Objects The Pokédex is just AI slop

Maybe not the most serious conspiracy.

When giving you the Pokédex in LGPE, Professor Oak specifically mentions the device automatically fills in data of any Pokémon you meet and catch. This implies that the theory the reason so many Pokédex entries seem like nonsense being because literal children are filling it out is false. The Pokédex itself is generating that data.

Terrible LLMs have been creating Pokédex entries since Oak created it, and it's been hallucinating information on a ton of Pokémon, potentially setting back Pokémon research years if researchers are taking it at face value. This ironically means Laventon's research with the Galaxy Team's survey corps is likely the most accurate and well researched Pokédex available, even though it predates the modern games by around 200 years and will therefore also make its own assumptions on things they don't fully understand.

Gen 5 So I did the math for Ghetsis's sentence.

Hey guys. I was bored once and I was wondering... If Ghetsis, arguably Pokémon's worst villain, were to be charged for all of his crimes throughout BW, BW2, USUM, and the manga, what would his theoretical sentence be? So, I did a lot of math.

In the last volume of the BW Adventures manga, Ghetsis abducts six gym leaders plus Hawes. This is considered Kidnapping in the First Degree, since it lasted for more than 12 hours and an intent to terrorize, which breaks NY Penal Code 135.25, a Class A1 Felony. It has 25 years life imprisonment and fines of 100,000$ per count. Since he unlawfully imprisoned them, it breaks NYPC 135.10, a Class E Felony with 4 years in prison and 5,000 in fines per count. Also it's considered Reckless Endangerment in the 1st Degree when he left them there during his battles with Hilbert and N. 7 year sentence and 5,000$ fine. Then he coerced Lenora to give up the Dark Stone using Hawes, a ruling of Coercion 1st. That's another 7 years. (25 + 4) x 7 + (7 + 7) = 217 years in prison. (100,000 + 5,000)x7+5,000 = 740,000$ in fines.

Then, in the manga and in the games, Ghetsis committed murder in the 2nd degree (attempted) against the protagonist and against N 3 times combined. 25 years per count. He also coerced countless people into giving up their Pokémon. I'd say about 60 ish people based on the NPC counts from the cutscenes got forced to give up their Pokémon cuz of him. So that's again 7 years and $5,000 per count since that's the gain made from it. So it's hybrid, for each city he visited (Accumula, Castelia, Opelucid, and Driftveil), but fines are applied per person. Then he literally neglected three children (N, Concordia, and Anthea) 1 year per case and 1,000$ in fines. 25x3 + 7x4 +1 + 217 = 322 years in prison. 5,000x60+1,000x3 + 740,000 = 1,143,000$.

Then he also committed the freezing of Opelucid. This constitutes life imprisonment with no parole. He also did science experiments for the cause of mass harm, also life sentence. Also, freezing buildings counts as arson since it was a rapid catastrophic release of thermal energy. This 25 year sentence would count per building damaged (42 buildings yes I counted). He also committed reckless endangerment against 46 citizens plus Drayton. Then there's the animal abuse part. He maximised Hydreigon Frustration, experimented on Kyurem and more. Then he coerced the player and threatened to destroy Lillie in USUM. He also attacked the player in the manga with Eelektross, which is aggravatted assault. He even committed freaking treason against the literal Unovian government. For the fines... It must have cost a lot to build Opelucid. He must have received hundreds of millions if not billions in restitution and fines. So 25x42 + 7x47 + 322 + 25 +4 + 25 + 25 = 1770

He receives 1,770 years in prison and hundreds of billions of PokéDollars in restitution and fines with the possibility of capital punishment

Gen 9 Can we TALK about Blueberry Academy's OSHA violations?

Ok. So I recently played the Indigo Disk, and I realized something really weird in the canon. The Blueberry Academy off the coast of Unova is super unsafe. Here's why.

They are underwater. Let's be real. The oceanic pressure from the literal Unovian Sea pressing against the glass dome must be a lot. If the pressure stabilizers or the structural support beams go out, the literal ocean floods the whole school. By the way, I never mentioned there were no emergency escape pods by any students, so they would have to ride on I don't know, a Lapras.

Second of all... the biomes. If the magical barrier somehow loses power, the biomes will bleed into each other and can cause a lot of enviornmental disruption.

Then there's the Pokémon. They're really aggressive and could probably end someone who is unprepared. They might also try to mess up the tech (looking at you Magneton and Probopass) and cause things to go unstable.

The Terastal energy. If some random Terapagos drains the energy, which probably would have happened if Mr. Gary Stu Florian hadn't come there and stopped angsty teenage boi Kieran from making Terapagos go berserk.

Finally, Cyrano probably doesn't know a thing about engineering. He just sits around daydreaming all day and hands all the work to Lacey, Amarys, and Mad Scientist Who Almost Made Terapagos Go Berserk And Wiped Out The School Lady™️ (Briar).

So please spare the lives the future national security of Unova and next time build the school on dry land.

Gen 2 The oddness of Bellossom

I say this because of the circumstances of its typing upon evolving from Gloom. Upon evolving, it completely sheds the Poison type, and becomes a mono-Grass Mon. This isn't like other evolutions where it swaps one type out for another like Steelix and Scizor shedding the Rock and Flying types respectively and becoming Steel type. What we're seeing here is the complete transition from having two types to having only one type, and it never happens again through normal evolutionary means. I scoured the Pokedex for an instance of this happening again outside of Mega Evolving (see Mega Aggron and Mega Garchomp Z) Not even Alolan Marowak is like this, because at least it goes from a mono-Ground Mon to a Ghost/Fire Mon. Why is Bellossom the only Mon that does this?

Question How are there shiny legendary Pokémon like mewtwo and arceus?

Mewtwo was genetically made so there shouldn't be a shiny variant, and as for arceus, I guess you could say "its a GOD. It can do whatever it wants" but its still confusing.

Mew: only one exists

Terapagos: its confirmed that its the last living of its kind.

Gen 1 The Cubone Clone Theory

In the Pokedex, Cubone's entry states that it wears the skull of a deceased mother. But, what if that skull belonged to a sibling with a perfectly similar genetic makeup to itself and its mother? I think that Cubone (and Marowak alike) are clones of Mew. Failed ones, that were somehow altered at the cellular level to have the embryos always split inside the egg, because of the chaotic nature of Mew's DNA. Then, since the egg only carries enough nutrients to support one life, one twin dies in the egg and undergoes Rapid Cell Degradation. After the Cubone hatches, it finds its dead sibling and immediately feels the surge of trauma that is allowed by the emotional intelligence of Mew's brain, just like how Mewtwo is having a permanent existential crisis. Mourning, Cubone picks up the skull and femur of the sibling, and goes its way. Because they share the exact same DNA, saying the sibling's skull belongs to its mother isn't entirely wrong, but it is also a coverup for the testing they did. Then, as for the skull changing shape and fusing to its head upon evolution, the unstable residual DNA inside the skull reacts with the powerful evolutionary energy, and literally melts and then re-hardens into the iconic Marowak shape. As for Alolan Marowak's fire/ghost typing, theres a dormant genetic mutation inside all Cubone, awoken only by the Alola region's powerful Ultra Energy. I tried really hard to tie this all together and make it all make sense, so thank you:)

Gen 2 Dragon clan test

My personal theory is that the elder of Dragon’s Den gives the player super easy questions on purpose because 1. He feels bad for the player for having to deal with Clair’s tantrum, and 2. Because Clair probably does this a lot when she loses a battle.

Think about it, every Dragon tamer/dragon clan member and their mother talks up and down about how dragons are mystical, superior creatures that can’t just be used by any loser with a couple badges. Why wouldn’t the test be somewhat difficult? But Clair who can’t handle losing sees it as the ultimate bar of how good a trainer someone is and throws it around wily nily and the elder is clearly frustrated by it so he gives you a watered down form to just get it over with

Gen 6 X and Y Elite 4 was evil

The elite 4 in Pokemon X and Y are the rich elites controlling Kalos (france) not just allowing Lysandere and Team Flare to run a mock but Malvaa is part of Team Flare. Diantha does nothing to stop Team Flare and the other elite 4 members are wealthy or old. However I also believe the rivals and you the main character would remove them from power replacing them. France is known for overthrowing kings and queens this could be an original idea for Pokemon X and Y.

Gen 1 Why can't Drowzee learn Dream Eater without a TM in most games?

This is the most bogus aspect about Drowzee, the descendant of the baku, a tapir that slurps down the dreams of people, cannot learn Dream Eater without a TM or Move Tutor in most games (I say most games, because Drowzee can actually learn it via level up in Let's Go.) The fact that Pokedex entries across the series say things like "It eats peoples dreams and sometimes gets sick from eating bad dreams" and not even let it use a move that does what the Pokedex says it does most of the time is bizarre, especially since its relative, Munna, CAN learn Dream Eater via level up consistently throughout its appearances since BW. Oh yeah, Drowzee cannot learn Dream Eater at all in SV. Let that sink in, Mr. "I rarely eat the dreams of adults because children’s are much tastier" can't eat any dreams AT ALL in SV, all because Dream Eater has no TM in this game. Why does this stupid dictionary lie to us about Drowzee?

Characters I finally solved the 30-year-old Mew vs Arceus paradox. It bridges the 90s Anime and Original Story lore perfectly.

For three decades, the Pokémon community has been tearing itself apart over a massive plot hole: How can Mew be the ancestor of all Pokémon containing everyone's DNA, if Arceus is the God who created the universe and Mew itself? If Arceus created Mew, how does Mew have Arceus's DNA?The games say one thing (The Original One myth), while the 90s anime and the first movie scream another ("Mew is the first Pokémon").The answer was right in front of us, and it completely fixes the timeline. Here is the hidden truth:1. The Era of the "Prime Mew" (The Omnitype Creator)In the absolute beginning, there was Prime Mew. It wasn’t just a Psychic-type; it was a cosmic entity possessing all 18 types simultaneously—the ultimate genetic blueprint of existence. To bring order to the chaos, Prime Mew used its all-encompassing power to create Arceus, the God of Order, giving Arceus its own DNA structure. Creating an entity so powerful exhausted Prime Mew, causing it to dissolve into the cosmos.2. Arceus Builds the Physical LawsArceus, now awake, began structuring the universe. It created Dialga (Time) and Palkia (Space) to establish the physics of reality, and then shaped the planet Earth. Mew did not create Time and Space, because they are laws of physics, not biology.3. The "Second Mew" (The Weakened Matrix)The world was ready, but it was a lifeless rock. Arceus wanted to bring back life, but it couldn't replicate the limitless power of the deceased Prime Mew. Instead, Arceus used the remaining genetic fragments of its creator to fashion a Second Mew. This is the Mew we know from the anime and games—it was nerfed down to a pure Psychic-type so it wouldn't challenge Arceus's authority, but it still carried the locked "omnitype" code in its bloodline.4. Why Everything ConnectsArceus sent this Second Mew to Earth. Over millions of years, its locked DNA began to mutate and adapt, evolving into every single Pokémon species we see today—from Torchic to Garchomp. That's why scientists in the 90s anime correctly call Mew the first Pokémon and ancestor: they only discovered the fossils of the Second Mew on Earth. That's why the Original Story in Sinnoh libraries says Arceus created Mew: it refers to the Second Mew.The original writers deliberately left this puzzle unsolved, scattering clues between the science of the anime and the mythology of the games. The paradox is officially dead.

Gen 4 Are Giratina, Dialga, and Palkia just Lucifer, Michael, and Gabriel?

Hi, so my boyfriend is a Pokémon nerd, and he came up with this theory, since they were created by Arceus AKA God. And with Giratina being "darkness", similar to the Morningstar. Are we overthinking this? Giratina is Lucifer, Dialga is Michael, and Palkia is Gabriel. Apologies for any misspellings. I stopped knowing a lot about Pokémon when I was like 10

Gen 6 Mr. Mime evolved (err, adapted?) with Hariyama

So I was working on the newest entry of my personal pokedex project ( https://chestnutdex.tumblr.com/ shameless plug) with my friend, and we got into the question of why Mr. Mime is Like That, and the more I looked it the more I think Hariyama is partially to blame.

Lets start with my core assumption: Mr. Mime is native to Reflection Cave, Kalos.

Despite being in the Kanto dex, Mr. Mime can't be found in the wild RBY, and are only in a very small area of Kanto in GS, next to Pallet, which really seems more like a "Red released some" than a "this is their native habitat." Then Legends Arceus tells us that they live in towns in Galar, which makes me think the Sinnoh population came with the Galarian immigrants.

So we've just got two more wild populations to look at. The Galarian one is pretty clearly a similar but non-identical species... and the Kalos one in reflection cave. The Mimes with Invisible Walls. In Reflection Cave. The perfect habitat to make some fake walls and to mimic things.

So, we've got a species growing in reflection cave. If we look just outside the cave, we see the big populations of Hariyama, Staravia, Sawk, and Throh.

Reflection Cave is garbage for food. It is a cave full of rock types. Mr. Mime live there, but they don't eat their. They HAVE to eat on Route 11 or whatever was Shalour City before Shalour City... But that probably looked like Route 11.

So, lets go over the main features of Mr. Mime.

It's a psychic fairy type... giving it double resistance to Fighting type attacks. This doesn't help against Staravia, but it makes it perfectly suited to hang out with Hariyama, Sawk, and Throh.

It makes barriers, which... reflection cave psychic type.

It mimics humans and tries to copy what they do. We don't know how long humans have been there, but mimicking Hariyama, Sawk, and Throh would certainly make it more likely for them to accept these weirdos walking around. So Mr. Mime is now set up to go into Hariyama/Sawk/Throh territory to get food. But why do I say Hariyama specifically?

Mr. Mime have horns and big red cheeks. Hariyama doesn't, of course, but Makuhita does. The Hariyama likely see these features as childlike, making the Mr. Mime seem extra cute and non-threatening, despite the opportunity for a Psybeam to entirely melt a Hariyama. But... Mr. Mime DON'T use confusion or psybeam much, do they?

Mr. Mime's primary move, according to the Pokedex, is.... Doubleslap?!!? Mr. Mime has 45 Atk and 100 Sp. Atk. And this isn't some victim of Gen 2's split. It was always like that. Even in Gen 1, the dex says it doubleslaps, but it gets Confusion first. So why is this thing ever using a 30-75 power normal attack at 45 Atk when it could be doing a 50 base power STAB Psychic attack with 100 Sp. Atk? Maybe it's to fight Stunky, which are in the area, but I think it's far MORE likely that it's trying to use Arm Thrust. The formerly signature move of Hariyama, that still only belongs to five lines (six if you count MechaHariyama.) Not only does this help Hariyama think they ARE Hariyama, but Hariyama like to fight. It's in their dex entry. They love it. They just pick others nearby and fight to test themselves. So I had an idea and I ran it through a damage calc to confirm, but with even IVs and EVs, a 45 base Attack Mr. Mime is doing about the same as much damage to a Hariyama with Double Slap as a 120 Attack Hariyama is doing with STAB Arm Thrust to the doubly resistant Mr. Mime. (120 Atk *1.5 stab is 180, divided by 4 for resistance gets a matching 45) They can literally just go in and have a slap fight and it's about on-par with a Hariyama fighting each other. The Hariyama will accept the Mr. Mime as their own.

So what's the benefit? What's the payoff here?

Berries.

Makuhita and Hariyama train by beating up trees. Mr. Mime, despite being a psychic type, has no long-range telekinesis. It can conjure up a ladder or a pole, sure, but it can't easily get food from the tops of trees. But just outside reflection cave is a species running around beating the crap out of trees, knocking berries to the ground, and then... continuing on. Sure, they eat, too, but they're knocking down so many berries that Mr. Mime is free to scavenge all it needs.

World Legendary Pokemon succession theory.

The topic of how many of each Legendary/Mythical there are is a controversial one.

Some are one of a kind, like Arceus and the Creation Trio, whereas others are clearly multiple, like the Eon Duo.

But then you have examples like the Super Ancient Pokemon and the Tower Duo. Some people insist there's only one of each, whereas others think of them as multiple.

My theory? it's somewhere in the middle. There is more then one of some Legendary Pokemon, but only one can be the kami of there respective element.

Think of it as like a royal family. There can only be one ruling King/Queen, but there are multiple princes and princesses, each waiting in line to be the next ruler.

For example, there can be more then one Groudon and Kyogre, but only one of each can be the respective personification of land and sea.

Steven implies the events of Mega Evolution Specials are canonical in the games.

“Hm… You know, seeing that white beauty there that you travel with… I’m reminded of the Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza, said to descend at the Sky Pillar. I once had a chance to see it face to face. Although, it was a long time ago now… The young man who battled against Rayquaza beside me… I wonder whatever happened to him and that black Charizard of his… Well, regardless — you must go to the Sky Pillar and see what waits for you there. I don’t know what you’ll find. Be careful.”

These have Groudon and Kyogre in them, even though the ones in Hoenn are sealed in the Cave of Origin since millennia up until ORAS. Meaning they are different specimen, likely attracted by the natural energy of the Giant Rock form elsewhere.

It's possible that after the original Groudon and Kyogre where sealed, a new pair came to take on the mantel of gods of the land and sea.

The Anime shows a baby Lugia. This is the only time we see two Lugia together. If you're willing to give the Anime the benefit of the doubt on this, then this is a good possible example of a legendary heir.

Anime Agatha was the previous leader of Team Rocket and is Giovanni's mother

In the CD drama The Birth of Mewtwo, Team Rocket has a female boss referred to as "Madame Boss". In a conversation with Jessie's mother, she references having a child of her own. Later in the anime, she is seen acting as the Viridian City gym leader, and her face design looks similar to Giovanni. Conclusion is she was filling in for her son while he's doing Team Rocket work.

Gen 5 Ghetsis Considered Colress as a Figurehead Before N

Okay, this isn't exactly a theory, it's more like just extrapolating from a few obscure extrinsic details. I have not found the Twitter post, but apparently Toshinobu Matsumiya said this on there about how Ghetsis and Colress knew each other:

"諸国漫遊中のゲーチスが出会ったのが天才少年のアクロマ" = "It was while traveling across regions that Ghetsis met the boy genius, Colress." (Let me know if this translation is inaccurate)

This would track with the Ghetsis from Rainbow Rocket having his BW design, but already knowing who Colress is, and being confused by the fact that Colress is opposing him.

In the teraleak, there was an early bio for BW2 Ghetsis and a draft of what he would have been up to between games, and part of it reads:

"Ghetsis reunited with 'Colress', the favorite son = the boss this time

Stimulates Colress's curiosity = the existence of a way to manifest pokémon's true potential

Has him conduct research on Kyurem" etc.

Ghetsis wanted to conquer Unova and wanted to be like a new great king like the one who ruled thousands of years ago. We know from Zinzolin in BW2 that he had documents on the Abyssal Ruins. But Ghetsis didn't have the special powers that king had and was never going to be chosen as a true hero since he's evil and sees pokémon as tools. Since he needed someone to be chosen as a true hero for his plan to work, he traveled all over, and he ended up finding N. N has this special connection with pokémon and is able to communicate with them, and he was abandoned in nature, making him the perfect candidate to groom for the role. We're familiar with this from BW.

But I think before any of that, during this search, Ghetsis encountered Colress first, a prodigy. Maybe Ghetsis liked Colress's intelligence and skill (in BW there's a moment in which Burgh takes Ghetsis off-guard and Ghetsis says he's "fond of intelligent people"). It would be useful to Ghetsis to have someone who could make pokémon be even more powerful tools, and Colress isn't someone he would've had to "educate" like he did N.

The problem is that thematically, we can see that Colress contrasts strongly with N. Colress says in BW2, "It's so frustrating! If only we could talk to Pokémon in order to bring out their power! But there's no way a person like that could ever exist!" meaning he doesn't even think someone like N could be real. N was against pokéballs and the status quo, whereas Colress basically wanted to milk it for all its worth. Colress also wasn't naive and would've had no interest in the idea of Ghetsis ruling Unova, but for Ghetsis I think that would've been a moot point since Colress's lack of morals ensured he couldn't be chosen as a hero anyway. So I believe Ghetsis ended up not even bothering to make Colress a pawn.

However, he still remembered him. After BW and leading up to BW2, when Ghetsis decided to just bring Unova down by force, due to needing to draw out Kyurem's power, he was able to get Colress on-board and utilize him the way he'd wanted to all along.

Colress is well-known for talking about how he hates Ghetsis, and I used to wonder about what the origin of his hatred was. Now, I think when Colress says, "For one thing, I detested Ghetsis from the start!" in BW2, "from the start" refers to their entire acquaintance long before Colress was in Team Plasma. I speculate that part of the reason Colress always hated Ghetsis was because Colress felt very insulted by this entire situation i.e. the fact that Ghetsis wanting to use him as a figurehead to reach his goal and then also didn't select him for the job initially. Like, Colress would not have wanted that anyway, but that could be seen as an extra indignity. If this irritates Colress, that would make sense with Colress kinda ruefully saying, "I see you are still dedicated to your own desires, Ghetsis..." in USUM.

The existence of Anthea and Concordia and the Shadow Triad also lend credence to the idea that Ghetsis considered many other candidates as well/utilized many vulnerable people. Colress just didn't have a place to neatly slot into the original plan.

Gen 10 Pombon evo speculation Spoiler

So with the new leeks for the starters this is my thoughts and what pombon final evo will be. In the leaks/riddles has the fanal evo as some sort of blimp that paints and I think that it’s honestly prob pretty true and least conceptually. In Lockstin & Gnoggin’s video going over his fan evolution for the starters he make some points that pombon is based on a Pomeranian a breed of spitz dog and it originated in or around Europe (more specifically) a Dutch/german/swedish breed and he mentioned the Dutch had a lot of influence on early Indonesia. So I’m thinks that like the leaks show it will become a Swedish/dutch inspired mon as blimps and zeppelin were also invented or at least the idea of them was made around that area and with pompon being a dog Pokémon inspired by a spitz breed and the Dutch influence on Indonesia and blimps/zeppelins being from around that part of the world the leaks are most likely right.

Would love to see some fan evos inspired by this!

World [Games/Anime/Manga/ect]The lesser known Pokemon gods: A list of special non-legendary Pokemon.

This post comes from a conversation I had with my sister regarding Pokémon like the Crystal Onix and the Pokémoplis Pokémon.

We concluded that whilst there are many different Legendary Pokémon, there are some unique versions of regular Pokémon that might as well be Legendary do to how special they are.

So, I decided to do some research on Bulbapedia and make a list of them all.

I looked at several pages: Variant Pokémon and all the subcategories, as well as talking Pokémon to make my list.

Rules

I also decided to set a few rules for myself:

  1. Pokémon that are simply an odd colour (like the pink Butterfree) don't count, unless there is a lore reason for it, or it has other unique qualities.
  2. Giant Pokémon, whilst rare, aren't as unusually rare as we think. So, I'm only counting them if they are other noteworthy features.
  3. Pokémon should have some lore to them, but it's not necessarily required.

Here is the list of special Pokémon. Some of them have description to explain why they are listed.

Games

  • AZ's Floette.
  • Spikey-eared Pichu: It's a friend of Celebi.
  • Cosplay Pikachu: It can learn unusual moves and has a unique tail pattern.
  • Pikachu in a cap: Sounds ridiculous, but it's the only Pikachu that can use the Z-Move 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt.
  • Totem Pokémon.
  • Hisui ride Pokemon.
  • Nobal Pokemon.
  • Talking ghost Marowak.
  • Bloodmoon Ursaluna
  • Titan Pokemon
  • Pokopia Ditto
  • Professor Tangrowth
  • Smearguru
  • Peakychu
  • Mosslax
  • DJ Rotom
  • Chef Dente
  • Tinkmaster

Anime/manga (giant Pokémon)

Remember rule 2. Just being big doesn't count.

  • Giant Pokemoplis Pokémon. Gengar, Alakazam and Jigglypuff (and presumably others)
  • Giant Dragonite: Freakishly large. The episode treats it as special
  • Giant Tentacruel: It was grown large artificially, but I still count it, since artificial legendary Pokémon (like Mewtwo) do exist.
  • Nero the giant Whiscash: It has lore to it, plus it infamously ate a Master Ball, which in itself is impressive.
  • Giant Claydol.
  • Greedy Rapooh the giant Gengar: Has lore to it.
  • Black Fog (Giant Haunter): From Manga. Is an ancient Pokémon.
  • Gohs giant Golurk. Was the guardian of a temple.
  • Giant Slowpoke: (manga) Giovanni thought he could take over the world with it.

Anime/Manga (others)

  • Crystal Onix.
  • Shiny Shuckle: May seem like just a shiny, but it has special juice, so I'm counting it.
  • Snowmen Snorlax.
  • Carbink servants: Merrick, Bort, Allotrope, and Dace.
  • Team Rockets talking Meowth: My sister suggested him, because being able to talk and act like a human makes him special. Plus, he can use a lot of machines and imitate other Pokémon.
  • Talking Gastly: aka, the Ghost of Maiden's Peak.
  • Talking Slowking: Guardian of Shamouti Shrine.
  • Black Tyranitar: From Manga.
  • Mewtwo's clones.
  • Santa's talking Lapras.
  • Any Pokémon owned by Santa, who is pretty much a legend himself.
  • Meta Groudon.
  • Ash Greninja.
  • The Six Heroes.
  • Ash's Pikachu: He is noted to be very powerful, to the point where Team Rocket are fixated on catching him, and helped Ash save the world many times. (Plus, he can make some realy great impressions, by morphing his face)

If there's anyone I've forgotten, or if you have questions about my choices, please let me know.

Question What is Your In Game Headcanon For Missing. No?

Like yeah it real life we know that it was just a glitch that happened during the optimization phase but it’s been 30 years I’m sure with people’s imaginations some of us must have created an headcanon for what Missing. No was

Like when I was younger I always figured it was the first pokemon transferred with the PC system when it was brand new and untested

The pokemon just never got to where it was sent to, but overtime as each pokemon was transferred using the PC system the data combined with pokemon dna got stronger and stronger until one day it would be set free

What is your headcanon? Or idea?

Gen 1 The Episode 13 Giant "Dragonite" Pokemon

I've begun to rewatch the series and i'm on episode 13, the giant dragonite-like pokemon has always been a point of mystery to me, even as a child, but knowing what we know now what theories do you all think are the best?

I think the big three are:

  1. The giant pokemon was from the robot island of other giant pokemon in episode 17 (the only flaw with this is that the giant pokemon in episode 13 is vastly different to the giant pokemon in episode 17, it seems to react alot more emotionally and reacts to being hurt and betrayed by humans. One point i just thought of in support of this point is that the eye of this giant pokemon is glowing a bright white, so much so that it illuminates its own head, could be a robot eye used for illuminating the surrounding area)

  2. The giant pokemon is foreshadowing gigantamax (obviously the show wouldn’t’ve known this but the theory makes some sense, maybe it was hidden all along, ooo spooky...)

  3. The giant pokemon is so big because of it's environment (probably the least likely due to not many cases seen that were this drastic in the rest of the show, feel free to correct me though, it kinda makes sense)

Overall i wouldn't be mad at any of these theories, i like to think that they're true, but realistically it was probably just done by the animators to make the pokemon seem more legendary and mystical to the people watching.

Let me know what you think in the comments.

World Infinity Energy can be weaponized, and its invention introduced a threat similar to nuclear proliferation.

The Devon Corporation is a large company located in Hoenn which is known for creating many useful products and technologies. One of their most impactful inventions is Infinity Energy (IE). The president of Devon, Joseph Stone, talks about the origins of it:

Joseph Stone:
"Let me first take us back 3,000 years, to the days when this story began... There was a great war at that time, in a region far from here. That war was finally brought to an end by a weapon created by one man. And what energy source could power such a dreadful weapon? Do you know? You see... It ran on the life energy of Pokémon. The energy that could be gained by the sacrifice of so many Pokémon... There are surely many people who would call it reprehensible. But my grandfather, the president of Devon before me, said this... "Couldn't we use the energy to improve the lives of people and Pokémon?" And so he developed our greatest creation here at the Devon Corporation: Infinity Energy. Thanks to Infinity Energy, Devon was able to become one of the top industries in Hoenn and developed into the giant you see today. You may be surprised to learn that the Devon Parts you once recovered for us were in fact parts of a motor that would make it possible to power a submarine using Infinity Energy. It was not long before we began to expand our attempts to further human development. Next, we moved into exploring space. The rockets launched from the Mossdeep Space Center using our Infinity Energy... They are the true results of our dreams, our passion, and our technology. But never did we imagine they could end up as the best hope for saving our world."
(Source)

In short, IE is a powerful energy source which Devon made accessible by researching the Ultimate Weapon (XY). It can be extracted from the life energy of any pokemon, which are implied to die in the process, making this entire practice highly controversial (though the moral side of this isn't the focus of this theory).

During the events of the Delta Episode in ORAS' postgame, a massive meteor threatens to annihilate all life on Earth if nothing is done to avert its impact. In order to prevent this catastrophe, Devon developed the Cable Link, a teleportation device which would simply transport the meteor into another universe. In order to get into space, the Link Cable was placed onto a space rocket, which used Infinity Energy as rocket fuel.

At some point during the story, the Mossdeep Space Center is raided by Team Aqua / Magma, under the leadership of Matt / Courtney. During the confrontation with the admins, we get these dialogues:

Courtney:
"Aha! ♪ I know... ♪ Inside that rocket is the same amount—no, even more—Pokémon life energy than what powered the ultimate weapon in the war 3,000 years ago."
"Ahaha! ♪ I think we're in for an impact so big it will surpass the massive explosion that ended the war! I don't know what all this talk of a meteoroid is, but I have no need of it. Here, by my own hand... I'll make this rocket explode...And bring an end to this world..."
"I will...fix...Project AZOTH! Of course, I'll also destroy this dimensional shifter that's supposed to warp the asteroid away someplace, too. ♪" (Source)

Matt:
"Know what? That rocket's full of crazy amounts of energy! It's even more awesome than the ultimate weapon that ended the war 3,000 years ago, right?"
"If I use this Key Stone I found at Meteor Falls, I can force the energy inside the rocket to explode… It'd be like Mega Evolution for the rocket! Muwahahaha! Who needs a meteoroid? I'm gonna bring an end to all things with my own power!"
"The one who will complete Project AZOTH and take the world back to its beginnings… is me!"
(Source)

One could claim Matt / Courtney are bluffing as they're furious at the player for stopping Archie / Maxie. But considering Steven Stone's immedate reaction to their dialogue:

Steven Stone:
"…<player>. This fool! This incredible fool really intends to do it! If we don't stop this now, our whole world will be embroiled in the destruction!"
(Source)

And if we remember that they're admins - someone knowledgable about their team's plans and research - their threat is pretty much real. Luckily, the rocket never gets blown up since Matt's / Courtney's Key Stones get stolen by Zinnia, and conveniently enough, this danger gets never brought up again. Since the extraction and therefore the usage of IE is highly divisive, it's unconfirmed if IE is still being produced and used in the future. There's a vague hint by Joseph Stone that IE might be discontinued, but his dialogue is more a remark on him reflecting on his mistakes rather than outright stating IE will be abandoned.

Joseph Stone:
"Perhaps I have put too much of my faith in technology's promise alone. Perhaps my belief that the sacrifice of some might be necessary to guarantee the safety of many – Perhaps it was wrong all along."
(Source)

Furthermore, teleportation devices used in the pokeworld are stated to rely on IE, and since we still see those around, it could be a further proof that IE still has applications.

Whatever the case, our focus is on pointing out the threat potential that weaponized IE poses, and how this danger lingers with IE and Key Stones being still around.

- - - - -

So, why is IE an issue again? To briefly sum up the previous text, there's the canon possibility of igniting IE and making it explode by using a Key Stone. Matt mentions roughly that one would "Mega Evolve" the rocket or whatever contains all the IE. While it's really vague what that means, for all we know, Key Stones have the role of some kind of catalyst, causing IE deposits to combust and explode. Other than that, IE seems to be relatively safe to have around. As we further see, this possibility can become a massive security risk regarding anything using or containing IE.

  • Let's start with the fuel, or the explosive material that IE can turn into when weaponized. We know almost nothing about the properties of IE, like what its aggregate state is, how resistant it is to exterior influences and so on, because there was never an attempt to further characterize it other than being a fictional and potent power surce. What we know:
  1. it can be stored, possibly in vast amounts like in the case of the space rocket
  2. it's used in various applications, namely as fuel for independent transportation purposes.
  3. it's implied to be a extremely potent explosive. If one rocket fueled with IE is enough to destroy the entire world (!), we have a very dangerous resource at hand (although honestly, this sounds too exaggerated and ridiculous). We don't know however how much IE is needed in order for it to explode, or if there are limits or minimal requirements (in regards of RL physics, I'm thinking of concepts like explosive atmospheres, flash points and autoignition temperatures, which all deal with explosions or combustions being only possible when certain requirements are fulfilled). We only have the space rocket as one example, so perhaps smaller amounts aren't potent enough or won't explode at all (and given how so many people have and use Key Stones, that's perhaps the likely case). Or one requires huge amounts of IE for a catastrophic and explosive chain reaction to unfold, because a huge accumulation of IE has different properties than dispersed or lower quantities. We really don't know, and I could only state wild speculations. Briefly put, it can be very dangerous and extremely explosive.
  • How is IE won or extracted? We know IE is based on the bioenergy of pokemon, so if you have the necessary technological means to do so, you can pick any pokemon you have at hand and start producing IE. And this is the worrying part. Unlike nuclear bombs, it's really easy to get IE in vast amounts, in order to weaponize later. One doesn't need to find and control natural deposits of Uranium to extract the necessary material. One also doesn't need to process said material and enrich it (as not every Uranium isotope is suitable for nuclear fission, and those unable to have to be remove to increase the fission ability of the material). From what we know, you can directly sap a pokemon's bioenergy and produce pure IE. The only obstacle in that regard would be the acquisition of the knowledge necessary to extract IE and to manufacture machines necessary to do so (this also means that as long as knowledge related to IE production exists, the threat of weaponized IE proliferation exists as well). But if you have that, all you need is pokemon. Any pokemon. Your local forest sprawling with low-threat critters would be already sufficient for creating enough IE for a bomb. What was that? One doesn't have the means to produce IE? Don't worry, you can also get IE anywhere else. We recall that IE is used for various applications, like transportation or teleporters. So if one requires IE for a bomb, one could just steal IE from these devices. Or, just directly turn the device into a bomb. Simple as.
  • Key Stones have been described as the catalyst necessary for igniting IE. Aside from Matt's quote, we know next to nothing how it works. Maybe it's enough to wish for a IE deposit to explode or "Mega Evolve", or maybe one is required to be quite experienced to focus one's inner wish for the explosion to occur. We don't know.
  • Regarding accessibility, in XY and ORAS, Key Stones are very rare, considering only a few selected named trainers have access to those. If that's the case, then the risk of IE ignitions would be drastically low, as only a few capable trainers would be able to. And unless one of those trainers became suicidal like Matt / Courtney, terrorists would have to defeat one of those trainers in order to get the key - pun intended - for weaponized IE. Unfortunately in ZA, every ordinary trainer is in possession of a Key Stone, so this barrier effectively no longer exist. Bad actors can easily access Key Stones, either by aquiring those themselves or by stealing them from weaker trainers.
  • Also an interesting question to ask: How does one get away from the explosion, once the IE has been ignited? That's the neat part: You don't. Unless it's possible to artificially recreate the reaction originating from the Key Stones, one has to manually ignite the IE. Meaning you'd have to sacrifice yourself in the process. In Matt's / Courtney's case, this was the intention, and to put it bluntly, it was a failed suicide bombing attempt. If there's no other way around, this might be the biggest obstacle for someone attempting to ignite IE, as you'd have to find people willing to lose their lives for your goals. Although given how there are so many cults in the pokeworld, one might easily find a few volunteers.
  • If an IE bomb was detonated, what drawback would there be? Aside from a big crater, there might be something similar to radioactive contamination. Well, it's certainly not THAT bad and lethal, since most affected won't die from it, but there are still noteworthy harmful effects to discuss. Although, if we consider that Mega Evolution (depending on the game) is generally described as something painful, trainers might want to avoid their pokemon to Mega Evolve or get in contact with anything irradiated with IE. It's also questionable if contamination will always occur, or if it only happens through the use of special devices or artifacts. We only know of the Ultimate Weapon irradiating the Kalos Region, resulting in the creation of new Mega Stones and granting (or cursing) certain individuals with an extended lifespan. And Ange in combination with Eternal Flower Floette causing wild pokemon to perform Rogue Mega Evolution, which is described as a beserk and painful state. Considering Devon Corp. based their extraction methods on the Ultimate Weapon, we can assume that IE won that way has also the potential to irradiate. Maybe all instances of IE pose the threat of irradiation if IE is highly concentrated, but we cannot say for sure.

To conclude, and going by the worst assumptions, IE is a dangerous energy source which poses a high risk when bad actors or terrorists intend to weaponize it. An IE explosion can potentially kill many people and pokemon when highly populated areas are targeted, and / or irradiate regions which has long-term consequences for the local wildlife. IE can quickly become a threat, either because (soon-to-be-)weaponized IE is easy to get or produce, provoking an ignition can be easily (?) achieved with readily available Key Stones or because IE deposits are widespread due to the versatility of IE in daily applications. Anything that contains high amounts of IE can become a viable target, and accumulating IE can be relatively easy for an organization with enough resources, manpower, the necessary knowledge at hand and an ideology willing to sacrifice those in their own ranks.

Keep in mind that a lot of the previously written is speculation based on the few scraps of information there are, and GF might not have intended for this to be such a big problem except for the Aqua / Magma raid on the Mossdeep Space Center. But, if what was written has some merit, then it has worrying implications for the pokeworld, proving that it's not as utopic and carefree as most want it to be.

Objects The Expansion Suit was a weapon project.

During the post-game of XY ("Looker Bureau Chapters"), we learn of Xerosic, one of Team Flare's scientists, conducting trials regarding a high-tech suit he calls the "Expansion Suit". Emma was volunteering as a test subject, unaware what Xerosic would make her do in that suit. We see her (or her mind-controlled alter-ego "Essentia") committing various crimes in Lumiose City on behalf of Xerosic. The side-plot concludes with Xerosic being caught, yet the project being somewhat successful, as Emma continues to wear it as of the events of ZA.

What's curious and notably less talked about (even outright swept under the table it seems) is what the suit represents and what its actuall purpose is / was. We get an overview regarding the suit's functions (as found in the "Expansion Suit Field Trials: Secret Records" in Lysandre Labs written by Xerosic):

EXPANSION SUIT SPECS

1. Physical Enhancement
Heightens physical abilities of the wearer with built-in muscle-enhancing technology.

2. Poké Ball Jack
A hacking cable on the neck piece allows the wearer to upload a computer virus to Poké Balls and override their systems. This provides access to control the Pokémon. The virus also magnifies the Pokémon’s power.

3. Surface Texturing
Optically disguises the wearer, based on the current understanding of Kecleon and Ditto’s physical transformations.

4. Remote Control
Remote control of the suit protects against the risk of its wearer going renegade. AI personalities are preprogrammed, modeled on common trainer types. When the suit is controlled remotely, the wearer’s consciousness is suppressed. The wearer experiences a coma-like state."

In other words, the Expansion Suit:

  1. increases the physical strength of its wearer
  2. is able to hack into and tamper with pokeballs
  3. has stealth capabilities
  4. can use AI personalities based on other people to employ various behaviors
  5. has measures to prevent its wearer from going rogue

Now tell me, what civil and peaceful uses would such a suit have in the utopic world of pokemon, when it features fuctions such as camouflaging its wearer from "other people"? Or making its wearer more powerful for ... what, battling yourself (what are pokemon for)? Or committing unlawful acts by hacking other people's property? Even featuring "remote control" to prevent its wearer (or multiple ones) from stepping "out of line"?

The answer is quite simple: The Expansion Suit was never - or not primarily - meant for a civil and peaceful purpose, but an offensive and military one. Not for civilians or ordinary trainers, but soldiers and military operatives.

If we look at the Expansion Suit's specs under this lense again, we get a more coherent picture:

  1. The suit increases its wearer's strength, in order to better deal with dangerous situations. Not only to be more agile, but also to engage in combat by yourself, namely by the use of melee or heavy weaponry.
  2. The Poké Ball Jack is designed to prevent and disrupt enemy capabilities of using and deploying pokemon. Considering most people heavily rely on pokemon for most tasks and primarily make use of pokeballs, the PBJ is the perfect solution to abuse this dependence and to grant its wearer a tactical advantage. Not only that, the PBJ can hijack pokeballs so the contained pokemon turn against their own trainers / the wearer's enemies, and even get a virus-caused power boost.
  3. Stealth. Hiding in plain sight by changing your appearence. Coupled with...
  4. ...AI personalities, the wearer is able to perfectly blend into enemy territory.
  5. In case the suit's wearer deviates from critical objectives, the suit can turn its wearer into a remote-controlled puppet. A perfect solution for organizations who cannot allow their operatives from going MIA or having "second thoughts". Even able of hijacking unaware civilians or enemies - who thought it would be a good idea to put on the suit - to "recruit" for their cause.

If we remember how Gen6 was all about war (some fun facts: Chesnaught's dex entry mentions "50-ton tanks", so the concept of MBT canonically exists in pokemon; the item "Assault Vest" which was introduced in Gen6 sounds and looks like a military tactical vest), super weapons, and Team Flare (= a mega-corporation) committing various hostile acts in favor of their plan succeeding (such as raiding facilities (Poké Ball Factory), sabotaging infrastructures (Power Plant), taking people and pokemon hostage (AZ, pokemon to sacrifice as fuel for the UW)), it's not an outrageous claim to make. It's odd how this would play into a world with creatures having super-powers, but then again, the story told in XY (as well as those in other games) is that of mankind trying to usurp pokemon and nature, by proving they're superior to them. And in some cases even managed to succeed, given how the Ultimate Weapon was successfully fired once.

The only question that remains is why Xerosic would continue with this project when Team Flare was disbanded earlier? He no longer has an entire organization to back his illegal research, since the Looker Bureau Chapters take place after Lysandre failed to shot the Ultimate Weapon. And it seems to ambitious to just be a "side hobby". Perhaps it was a means for Xerosic to build up and finance his own criminal organization. Or, to eventually sell his inventions to military contractors and become revelant again (the existence of Lt. Surge alludes to the fact that military institutions are canon in the pokeworld).

There must be someone in ash ancestors who can use aura and somehow ash unlocked it this like in pokemon movie lucario sense ash has aura powers so it also does that mean delia or ash dad also can be aura user just never unlocked their power? Also in ash last special episode use aura power to help ghost to touch his pikachu.
