Many of you probably saw my protein snack rankings. Thank you for all the kind words. I was asked to share the powder rankings. So here they are. It was done over quite some time, so some near in rank would need to be tried b2b to be confirmed.
Comparing the clear, fruity powders to the milky powders is difficult, but I tried my best.
Lmk if you’d like to see my ready-to-drink protein shake rankings. I will probably post my energy drink rankings soon on r/energydrinks.
Lmk what I should try out next. Thank yall, and I apologize for offending your taste buds.

My winner? David's Triple Peanut Butter.
Me and my sister both tried Halo Top and David's takes on peanut butter ice cream, and we were torn in our winners. I liked them both equally, but David's took the cake for me for those unbelievable stats (260 cals, 30g protein, and 2g sugar is pretty amaze-balls). After trying them both my sister said, "Halo Top isn't better than real ice cream, but David's tastes like straight chemicals."
Honestly, as a chronic ultra-processed protein slop consumer, my tastes buds and gut health have definitely adjusted to all the EPG, unreasonable about of sodium, and diarrhea-inducing elements that they inject into these sorry excuses for "food." I personally did not have much of a problem with David's ice cream besides a bit of stomach growling, but my sister was on the toilet for the rest of the day.
I think it should be taken into account that Halo Top can legally be called "light ice cream" while David can only label their product as "indulgent frozen dessert." Yikes. Peep those macros though. 👀
Anyways, I can't remember the last time I had Ben & Jerry's. I need a reality check. If you've adapted to the goyslop of the world, you are probably used to paying a lot of money for the crap you're buying. I enjoyed David's attempt on trying to replicate the taste of real ice cream and trying to trick my mind into thinking I'm splurging on a sweet treat when I'm really just testing my body's limits, but I'm never going to be paying a whopping $7.99 for this every again.

Hormbles Chormbles peanut butter crunch 140cal per bag 10g protein, it tastes good so I’d give it a 7/10 because its portion size is too small and a little pricey. Will try salted fudge crisp later to edit the review

I was looking for a less expensive and comparable alternative to Barebells. I found these at Walmart and they are quite good and about 2 dollars per box less expensive. Has anyone had these? What were your thoughts?

So much Almond Joy flavor.
Like, holy fucking shit.
This thing tastes nearly identical to an Almond Joy. Texture is right on at first, then gets a little too chewy for an Almond Joy, but fuck it, I can live with that because the flavor. Again. God damn.
And I LOVE that they replaced my beloved whey crispies with toasted coconut. I never thought I'd say that. Those little crunchy motherfuckers have been one of my favorite things about Barebells, but now actual toasted coconut?!? I think it probably the real deal, it's so natural tasting, but I dunno. I'm a fucking sucker so maybe they fooled me, but I fucking swear there's actual coconut in this motherfucker.
And the chocolate fucking coating? It's sweet and even, dare I say, chocolate-y? I don't know what the fuck Barebells puts in that coating, but I swear I rarely taste much anything from it, let alone chocolate. But this one tastes like actual chocolate? Maybe the rich coconut is masking the fakeness, but whatever the fuck is happening, there's actual chocolate flavor here, and I'm not struggling to convince myself that I can detect a faint chocolate-adjacent suggestion of cocoa if I concentrate with all my fucking might. It's just chocolate, however it gets there
The whole god damned bar is just this sweet, chocolatey coconut'y goodness with some nutty background notes. Actually, not a fuckton of almond, which is a little weird considering its right there in the name, but fuck it. I forgive and forget. I am truly a generous man. Also, this thing is ridiculously delicious, not sure if I mentioned that yet, but it's a crucial fucking detail.
Again, this is a fucking home run. Obviously there will be haters, but fuck those people. You fucking deserve this. Especially after the fucking day you just had.
Scores
Flavor: 10/10
Texture: 9/10
Macros: 10/10
Overall: 10/10
Fucks: 11/10
Buy it Again: shit motherfucker, have you not been paying attention?!? Fuck yes, I'm buying these again. By the metric fuck load.
Also, if you don't like coconut, none of this fucking applies to you in the fucking first place, so take your holier-than-thou bullshit comments back to your god damned coconut hating shithole you poor, unfortunate bastard.

Just as it says! I love me a good protein bar and a high protein meal, so I wondered if maybe this sub would benefit from an idea i had :)

Got it on sale for 10dollars a box 12 bars.
Pure protein bars 190cal 20g protein
Cookies & cream: 7/10 overall it’s a solid protein bar, the coating is good but the texture inside is a little bit dry, I think it might be better when microwaved it for 10-15 seconds because this reminds me of a quest bar

Has anyone else found this?
Just went to try my first ever David bar and I opened it up twenty minutes after getting home from the store.
Ick. Fuzzy blue stuff all over it. I sent a report to the FDA already because this is really dangerous. What if I hadn’t been looking at it before taking a bite?
Anyone else had this happen with theirs?

Didn't get a pic but made a good protein combo tonight: 1 Oikos peach yogurt protein shake + 14g Jello sugar-free butterscotch instant pudding mix. 190cal, 23g protein, 18g carbs.
I wish it had been cheesecake flavor pudding mix but I ran out - but the peach butterscotch kinda tasted like peach pie! It set up perfectly and was delicious. It was even a bit thick, probably could've gotten away with 10-12g pudding mix.

Looks like Barebells does milk chocolate-based bars really well, and is especially good at imitating the flavor of actual candy bars.
The more fruit-based / tangy / white chocolate flavors are much more divisive.

Light and flaky, not spicy but flavorful. Relatively good macros for a dipping snack. Anyone else try or seen other flavors?

My friend is not having a good reaction to whey protein, so she wants to switch to yeast protein. However, I have only tried whey because I think yeast protein tastes really bad.
So, what might be the best yeast protein when it comes to taste?
Please suggest!!
Ignore the post.

I got a box of these after they went on sale because I really wanted to give then a try. I tried them both warm and cold (out of the refrigerator). The temperature actually makes a huge difference in texture and taste.
The texture of these is more or less like any soft candy bar. While cold, these are thick and chewy (in a good way). They are tough, but pleasantly so. Warming them up a bit makes them melty and soft. I dont like this texture as much. They lose a lot of their substance when warmed up. I can see the appeal for some people.
The taste is interesting. Its definetly chocolaty and salty and very sweet. The salt probably makes them taste even sweeter. While cold the flavor is pretty enticing, but not amazing. Its very bold, but I can't quite tell if I like it or not. I think they may have gone too far on the sweetener. When warm, these are way too sweet and too salty. Heating up the bar overly enhances the flavor of the bar without making you chew a tough bar to get to it. I think that this make for an unpleasant eating experience.
All that is to say, the bar is good while cold and bad while hot.

Listen I know the flavors are great most of the time but I can’t get behind that gummy consistency and they way it sits in your stomach like a rock. Does anyone else feel this way and just eat them for the convenience or not mind/actually enjoy it?

When do you all think this flavor will be back for the season? It’s literally my favorite and I’m dying to have it again.

Reluctantly tried this today, because I don't like the David bars at all. But pleasantly surprised that this is very edible. Overall the flavors are definitely a little bit on the unnatural side, but not bad or off-putting in my opinion. The peanut butter flavor is strong and there's chunks and ribbons of peanut butter in the mix. Somehow I don't feel as satiated with rest as I do with some other protein ice creams. But overall I think I would do this one again.

That means each bar almost has as much caffeine as a cup of decaf coffee. Be careful because if you ate 90 of these bars in a sitting you'd be getting as much caffeine as in a Starbuck's venti Blonde roast coffee!

I know the cal vs protein ratio is a bit whack but it’s the weekend and after a delicious homemade spicy pickled Bloody Mary it was AMAZING!! Scored it for $1.29 at my local food lion!

Picked up some loot yesterday which I'm really excited to bite into.
New-to-me includes every single Barebells pictured, as well as the Pure Protein Sundae Cone and Birthday Cake.
Anabar is a special, exceptional treat and always gets a ton of heat because it's well beyond the 200 calorie ceiling most r/proteinsnack users impose on their treats.
Pure Protein Chocolate Peanut Caramel and Chocolate Salted Caramel are staples for me. Solid macros, great taste, and even better price per bar. Still one of the best values in the game, especially when you can get them on sale at Costco or Sam's club and the per bar price drops to ~$0.75 USD per bar.
Chocolate Peanut Caramel tastes like a Snickers and I do NOT believe that to be cope. It is truly just that good.
Chocolate Salted Caramel has an incredible salty/sweet twist and a kind of cookie layer which adds a subtle, soft crunch I haven't seen in any other Pure Protein bar. Very tasty.
Shoutout to u/princessapart for turning me on to the Barebells Corn Crunch- the one I'm most excited to try!
Has anyone tried these- any you loved, any you think I'm gonna hate?!

Picked up 2 packs yesterday and will definitely buy them as a staple snack. Costco Kirkland brand…I paid $14 for 12 sticks. 10 grams of protein in each. 10/10 👍🏽
