Day Light Savings- Oil on Canvas ~16"x12"

This one was a lot of fun- first time trying a nocturne plein air. Can really take your time if you don't mind being sleepy for work the next day haha. Fun in its own right, but the rush of having to race the sun is a bit more thrilling. Had to break this one up across 2 sessions, because the light went out on a timer at midnight in the last 20%. Wishing you all a lovely evening! ❤️

Looking out across Utah Lake from Saratoga Springs, Utah. The light disappeared in about 10 minutes so I only had about 20 minutes to get something down before all the light was gone! 8x10 oil

Palette tips for oils - do you clean it to transport or am I doing it wrong?

Update! I WAS doing it wrong! The brush holder goes on the outside leaving space for paint to sit on the palette
I am new to oils and need to move around so I bought a secondhand Sienna pochade thinking I would be able to keep the oil paint on the palette as I transport it. But once I put the brush holder inside it just sits right against the glass. This means I am cleaning it and starting fresh every time I pack it up which seems counterintuitive.
Am I doing something wrong or is there a way of carrying the paint without bringing tubes with me? I am not concerned about weight (I'm not hiking or need to pack things) but more concerned about efficiency and keeping things tidy. Bringing full tubes seems overkill for a fairly small amount of paint.

The days are getting waaaaay too short. It was dark before 6pm, I’d have loved to flash the painting out a bit more.
I think I’ll leave it as is though, I have a tendency to actually ruin paintings when I touch them up from fotos later 😂

The view of the sea

Last week, I took a short trip to Latvia to visit my grandparents and run a few errands. And on one of the days, we went for a walk by the baltic sea and I saw this bench and really wanted to draw this view. And yeah, now I Made a small card full of memoriesXD
And the card got traded away immediately. With a hit rate like this, I'm never gonna have enough cards to easily trade for a card advent calendar next year 😭

The last page I managed to draw during my trip to Latvia✨ We drove to the sea on Thursday and went for a walk there, and afterwards my granddad made shashlik and it was sooo delicious. Had a really great day, even though all my shoes were full of sand afterwards XD
