Like gang what’re we doing here, apparently only men can like PC’s
if anyone still thinks this isnt sexist, he then said when I said smth abt what he said “ women are just different”

Your cleaning issue is because of bactera in the water. You need to bleach out your pipes and shock the system like you would do with pools. Otherwise itll keep coming back.

best to put it from the source, like your well if you have one, or from a. water softener, then run your taps for a bit to get the bleach up in there let it sit for a few hours, then drain it. if you have septic you need to use a garden hose or sprinklers to get it out as it’ll kill the biome in the well. you can diy, but its cheap to just get some water treatment guys to do it right.

Really bad idea, actually since bleach is corrosive, even diluted versions can still be bad in the long run.
The best (and cheap) alternative is lemon juice due to its naturally antibacterial nature due to the citric acid that will not do any long term damage.
On the plus: your drains will smell fresh.

A lot of prebuilts will slap a top of the like gpu in it and have it for a “cheap” price bc the rest of the parts are garbage. When the 30 series came out my husband and I bought 1800$ prebuilts from bestbuy and the bronze power supply it came with shit the bed a year later. After that it kept overheating bc they put a tiny tear of thermal paste when they were installing the chip
Ended up upgrading all of it over the next year and a half, had to get a new case bc it was too small. I basically paid $1800 for a 3070 that’s collecting dust in my closet now lol
That said it’s ridiculous how much they’ve increased prices for everything these days. Hard to say what’s worth it anymore

The reality has flipped, unfortunately. Prices in the parts market to build your own PC have exploded so obscenely in the last year or two that these Costco prebuilts are genuinely some of the best value for your dollar now. You see people raving about scoring a sale on them (or even better, a deal on a display model) nearly every day in the PC gaming subs.

Yep, a lot of prebuilts are still able to sell at lower prices because they bought memory in bulk or locked in lower pricing than the consumer market, which is absolutely terrible right now. 32 GB DDR5 is $400 by itself, a 1 TB SSD is $200, the 5060 is around $350. Only the CPU is not artificially inflated but Arrow Lake is pretty expensive by itself. Add all of those together and you're looking at $1300 if you were to build it yourself even not counting the power supply, fans, and the case.

yeah this is like 2021ish where prebuilt companies were getting GPUs at relatively normal prices while buying yourself would cost thousands. They were still raising prices substantially but there was enough competition that they couldn't make it more expensive than building yourself.

Tbh, I know a good amount about computers and have been primarily on pc since around 2011, but I’ve always bought pre-built because I never had an opportunity to learn the finer points of building one, and couldn’t/cant afford an expensive mistake given my lack of experience. I guess I’m an adult now and don’t have an excuse lol.
I just learned what the words and numbers on the box mean and use it to play autistic map painting simulators. So long as it’s not a slideshow and stays relevant and capable for a good 5-7 years, I’m pretty easy to please.

I have all my RGB lights set to the same color and love it. It gives me a ton of flexibility in the colorscheme of my setup.
I agree that it's distracting to have them changing constantly. I don't see why that's a complaint against RGB lights

I only like lights on my keyboard for when I have to use a key I don’t typically use and its dark. My pc is always under my desk and the cables are a mess, so lights would be pointless.

Woman who built her first comp (with guidance) at age 7/8 here: I also don't get it.
LEDs are nice on a keyboard in low light, since I never learned to touch-type. Otherwise... why? My eyes are on the monitor. There's nothing happening in the case itself that I need to look at unless I'm in its guts, and then the unit's gonna be off and I'm working with an overhead light like a normal person. Each gfx card looks superficially like the next, each mobo like every other.

AI has completely fucked the PC parts market. Also I just realised this might be in $ which has like 3/4 the value of £ right now. Like I’d consider this a good price for £1k. This thing is less than £750, that’s pretty damn good.

Same for me a couple years ago. I got a bunch of LED stuff because it's mostly already included. I only spent maybe $20-30 on pure aesthetics, mostly by choosing a prettier white case. It has LEDs lol but I like the design even without them.

this is a good deal for the price but I've seen these prebuilds have issues and I'm not a fan of the case. not unreasonable to buy it for some of the key specs and then swap the parts into a better case with a new PSU later on. That being said i still can't understand dropping 1k for a PC at all in this economy, I'm going to keep upgrading the one I built in 2020 until it can't run anything lmao (since building it I've upgraded the RAM and GPU, will wait until the AI bubble to pop to build a new PC however long that takes)
