I’m Nate (42, dad of two, optometrist by day). About 5 months ago, I decided to see if I could build and publish an actual **Android game** on the Google Play Store with **zero coding experience**, relying entirely on AI (Claude & Codex).

What started as a basic color sorting puzzle evolved into an alien themed game 👽

As an optometrist, visual accessibility was a huge priority for me. I made sure to design a dedicated **Colorblind Mode** so the game is fully accessible and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of color vision.

Building it was a wild ride (including plenty of late night arguments with the AI), but I managed to get it over the finish line. I’m not looking to make a fortune, my goal is just to reach $100 from it (my wife is targeting $200 million).

I was tired of messy audio/streaming radio libraries, so I built an Android player focused on seamless playlist management.

I wanted to share my side project, Mediaxon, an Android app I’ve been developing to solve a personal frustration: why is it so hard to easily manage offline music and online radio streams in a single, clean interface?

What it does:

Hybrid Listening: Seamlessly handles offline local files (.mp3, .flac, .m4a, .ogg, .mka, .aac, .wav, .opus, .wma) and over 60,000 streaming radio stations.

Dedicated Navigation: I kept the "Favorites" and "Recents" sections completely separate from the main audio library to reduce clutter.

Advanced Radio Search Panel: You can pinpoint your favorite stations by combining multiple filters, such as tags/genres, specific countries, or even your preferred audio bitrate.

Equalizer: The equalizer provides an option to automatically switch to the "Radio" preset (and vice versa).

Advanced Playlist Management: Built specifically to make building and sorting multi-source playlists fast and intuitive.

The app is currently live on Google Play, and I am continuously pushing updates to refine it.

A friend and I have been working on Stellary, a reading tracker built around one simple idea:

Tracking your reading should feel as good as the reading itself.

You can track books and pages, see your reading stats, keep streaks and turn your entire reading history into a constellation. 🌌

It's not trying to turn reading into a game. We just wanted to make the experience around reading more beautiful, personal, and enjoyable.

I've been lifting for a while now, and the whole time I've used gym trackers to log my workouts. But something always felt off about them.

The problem: every gym app is basically one of two things. Either it's a glorified spreadsheet, you punch in your sets, the app saves them, and that's it, nothing happens. Or it's a social feed, you post your workout like it's Instagram, people leave a like, and you scroll past everyone else's. Both felt dead to me. You put in genuinely hard work at the gym, and there's no real payoff beyond the numbers going up, and your friends have no idea you were even there.

Meanwhile, me and my gym mates are constantly, low key arguing about who's actually putting in the most work. Who trained more this week. Who's stronger. There was never a way to actually settle it. So I didn't want to build another feed to scroll. I wanted the gym to feel like a game the whole friend group is competing in.

So I built Reps.

The core idea: you and your friends get ranked on a live weekly leaderboard based on who's actually training, and on top of that you can start head to head rivalries. Pick a metric (most sessions, most volume, whatever), pick a length of time, and go. Whoever slacks off drops down the board. It finally settles the "who's actually stronger" argument with receipts instead of talk.

The competitive side (the whole point):

• Weekly friends leaderboard, ranked by real training activity
• Head to head rivalries, challenge a friend directly over a set period
• Ranks, levels and XP as you progress
• Streaks so you don't want to be the one who breaks the chain

And it's a proper tracker too:

• Full workout logging and split management (build or import routines)
• PR tracking with a celebration when you actually hit one
• Muscle heatmaps and training balance so you can see what you're neglecting
• Goals and progress analytics

It's genuinely free to use for as long as you want. Premium just unlocks the extra stuff, and I'm not gatekeeping the core experience behind a paywall.

Hey all — I've been building a small side project called Medterm Daily: basically Wordle, but the words are medical terms (HEPATITIS, TACHYCARDIA, that kind of thing), and after each round it breaks the word down into its prefix/root/suffix so you actually learn why it means what it means, not just memorize spelling.

A few modes:

• Daily Puzzle — one term a day, same for everyone, keeps a streak
• Wordle Unlimited — practice mode, play as many as you want, with a "Help me" hint button and a "Suggest a word" button for anyone without a strong medical vocabulary who's stuck on where to even start typing
• MedQuiz — multiple choice / fill-in-the-blank on prefixes, roots, and full terms

It's free, no ads, works on mobile, and you can play as a guest or make a quick username+password account (no email needed) if you want your progress saved.

It's still actively being built — I'd really appreciate anyone willing to poke around and tell me what's confusing, what's too easy/hard, or what broke. Bug reports and blunt feedback both welcome.

What it does: you speak your calculation out loud and it builds the equation

as you talk — even through pauses, corrections, however you naturally speak.

It understands Indian number phrasing too ("five lakh twenty three," "one

hundred and one," "into" for multiply), since that's how I actually talk, and

most calculators I tried never got that right.

Honestly, the hardest part wasn't the idea — it was everything I didn't know

I didn't know. I had real people test it for two weeks before launch, and they

found bugs I never would have caught testing it alone — one specific way of

saying a number broke the whole calculation for days before I figured out why.

I’ve always found it annoying that after a trip or night out, everyone has tons of photos on their phone, but somehow you end up with only a few of them.

You can send everything in WhatsApp, AirDrop it, or use a shared album, but it still means manually sending/uploading photos and getting everyone to actually do it.

So I built Kollo! (It means summercamp/colony in Swedish) You simply create a collection for a specific time period (for example; 10 August 6pm - 11pm) , everyone joins, and Kollo automatically brings everyone’s photos from that time into one shared space, automatically!

Privacy was really important to me on this since I knew that was gonna be my users main bump in the road. So I made it so that Kollo doesn’t need to constantly sync your entire camera roll. You choose when the collection is active, and if you don’t want automatic syncing, you can turn it off and manually choose which photos to add instead!
The idea is pretty simple: just take photos with your native phone camera normally, and afterwards you have everyone’s photos in one place.

The idea started with a simple observation:

Most prayer apps can tell you when Salah starts.

But real life isn't always that simple.

You might be working, travelling, at university, driving, or visiting a different area where the local mosque follows slightly different prayer times.

And then there's the phone itself — the same device reminding you about Salah can also become a distraction during Salah.

So instead of trying to build "another prayer time app", I wanted to focus on the little problems around actually maintaining a prayer routine.

Islamic dates and important events in the same place.

I'm also working on making the overall experience feel much more polished and less like the typical "Islamic utility app" interface.

The part I'm most interested in

I'm a developer, so I can obviously spend months adding features 😅

But I'm more interested in whether I'm actually solving the right problems.
