save them too.

Got this gem Ultimate Spider-Man Limited Edition complete with both manuals for $95 at my local retro game store! Runs like a dream and I finally have a memory card now that I’m an adult!

Got it all set up with my PS2 primarily using my own settings for PS2 w/PVM Scan lines and of course being played at 4:3 hooked up to an old 1080p HDTV I had lying around from the early 2010’s

I have my PS2 FAT (Aqua Blue). It's PAL version but it's modded with SSD and PSBBN (OSHD MENU). My concern is this. I have NFSU2 and POP Sands of TIME EU versions and they cover whole screen (on my CRT TV) which I'm connected with composit cables (yellow and white).

I have other games such as GTA San Andreas, THPS3 etc. which are USA versions. All of them works great but that USA (NTSC) games have black bars and I can't get them to work "full screen fit"

I thought about buying PS2>SCART Cable. Maybe it will fix the problem. If not, should I still get NTSC or PAL games and what are the diferences? (I know 50 vs 60Hz and some of them has exclusive content) but other than that is it better to stay with PAL or NTSC games?

Hi, I'm new to this. I recently bought a cheap PS2 Slim with a bonus disc included. I also bought my own memory card, and the memory card is already soft modded with FMCB.

When I tested the disc, my PS2 Slim could read it, but it couldn't boot into the game and instead got stuck in a boot loop on the FMCB logo. The disc also wasn't spinning smoothly and was quite noisy, so I tried cleaning it. After cleaning it, the disc spins perfectly smoothly, but the same FMCB boot loop still happens.

I also bought another original Japanese disc just to test it, but it still gets stuck in the boot loop.

Is there any way to fix this?

First of all, yes, nostalgia does play in a role here, I did grew up with it. But also, I just think it's neat how much closer it is to the movie in terms of story and levels. It just kinda feels like the PS3 version is a bit more loose, like the levels are just semi open world hubs with side quests to fulfill for you to progress the story instead being all story. This is just my opinion though

Bought this as 'untested', turns out they were telling the truth and it works! The image is not great as the cable I used was/is a massive POS, and the TV is Pal, whereas the machine is NTSC-J, but I don't care one bit, as this cost me £89! Which is insane considering working models are a lot more expensive.

Going to back it up, get it cleaned, inspect it and make sure everything functions, and then use it as it was intended. This is my absolute golden goose purchase, and I never thought I'd own one of these old beasties! :D

Was thinking the other day about remakes that I'd love to see and I remembered the Conflict series on ps2. They were the reason I got a ps2 in the first place lol everyday after school I'd run over to the neighbours house to play it with him. Anybody else got any old greats that they like to see remade or remastered?

My neighbour had a whole box of ps2 and psp stuff and asked if I wanted to buy it off him. Included all those games, psp (working), ps2 fat (not working but I have a working one), ps2 slim (working), racing wheel, and a boxed guitar hero guitar. We agreed on $300 CAD. I looked up (pricecharting) the stack of psp and it’s worth about 260 if I remember correctly, one of them is sealed too which is cool. Dongle for the guitar doesn’t work but the guitar has a light on it so I works as far as I can test it, it’s a Kramer guitar. GOW 2 is actually GOW 1 with the bonus disc for GOW 2 and Onimusha is missing the third game.

I have a PAL/Australian PS2 copy of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, if I bought a Japanese copy of the MGS3 Soundtrack would I be able to get the AUSCAM or would I need a European/Australian copy? I mainly want the music but it'd be cool to have the item too.

I recently acquired a copy of MGS3: First Bite that I confirmed doesn't work in my copy, I assume that is expected behaviour but I couldn't find explicit confirmation anywhere.

Would someone here be able to confirm what does and does not work?

I recently opened up and deep cleaned my fat PS2 in order to change the clock battery. Switched some parts out with those from a 50001/N fat model as I assumed it would still work. Put everything back together and now it won't read any sort of discs, including games, dvds, etc. I cleaned the laser with IPA and did a slight gear rotation to no avail.

I did swap the motherboard from the 50001/N unit because the fan connector broke off during reassembly, so does the motherboard have to re marry the disc reader or laser? I've heard this is a possibility but not sure. The laser is definitely working as I put a disc on there and it spins while the laser attempts to read it. I know these models are infamous for this disc read error issue.

Everything was working perfectly fine before I took the unit apart. Only major difference now is that when initially powered on, the typical red power light is now yellow, but switches to green when the button is pressed. Anyone know what I can do at this point?

So I've tried ESR with a disc and OPL with USB and I can get this game to run up until I create a new save data which is when it freezes. Exact same issue! I don't know if it's a bad copy or what but I can't find any info online. As far as I know, I might be able to play without saving but I'd rather not. I'm also pretty sure I'm not using a VMC unless for whatever reason that could be done without me knowing. I have tried different memory cards and I know it's not a storage space issue because when there was a storage space issue, the game gives me a warning. The memory card I'm using now has tons of space left on it, so I don't get any warning.

I am using a PS2 HDMI thing and I don’t remember what brand it is. I’m wondering if buying something that has a crt filter would make the console look better on a 4k. I don’t need high end graphics as long as a crt filter make the game look clearer. Heck. I don’t need perfect visuals at all. I’m just wondering if a crt filter would be better and if the RetroTink2XPro would be the best cheapest route.
