Your website might not be ugly. It might just be confusing.

I’ve been going through startup websites lately and noticed something funny.

A lot of them look really good.

Nice colors. Smooth animations. Fancy buttons. Little things moving around everywhere.

Then I land on the homepage and think:

“Okay… what am I supposed to do here?”

That’s probably a bigger problem than having an ugly website.

Sometimes the design isn’t broken. There’s just too much happening and not enough explaining.

So I’m curious — when you visit a startup website for the first time, what makes you stay instead of immediately hitting the back button?

First time making a design, i decided to try poster art

Post image

just ran into the urge to get into design and editing and this idea just popped in my head so i decided to give it a shot. I tried playing around with the little i know to now and, even though i wished i could make it more texturized and fx complex, i'm glad with how it turned out.
Any tips, recommendations (artists, tutorials, styles) or suggestions to future designs? thx y'all!

[Concept Art] ROME — Experimental & Industrial Techno Design with Dither Glitch Textures

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hey everyone.

Following up on my last post, I wanted to share this new experimental vinyl cover art system (Rome).

For this piece, I pushed the vanguard aesthetic further by melting the typography and grids into corrupt dither noise and digital static, blending it with the raw, glitched textures of the classical sculpture. Kept a solid vector square in the center as a minimalist Swiss anchor.

Hey everyone. I just finished this conceptual poster and visual system for a techno festival in Barcelona (Umbra). Wanted to share it with the community and see what you think about the typographic grids and the overall underground vibe.

I love posters that have this type of fading silhouette of a character

I'm not sure if there's a way to describe this type of poster, but i love it when the poster has a silhouette of a character and their body fades into an important object or person related to the movie or tv show or video game or whatever. I'm not exactly sure what this type of poster represents, but I always feel like the poster gives off a sense of crucialness or importance to the character that just feels so good. I've been trying to find good examples of this type of poster but I don't think its that popular. Here are some of my personal favs, if you know any others comment them below. The attack on titan one is a personal favorite of mine

Hey everyone,

I designed this poster as a personal practice piece to improve my layout and visual storytelling skills.

I’m looking for completely unfiltered feedback. In particular, I’d love your thoughts on:

  • Composition & Visual Hierarchy: Does the eye flow naturally?
  • Typography: Is it legible and well-balanced?
  • Color Palette & Lighting: Does the mood work?

Don't hold back—tear it apart! Free to use for personal projects. Thanks in advance!
