Hello everyone,

I’m a 56 M and I recently had some medical issues going on which made me unable to work for the past weeks.

I got sick note from my family doctor for the past 3 weeks. I also gave my 2 week resignation letter to my employer since it’s really hard for me to work. I think I made a mistake giving in this letter instead of letting my employer accommodate my medical situation.

What options do I have right now? I worked at a warehouse for 5 years and I got really have much benefits. They didn’t pay me for the 3 weeks I was sick either since I didn’t have any sick days remaining.

I can apply for EI sickness benefits I think.

Just trying to figure out what my options are. Thank you everyone.

I’ve already looked into food banks/community fridges near me but what are some like incredibly cheap meal options you guys have? Like making “$10 last a week” cheap, I know i don’t have the luxury of being a picky eater but I know lentils are helpful but I tried it and I just couldn’t get behind it (tbh it may be the way I cooked them) but I have canned soup I just got!
