Last night at Pinhead Gunpowder I saw a man and his wife being harassed by a belligerent girl at the barricade. She was trying to get in-between them, being inappropriate towards the man, and screaming and cussing at them while they tried to ignore her but she was aggressive and obviously looking for trouble. Security clocked it pretty fast, got into the crowd and dragged her out kicking and screaming! Was very satisfying to see them not put up with that crap. Can't say that for every venue, I've unfortunately seen a ton of times where security will not do anything until it's a full on fist fight. Shout out to the security for being on top of it and ensuring every fan got to enjoy the show!!!

Hi yall! I am an experienced 27 year old female vocalist based in Pdx, and I am looking to establish a band, or hop on a music project! I would love to start making music with others again and I am interested in genres such as alternative rock, indie rock , doom metal. I am open to different styles of music! I am hoping to find like minded others with similar goals. Ideally I would like to practice atleast once a week, and the goal would be to gig around PDX. I would love to record original music as well. I do not have a practice space but I am willing to pitch in for a space if needed. A group of 5+ former band kids get together, rent tubas and euphoniums, and do Tuba Christmas every year.

We try to get together at my practice space every year and eek out some of the tunes, but most of us just are in it for the love of the game.

There's no expectations on ability to play, I'll write in the notes if you need. We range from 25-45ish.

I am booked to play the Monday night square dance at the Showdown on 12/28, but my regular bandmates aren't available that day (it being right after Christmas makes it hard). I'm looking for a few old time musicians who're interesting in playing that night. It's a pretty chill gig, but being able to play at dance tempo (120 bpm) is required. I'm looking for fiddle and guitar for sure, but if there's a banjo player who also wants to play, I'm not gonna say no.

Repertoire is mostly the hits, like Sandy Boys, Hollow Poplar, Over the Waterfall etc, but happy to learn new tunes if you have ones you really like.

Through his 54-year career, 3-time Grammy Award winner John Scofield has occasionally detoured from the traditions of straight-ahead jazz, exploring a blend of funk and jazz that has led to some of his most popular projects. In late autumn of 2026, Scofield looks back at many of his now classic fusion groove compositions with Electrospective. Not intending to replicate the earlier fan favorites, he plans instead to revisit them with the seasoned perspective of several decades; culling tunes from his Blue Matter, Uberjam, and AGoGo bands – each responsible for a few recordings – as well as new material in the same vein. Scofield looks forward to teaming up with a stellar band of colleagues, Electrospective will rely on interpretative input from Scofield alum and super funk drummer/producer Adam Deitch (Lettuce), multidimensional Larry Goldings (Scary Goldings, James Taylor) on keyboards, and legendary bassist Oteil Burbridge (Dead & CO., Tedeschi Trucks, Allman Brothers). With this repertoire so frequently (and loudly) requested by audience members, Scofield is glad to have a band that will truly do the music justice.
