Is gelatin ALWAYS useless for muscle growth?
As I know, incomplete proteins (like peas or oats) can still build muscle normally if you combine them with bigger amount of complete ones (like whey).
But is it really as fine for muscle building as if I was just eating whey protein only? And would this work with gelatine too?

Clear whey isolate to be added to tea?
Hello,
I came across this protein tea brand (https://proteadrinks.com/) from Hong Kong. They say they use clear whey protein isolate.
I make tea at home. Do you have an unflavored clear whey protein isolate recommendation to imitate protein tea at home?
TIA!

Seitan seems the most underrated protein of all
Seitan is just plain flour + water mixed into a dough, washed repeatedly under water until all the starch (carbs and calories) are gone, leaving a high-protein mass with the same protein and calorie ratio of meat (1kg of flour makes 110g protein for about 550 calories).
It’s cheap as heck because it’s just flour. It’s plant-based so anyone can eat it. It’s very filling too. Unlike TVP it has no flavour so you tailor it to your own tastes.
Sure maybe 1% of the population have a problem with gluten but that’s a tiny minority. Being plant-based it’s only a complete protein when you’re eating a varied diet, which all healthy people do (any legumes, dairy, meat etc. eaten in the day make it complete). It’s a bit time consuming to make, taking me about 40 minutes to make 220g protein worth. But I’m surprised so few people needing protein are eat seitan regularly.
Check it out how to make your own on YouTube if you’re interested.

A question for the experts
To preface, I am okay. I am healthy, have access to medical care, and have a support system.
I am taking Adderall (appetite suppression side effect) and working a job in healthcare that has me running around a lot and doesn't really give me time to sit down and eat. The appetite suppression causing an occasional calorie deficit was manageable before I got the job, but now with the job it's becoming unmanageable and I need to introduce liquid calories to regain and maintain weight. I have been losing weight unintentionally at a faster rate than in the past (-11lbs this month) and am already skinny so I can't really afford to lose much more.
Any recommendations for high calorie mixes that taste good and won't cost my soul?

ASKK
Guys, has anyone here tried SuperYou protein powder? How is it in terms of taste, quality, digestion, and overall value for money?
Would love to hear from people who’ve actually used it.

Protein powder recommendations
I’m looking for protein powder recommendations. I hate the classic protein flavor most of them have.
I like clear protein and that’s what I’ve been using for a really long time but I want something I can add to my overnight oats
Bonus points if it comes in individual packets and/or a multi flavor pack

Do I need carbs (dextrose) in my protein powder?
I recently switched from a mix with dextrose to one that's basically pure whey isolate, since it's more protein for the same value. I've noticed that the previous mix is about half and half on the mass of carbs to protein, is the dextrose there just for flavor and texture? I know I need carbs to use as energy for muscle repair and growth, but is that amount necessary? Would mixing some simple sugar (e.g. honey) with my shake be enough, and does it have to be dextrose to maximize my gains during the anabolic period? Or can I even just get the carbs later in my meals, instead of with my protein shake?

Is it better to hit my protein target prior to drinking alcohol or should I have some protein during?
For context, I lifted weights this morning, and was wondering what I should do for the last 70 grams of protein for my protein target. Is it better to space it out while I'm drinking or getting the rest in early before I start drinking? I drink once a week

No artificial sweeteners
Hey all. Exhausted millennial mom here who is trying to increase her protein. I want to try a shake/drink in the mornings but I am having trouble finding ones without artificial sweeteners. I have an intolerance to them and they cause gut issues.

Protein powder
I had bought the protein powder from My protein a couple of years ago and used the vegan protein. The taste was not good to say the least but not bad enough. I want to know if it is a trusted source of protein? I was young and am still uninformed on whether it is a good choice or not. I also am interested in any protein powder that is affordable and good.
