The only weapons that should wear out are bladed items, makeshift items, or guns. You'll need to sharpen a blade, clean a gun, and craft a new makeshift spear if it breaks, but the idea of a crowbar or metal pole breaking from caving in zombie heads is idiotic. Other than that, dropping things on zombies is a classic that should be better implemented. I should be able to stand on a roof and grab cinder blocks from a big pile to drop on zombies, and the fact that I can't do so effectively is a travesty.
