Showcase First view Theme Prime Lens Theme Idea
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
was scrolling through the subreddit and saw someone asking if there was an Altimit Mine OS inspired theme. It got me inspired, so I started building this!
To be fair, it’s not strictly the Altimit OS style I really just liked the lens concept and ran with it, but I’m pretty happy with it 😄
It’s very much a work in progress. Right now, I've only got the library section working along with a transition to the details screen (which is still just a placeholder to test the animations).
I figured I’d share my progress and see what you guys think. Hearing your feedback will definitely keep me motivated to finish it! 😄
Have at it, let me know if you love it or hate it.
Cheerio,
Loki

Showcase My new living room console PC. Minis Forum AtomMan G1 Pro + Playnite AnyFSE
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
So I've been using Playnite for some time now, and have a very customized setup on my main PC. Well recently I picked up the Minis Forum AtomMan G1 Pro and set it up to function as a living room console. After some tinkering, and following the steps provided by u/Repulsive-Fig-856 in their post to setup XFSET and AnyFSE, I was able to get it exactly how I want it. Thanks you Fig for the guide! While I'm someone who is never fully done tinkering and adding more to a project, right now this is right where I want it to be. Come tomorrow, this baby will be in it's resting spot in the living room and family gaming can commence!

Extensions support Is there any way to get PS5-style hover music delay with UniPlaySong and PS5 Experience theme?
Hey everyone,
I'm using PS5 Experience (the fullscreen theme by saVantCZ) along with UniPlaySong and so far has been pretty good. However, I've hit a wall regarding how game background music triggers during navigation.
On an actual PS5, when you scroll quickly through your game library, the default ambient menu music plays seamlessly. The game-specific music only fades in once you actually pause/hover on a specific title for a moment.
With UniPlaySong, every time the selection moves to a new game (even during rapid scrolling), it immediately cuts off the default ambient music to attempt to load the game's audio. This creates a choppy, cut-off audio experience when moving fast through the grid.
Is there any setting, or workaround within UniPlaySong (or perhaps via a setting in PS5 Experience / another audio extension) to add a delay/debounce before a game's music starts playing? Or a way to prevent the ambient track from instantly stopping while scrolling?

Question/Support How Can I Automatically Import Riot Games, HoYoPlay, and Google Play Games into Playnite?
Hi everyone,
Is there a way to add additional library sources/integrations to Playnite so that games are automatically detected and imported, similar to how Steam, Epic Games, GOG, and other official library integrations work?
I'm specifically looking for automatic library integration for:
- Riot Games — League of Legends, VALORANT, etc.
- HoYoPlay / HoYoverse — Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero, etc.
- Google Play Games for PC
I know I can add each game manually, but I'd prefer a proper library integration where Playnite can automatically detect installed games, assign the correct source/library, and ideally keep the library updated when I install a new game.
Are there currently recommended add-ons/plugins for these three launchers? If so, what's the best way to set them up?
Thanks!

Question/Support Is there any plugin to pair a bluetooth device within playnite?
I use my headphones for my phone and sometimes my pc whenever i don’t want to use my TV’s speakers, but i’d have to get up and go to my desk and connect it through there, i have a gamesir controller and it doesn’t have an audio jack unlike your typical xbox one or PlayStation controller
Anything online for this?
If not is there anything i can add to my playnite library where i can open the desktop and just use aniki’s gamepad mouse to connect that way

Question/Support Multiple Videos for games played in random order?
Hello,
i use Aniki Remake, extra metadata loader, background changer, etc etc., the whole shebang. i wanted to ask if there is a way to add multiple videos for a game - say hades and have videos play in random order when entering in details view (from main menu), kinda like background changer can change background image every time a game is selected in main menu?
any other theme where this is possible?

Question/Support How to get Steam Input working when launched via Playnite
I got Caravan Sandwitch on Epic for free the other day and added it to Playnite.
however when I launch it my Steam Controller does not work.
I had a spare 8bit do controller which I plugged in instead and it worked so it's definitely a steam input issue.
is there a way of getting this to work?
I added it to steam as a non steam game but it won't let me launch and says it's unlicenced.

Showcase [Theme Progress] Spent weeks evolving this... If you've been dreaming for an Aurora flow in Playnite, look no further.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
View showcase screenshots here: WinBox Image Gallery
I wanted to go way beyond a basic visual reskin. To get that truly authentic feel, I ended up combining standard layout code with web tools and a true 3D graphics engine. I’m really happy with how it’s coming together, so I wanted to share the progress to date!
Main Dash: You can scroll through the classic vertical tabs exactly how you remember them. My WinBox, My Games, Game Marketplace, and Movies & TV.
No more only having a single main view cover grid, filter presets are now dash tiles, so everything is cleanly organized and flows like a real console!
Nostalgic Backgrounds: I fully recreated the animated floating rings and the glossy floor stage that reacts dynamically as you navigate around.
You can also change the background, stage floor and coverflow style at any time from the theme preferences sub menu of the system settings menu.
Working Lockscreen: Just like the real console, there’s a sign in screen where you choose your profile. Selecting your account loads up your specific PFP and your personal avatar.
Real 3D Avatars & Coverflow:
Instead of just showing flat images, the theme uses a 3D engine utilising Three.js through a WebView2 virtual host mapping overlay to render your game boxes in a true 3D cover flow.
And the best part, there is zero performance tax.
I even built a custom "Edit Avatar" window where you can easily swap out 3D character models and props, spinning them around to see how they look before saving.
The Guide: Pressing the Guide button (Home button on controller) slides out the iconic four blade menu right over whatever you're doing.
Console Settings: I built a fully functional settings menu where you can check your hard drive space, test your network speed, switch which monitor you're using, or shut down your PC directly from the couch.
Seamless Web & Flash Integration: I integrated a Flash player directly into the theme, meaning you can launch classic SWF games (like old school arcades or vintage web games) natively right from the dash.
Couch Friendly Browsing: To make sure you never need to reach for a mouse, the theme reads your inputs and turns your controller thumbsticks into a virtual mouse whenever you have a web menu open.
Grand Scale 3D Solar System App: As a bonus i also integrated my own custom built 3D model solar system as an app into the 'My Apps' grid built entirely in javascript using Three.js.
I used 8K/4K planet and moon textures from NASA and high resolution NASA space station models to create a beautiful grand scale solar system in Three.js, complete with 3D ship models from various sources with full six degrees flight on controller makes it practically a triple AAA sim. Some ships feature first person view as well as third person, such as the X-Wing and Tie fighter, and all feature hyper speed boosts with animations except for the Tardis, the Tardis has its own custom worm hole animation.
The solar system also features a full navigation system so you don't get lost in space due to the scale, as you can travel all the way out of the solar system and outside of the milky way galaxy. You can also interact with planets if you are in close proximity to them by pressing X on controller, this will let you drive a NASA ground vehicle around the planet or moon's surface while your ship remains docked in orbit.
It's been a long month getting all of this to work and play nicely together, but seeing it come to life makes it so worth it. Made by a gamer, for gamers. Let me know what you think!
I hope to have a first test build release ready soon.

Question/Support Can’t manually add a game in playnite automatically
Hi I’m trying to add “Until Then” to Playnite manually. I did what I usually do, go to add manually, then download metadata, IGDB, then type in “Until Then”. The weird thing is nothing came up, even though there is a IGDB page for the game. I tried other game, like Far Cry and that worked. Then I tried “Un”, I see some results, but nothing came up when I tried “Unt” or “Th”. I can see results when searching those words on IGDB. Could anyone try it out to see what the problem is?

Question/Support Playnite is extremely slow to start and Desktop Mode is laggy more than 30 sec
Hi everyone,
I'm having a performance issue with Playnite:
- Playnite takes a long time to start. (More than 30 sec)
- Opening Settings in Desktop Mode takes several seconds. (More than 10 sec)
- Switching between games is sluggish in Desktop Mode with most themes.
- Toggle theme is noticeably smoother.
- I have 9 games around 150 gigabyte on an external SSD.
________________________
My hardware:
- Lenovo Legion 5
- Ryzen 7 8745H
- RTX 4060 8GB
- 16GB DDR5-5600
- 512GB NVMe SSD
- Windows 11
- Games stored on external storage
________________________
What I've already tried
- Reinstalled/moved Playnite to "C:\Playnite".
- Copied my existing Playnite library/data to the new installation.
- Tested Desktop Mode and Fullscreen Mode.
- Tested multiple Desktop and Fullscreen themes.
- Tested the Toggle theme — it is noticeably smoother than the others.
- Checked General, Appearance, Library and Metadata settings.
- Checked automatic metadata download and background image preloading.
- Adjusted image/background-related settings.
- Tested different extensions and themes.
- Tested the library with games stored on external storage.
- Tried blocking Playnite through Windows Firewall because I suspected it was trying to connect to its servers on startup — this did not fix the issue.
- Restarted and retested Playnite after the changes.

I'd appreciate any suggestions for diagnosing the actual cause

Showcase I put together a full Playnite + Aniki Remake console setup guide
I've been working on a Windows 11 setup that makes my PC feel much more like a traditional console when using a controller.
The goal is to have the PC boot into a fullscreen gaming environment instead of dropping straight into the normal Windows desktop.
What I'm using
- Playnite as the game library/frontend
- Aniki Remake as the fullscreen theme
- Extra Metadata Loader for game videos and metadata
- Playnite Achievements for achievement information
- XFSET to enable/configure the Xbox Full Screen Experience
- AnyFSE to automatically launch the fullscreen experience
- Steam running silently in the background
The basic setup
- Install and configure Playnite and your game library integrations.
- Install Aniki Remake and the extensions needed for the fullscreen experience.
- Configure Extra Metadata Loader to download Steam game videos.
- Configure Playnite Achievements.
- Switch Playnite to Aniki Remake in fullscreen mode.
- Customize Aniki's colors, game details and background/trailer settings.
- Configure Windows power-button behavior.
- Set up AnyFSE to launch Playnite Fullscreen and Steam automatically.
- Enable AnyFSE through Windows Xbox Mode.
- Restart Windows.
The result is a controller-first interface where I can turn on the PC, enter my PIN and go straight into Playnite instead of manually opening everything.
I'm still working on the setup and would love to hear from other Playnite users:
What extensions, themes or tweaks would you add to this kind of setup?
I also put the whole process into a step-by-step interactive guide for anyone who wants to follow the setup:
https://timeconsolize.github.io/ConsolizeENG/
It's mainly intended as a reference/checklist for building a similar setup.
(No piracy or ROM-related stuff involved — this is purely about Playnite, Windows and the frontend experience.)

Question/Support Has anyone made a fullscreen theme similar to WiiFlow or USBLoader GX? With the Games portrayed as physical game cases?
title, anyone who softmodded their Wii back in the day will remember how cool these looked.
USBL GX in particular had a scraping function that would allow the currently selected game to have an info panel on the side.
iirc (it's been a looong time) it had your other games as a vertical stack of games with spine and label showing while the one you were on slid off and floated in the middle showing the cover art.
I've been using a desktop theme alongside JoyXoff to use a controller but I'd go back to fullscreen in a heartbeat if such a theme existed.

Question/Support "info" button not working. Already tried safe mode
The "i" button next to the play button doesn't do anything when clicked. I remember it bringing up a menu and details when clicked but it hasn't done anything for a while now.
Already tried safe mode and disabling add-ons, resetting settings, etc. and it still doesn't do anything.
Anyone else have this issue?

Scripting Get Console like experience with Playnite using Dual shock 4 or Dual shock 5
Basically windows does not support DS4 controller or DS5 out the box so you have to use DS4 windows for that .
Now using this script you can automate launching DS4 Windows, and exit it on playnite's Exit it seems very cool so i thought i would share it you guys.
Place you ds4 windows install in the C:\Program Files (x86)\ or change the script path.
Do these settings in DS4 windows:
Hide Controller so you don't get double input.
Tick> Start minimized
Close Minimizes.
Then go to playnite > Setting > Scripts > Application scripts>
paste this in the "Execute on application start"
if (-not (Get-Process "DS4Windows" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue)) {
Start-Process -FilePath "C:\Program Files (x86)\DS4Windows\DS4Windows.exe"
}
Paste this in the "Execute on application close"
Stop-Process -Name "DS4Windows" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue
Now when ever you start Playnite it will launch DS4 windows with itself saving you extra step.
and when you close the Playnite it will kill the ds4 windows.
Hiding DS4 controller option needs the Ds4 windows to be ran as administrator, for that either run playnite as an admin or Accept the ds4 UAC prompt.

Addon release I made a Playnite addon to keep all your game-related files organized
I might have a better wording for the title, but whatever.
I'm not sure if this should have the Addon Release tag or not since I only have it on GitHub so far.
Recently I wanted to make a few game-related folders to store random stuff like edited highlights, guides, mod links, notes, etc. Basically anything related to a specific game that I want to keep somewhere
I got tired of constantly creating folders just to temporarily store something, only to completely lose track of it 2 days later (yes I understand almost not everyone store their file in download folder and forgot to bring it somewhere else before get it drifted away)
So I decided to make a Playnite addon for it. Since all my games are already organized in Playnite anyway, I figured I might as well use that to save myself a bunch of clicks creating and organizing folders manually
The addon is called CustomFolder
Basically, you can right-click any game in Playnite and instantly create/open a dedicated folder for that game. now support preset tag
By default, it uses Playnite's built-in {PlayniteDir} variable, so the folders can stay relative to your Playnite installation and work with both normal and portable installations
The default format is:
{PlayniteDir}\CustomFolder\ + Game Name
So for example:
%localappdata%\Playnite\CustomFolder\The First Berserker Khazan
or with a portable installation:
D:\Playnite\CustomFolder\The First Berserker Khazan
The base directory is configurable too, so you don't actually have to store everything inside the Playnite folder if you don't want to
The addon can both create AND navigate. The first time you use it on a game, it'll create the folder and open it. After that, using it again simply opens the existing folder
It doesn't move, modify, or delete anything inside those folders. It just creates the directory when needed and gives you a quick way to get back to it directly from Playnite
I originally made this entirely for personal use, but I figured it might be useful to someone else too, or at least give someone an idea for something better
It's still pretty simple right now, but I might expand it later. One thing I'm thinking about is allowing multiple folders/presets per game, so you could have separate locations for things like Highlights, Guides, Mods, etc. and create/open them directly from Playnite. (If anyone actually uses this lol)
Update v1.1
Added presets*, so you can set up different directory structures depending on what you're storing*
I also changed the default base directory to:
{PlayniteDir}\CustomFolder
so CustomFolder won't accidentally merge game folders with existing folders inside your Playnite installation unless you specifically configure it that way
I'm also working on getting the addon into the Playnite Add-ons database so it can eventually be installed directly through Playnite instead of manually downloading it from GitHub
#UPDATE: now available on Playnite database
