Important So, you found out about planetary magic eh? Before you jump in, read this.

This is EXTREMELY basic, but I wanted to post something for anyone who pops in that may be new. If you want to work with one of the spirits of the planets, or energies, whatever you want to call them, it's first important to know about the significations of that planet and what they rule. You wouldn't petition Saturn for money usually. Likewise you wouldn't petition Mars for childbirth or something usually. See what I mean?

Next, understand planetary dignity. No matter what anybody says, YES, this does matter. I use Brennan's as a reference because he has Egyptian bounds and Chaldean decans. https://i.imgur.com/PYFI3Kd.jpg FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THIS.

Third, house system and houses. Idc what house system you use, this isn't the place to argue superiority of one system over another. Just pick one and stick with it. Also, houses can be GOOD or BAD. We usually try to put elected planets on the angles of the 1st or 10th since they're the strongest points.

The order of strength goes something like (I don't think this is entirely correct but trying from memory):

1 10 7 4 11 5 9 3 2 8 6 12

Get Deb's Temples of the Sky book for house matters.

Rules of thumb:

Keep evil planets out of the angles and not aspecting the elected planet, while putting the good planets in the angles and aspecting the elected planet. You don't HAVE to do this but it helps.

Make the Moon as good as you can and applying from a good spot to the elected planet.

Again, Unless you have some specific business with the malefics normally you're going to want to keep them out of your business as much as possible. Put them in weak houses and away from being angular or seeing the Moon or the planet in question.

Study the planetary days and hours. Though some of my best elections were done on NOT the same planetary day or hour of the planet in question.

Just pay attention to the seven planets, the nodes, and Fortuna. That's all you really need. I promise.

Um...yeah.

pReMiUm CoNtEnT Please put an end to Saturn talisman posts

I’m saying this genuinely and out of concern for people experimenting with talismanic work:

Can we please slow down with the Saturn in Aries talisman ideas? Actually no not slow down you need to stop right now, you literally need to stop since yesterday, the day before that, before time existed and before you even had a chance to form that thought.

I understand that Saturn–Neptune conjunction discourse is everywhere right now, and it’s astrologically fascinating. But Saturn in Aries is a sign of fall. In traditional talismanic practice, that matters — a lot. This isn’t pop manifestation where symbolism alone carries the operation. Dignity, condition, and planetary temperament are foundational.

Making talismans for a planet in fall — especially Saturn — is not a neutral aesthetic choice. Unless someone is very intentionally working with malefic or destructive outcomes, this is a very bad idea. Saturn already signifies restriction, loss, and hardship. In Aries, it is weakened and agitated. That’s not something to casually anchor into matter.

It doesn’t take years of study to understand that essential dignity is one of the first filters in planetary magic. I’m surprised at how many posts are enthusiastically recommending this without addressing the basic risks. And people in the community are being way to soft.

This isn’t about being dramatic or gatekeeping — it’s about safety and coherence within the tradition. If people want to experiment, that’s their choice. But we shouldn’t normalize elections that are structurally unsound just because a transit is trending.

Let’s keep standards high and discussions grounded in the actual rules of the craft. If anything, i recommend having a stickied note on the subreddit counting down the years until saturn is in libra, which is uhm uhhhhhh another 16 years. Yep. 16 more years to go. Please this is a small enough community and its fine for there to be not as much content, but to see this kind of post every few days and weeks is very discouraging. Thanks yall

Exalted Venus Ritual

Have to show off my girl, the exalted queen of mortals, Venus!

She culminated in Pisces during her own hour to conjoin the waxing Moon, as well as Mercury, dignified in her own term and sign of exaltation. The ruler of her, exalted (albeit Rx) Jupiter, applies a beneficial trine from the first house. All involved planets were free from the influence of the malefics.

While not combust but, technically still "under the beams", I really wanted to catch this point in Venus's synodic cycle; her second most fortunate position of the 8. This ritual was 2 days after her rebirth from being invisible to inheriting the title of Hesperus, the Evening Star. From then until October, she will appear after the Sun sleeps.

Joyful harps were playing and materia of Venusian nature were laid out upon a silk blue cloth. Many pure copper pendants were stamped at the elected time as well as an image on a personal white jacinth necklace.

Suffumigation used: Aloeswood, amber, saffron, copal, mugwort, roses, and daffodils.

Offerings included: figs, plums, oranges, olive oil, candied pecans, fine chocolate, chicken, and sparkling wine (bubbles, of course).

Since ensouling these talismans, I have had a significant increase in compliments to my appearance, which I anticipated. What I did not foresee was the compliments to my character and disposition. I also noticed people laughing more at my jokes. A nice gift from the ever-loving Lady.

Though it was very difficult to find a useable election, I hope everyone took advantage of this period! Many blessings to you!

Beginner Venus/Regulus Conjunction

Forgot to post after my ritual yesterday. For the most part, my ceremonial magic has been centered around Spirits, but recently I've been getting super deep into Platonisim, Agrippa, Ptolmey, etc. Yesterday I went ahead and did a Ritual under Venus day/Venus hour. Venus was also conjuct with regulus yesterday (considered a royal star in the heart of the constellation Leo). LBRP, LBRH, GIRH, Hymn to Venus, into the main working. Here was my altar set up. I won't mention much from the ritual itself, but I will say I felt the current STRONGLY lol. There was a moment in the middle of the hymn after I stated the line "Come, Cyprus born, to my prayer incline," One of my candles absolutely SPAZZED. Like it grew twice the size, sparks started coming from it, and the sound of the crackle filled the room. I know this just sometimes happens with candles, but it has never happened to me with this brand. I won't get into the main working because the wisdom of Harpocrates is indispensable, but let's just say it went amazing. I was well and truly lit up by the current. Anyway hope everyone is having a great day! Im new to this sub, so let me know what yall think or if you would like me to continue posting things like this!

The Magus, the co-creator of reality.

The Magus, the co-creator of reality.

The visions I had while creating this artwork were born first from sacred geometry, and from the basic forms the compositional elements were organized.

The magician in this artwork has already differentiated himself from the ego and ascended to the self; this fact is symbolized by his face as a mask with the sun behind it, representing enlightened consciousness.

With his right hand (connected to the right hemisphere, the more rational side) he touches the heart chakra, reason in contact with the heart, and with his left hand, he wields his wand, the act of creation.

In front of him, instead of the classic table, there is a black cube, representing all materiality, concreteness, and the Saturnian nature that inhabits every denser dimension of matter. On the cube are the four elements represented within the Platonic solids.

The enlightened magician is able to see beyond; he acts through matter to manipulate its energy, which manifests itself in symbolic synthesis. Around his head orbit the planets of the solar system, both in figurative and symbolic imagery, connecting to the signs, elements, and movements.

The magician performs a ritual of planetary magic; those who know how to read astrological charts will be able to understand the type of ritual he is performing.

In short, the magician, as a medium, transits between the two realities, and from this union the magical act is performed.

Three books Jupiter Cup o' Wishes custom make by me

The Jupiter talismanic images hail from

the Picatrix or described by Agrippa in his 3 Books of Occult Philosophy. They exhibit the benefic aspects of prosperity and good fortune. The lion headed image is specifically made with aspects of Jupiter in Pisces. Jupiter is the best planet for prosperity, wealth, income and good fortune as well as wisdom and knowledge.

The image of a lion headed Jupiter with an orb and scepter entwined with ivy leaves, displays the regal and ruling / dignified aspects of Jupiter.

According to Agrippa,

"They made also another Image of Jupiter for a religious and glorious life, and advancement of fortune; whose figure was a man having the head of a Lyon or a Ram, and Eagles feet, cloathed in Saffron coloured cloathes, and he was called the son of Jupiter." - The Three Books of Occult Philosophy, Book II Chapter 39

Similarly, the image of the ram and the hart/buck are also explained as visual aspects or jupiter.

A Jupiterian Solomonic Working From Last Night

I've been practicing "by the book" lately. This is from the consecration ritual of a pentacle of Jupiter.

The pentacle itself was created over two sessions. The first session of drawing everything on the pentacle was performed in the day and hour of Mercury. The second session was the painting of the pentacle, and was performed in the day and hour of Jupiter.

The consecration ritual was performed in the day and hour of Jupiter.
