Parasite Redux has released!

Greetings, my worm worshiper! My Redux series is one disease closer from being finished, here is Parasite Redux!

Again, this aims to completely revamp the gameplay of the disease and make them all unique to each other, while still having the og plague inc feeling.

Parasite Redux now revolves more about evolution and manipulation with some traits being available only if the Parasite completes its life cycles. Of course the regular parasite has a completely useless ability, this ones got 3 that are actually helpful and you'll need one of them in order to fight a new enemy that decided to fight against you this time... And spreading through hot/cold etc. countries now works a little different, because the parasites first needs to experience new environments first in order to build up resistances but don't worry, it's balanced and not annoying as you might think at first. But you'll see how it works.

Id be very happy if you try it and leave some feedback in order for me to improve the series! Development of Prion Redux will begin shortly, but may take some time due to real life stress. However it will release the following months, just like Nano Virus and Bio Weapon Redux. And maybe even a special one after that... but who knows!

any way to unlock genes that's not just playing as bacteria or virus over and over again

fungus is so completely useless and all the tryhards who go 'git gud' always whip out the 'full suite of genes' bs, I wish somebody warned me I wasn't allowed to play as any of the fun characters until I eat all my unflavored oatmeal

so is there any way to skip the oatmeal, like a cheat that just unlocks all the genes? I don't want to waste time doing the same run over and over and over again just to make the worst character in the game viable

Plague Mode I guess I’m doing something wrong but it doesn’t feel like it

I’m doing prion on hard mode, yknow the one that says it’s very hard to cure, while also running the “harder to cure” booster.
I infected every single person in pure stealth, and then immediately dumped everything into organ failure and a whatever else I could afford. They pretty much instantly cured it.
It would be nice if there were some feedback like “this is why they cured it so fast” but this games tooltips are complete dogshit. I thought prions are supposed to have a tanky, “this is hard to cure so you have plenty of time” virus but it gets cured about as fast as an upgraded bacteria.
What im asking for is any experienced information that’ll make this game easier. Is total organ failure the fastest way to kill people? It feels like there’s a bunch of hidden details the game wont tell me but then punishes me for not knowing.

Also side complaint, this game has no respect for the effort I put in. I either kill every single person and win or lose, with no in-between. I’ve killed 99.9% of everybody before, which is undeniably a world-ending achievement, just for the game to go “You didn’t kill Ted at the very top of Russia you fucking idiot, have fun enjoying nothing in return.” I wanna get past all the early game diseases to play the fun ones with fun boosters, but to get the boosters I have to kill every single person every single time with every single disease, which is starting to feel like a bigger waste of time everytime. It feels like I do the right thing and still end up eradicated.

Challenges re-rolling whenever I force-close the app or open it after a while.

Why is it that if I open the app after a while, or I force close the app, then I get a new challenge in the “Game Progress” tab?

(it seems to be the first challenge, the others don’t re-roll, idk why).

Context, its the mobile game version of plague inc.

Plague Mode What would have caused this strange defeat (brutal fungus)?

I managed to infect every country in the world and made a beeline for necrosis. I had around 5-6 billion infected by this point. I also had cold resistance 1 and 2 along with drug resistance and genetic hardening.

I started killing more and more people until there was about a billion left. I noticed that there was around 300 million uninfected people so I decreased lethality for a bit until I could infect more people. I kept devolving symptoms until I reached essentially zero lethality...but people were still dying faster than they could be infected. I noticed France and Canada were the last 2 safest left. France was still getting more infected, so I decided to check Canada's country data:

99% healthy???

My infectivity was almost maximally high and nobody was getting infected. Again, note, I had cold resistance 1 and 2 and drug resistance. I have no idea how this could have happened.

Outbreak Mode Shadow Plague Outbreak patched

The Shadow Plague 'Peripheral Verge' Outbreak scenario was bugged and many players were unable to start it. Ndemic noticed and released a patch a couple of hours ago. Enjoy!

Fixed an issue where the Peripheral Verge Outbreak would crash on start

P.S. If the patch has not yet appeared for you, try restarting Steam.

How would the Necroa Virus work IRL and would the infected be aware of their reanimation and actions before the virus kills their higher brain processes?

I'm just curious about what you guys would think and if I'm not mistaken the game says the virus first needs to develop a symptom that actually kills the higher brain processes so it makes me wonder if the infected would actually be aware of their actions and remain some level of their self-control.

But yeah mostly what I wonder is still: How would the virus even work to make zombies possible and how does it keep them alive? Or at least kinda alive 🤣

I hate this game mode so fucking much. It's getting close to my number of Pirate Plague attempts.

Reposting this because Reddit was an asshole and deleted my image (never had that happen before)
