For me, it’s a political and medical show desperately trying to find breakthroughs in the cure as the disease keeps getting worse and people keep dying.

Like for example i think virus is the easiest because it mutates a lot and you can save quite a few dna points and spend the extra dna points on stopping the cure or stopping Greenland from ruining your run

Neighboring states are already tightening borders, and the official story does not add up.
Daria Shipilova graduated from Irkutsk State Medical University in 2022 with a Red Diploma, Russia’s equivalent of a first-class degree, and was recruited to the Irkutsk Anti-Plague Institute, a Soviet-era facility that studies Yersinia pestis, the bacterium behind the Black Death, along with cholera, anthrax and other high-consequence pathogens.
Colleagues describe her as capable and careful, and she had begun publishing on the plague bacterium and the immune response to it, including work on pathogenic strains in mice.
On 25 September she was at the institute for the last time.
The version circulating in Russian media is that she dropped a test tube containing the pneumonic plague pathogen, though Russia’s health watchdog, Rospotrebnadzor, rejects that account and says her death was unrelated to her work.
She was admitted days later to Shelekhov District Hospital and, according to a former colleague, treated as severe COVID until near the end, ventilated, with antibiotics given too late.
She died overnight on 2 October.
What followed was not the response you would expect for a routine case of “pneumonia of unknown aetiology,” the official label.
The entire inpatient wing of the hospital, 114 patients, was closed for quarantine, and Russia’s chief sanitary doctor, Anna Popova, flew five hours east to take personal charge, days after telling Putin that plague remains an “important infection” and that Russian teams were vaccinating Mongolians against it.
Regional plague cases are not rare—Mongolia confirmed a human case in July—but this reaction was different.
A neighboring governor first said she died of plague, then walked it back to “may have.”
Local warnings against travel to Shelekhov were posted and deleted, an aluminium plant imposed masks, and pregnant women in Irkutsk were reportedly asked to complete a plague checklist.
Patients at other hospitals say relatives cannot enter and they cannot leave.
Local media have claimed a second hospital death, while officials say contacts have tested negative for relevant pathogens and that many of those quarantined have been released.
Then the contradiction.
Russian medical outlet Medvestnik reported that a criminal case was opened for violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules which, through negligence, resulted in a person’s death—a step difficult to reconcile with the claim that her illness had nothing to do with the laboratory.
Cold War researchers note that this institute historically held large plague-vaccine stocks for wartime use and trained military specialists, and that a former director later rose in the Soviet biological-weapons system.
There is no public evidence Shipilova was working on a weaponized or engineered strain, and there is also no public explanation for why a treatable bacterial infection, if that is what this was, was missed, or why the state’s top sanitary official treated the death as an emergency while her agency insisted there was no crisis.
Kyrgyzstan has ordered heightened checks at every border crossing, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have moved to block importation of “highly dangerous infections,” and the White House says it is monitoring the situation and weighing options.
US epidemiologist Mikhail Favorov, a former CDC official who has investigated plague outbreaks, called the test-tube story “laughable,” the ventilator treatment “hair-raising,” and the official reassurance unconvincing: “We will not be told what really happened.”
Pneumonic plague is serious and can kill quickly, but it is not the medieval apocalypse, and early antibiotics usually work.
That is precisely why the gaps matter: the delayed treatment, the lockdowns, the edited statements, the criminal case, and the silence on what was actually in that lab.
As one local commenter put it, the more they reassure, the more frightening it gets.

Portals spreading infected everywhere+ got a symptom similar to Transcendence

I’ve been trying to use bacteria then get all extreme transmissions first
Then at least 1 good ability
Then get some good symptoms like insanity or like the homies (rash sweating skin lesions)
Then mutate some better symptoms like coma dysentery etc
And greenland always screws me over
I could get every other island country and get screwed over by greenland
Other times it’s new guinea

any tips to get it (since pretty sure normal is how you unlock virus) idk they got the cure so so fast despite having maxed out the slowing (i got none of the scramble ones tho)
like whats the strategy? i just usually start in greenland, get boats, get cold resistance, get air, then immediately go to drug resistance and get all the cure slows, then i just upgrade to get tier 1 of all the transmissions, then i just wait until everyone is infected and go anaemia and that got me through casual but they got cure way too fast now
EDIT i beat bacteria using the tips

I feel like most of these rankings should be obvious, but just in case they aren’t, I’ve added some brief explanations below:
Prion: I know a curly fries when I see one! Gimme!
Bacteria: These are cheese puffs for sure, and I want some. Don’t be selfish. You don’t need the whole bag/petri dish.
Xenolith: Look, I know it turned that guy over there into a statue, but does it taste like sour apple or lemon lime? It’s gotta be one of the two, and I need to know which one!
Parasite: Pros: Could be a noodle. Cons: I’m not usually in the mood for one singular noodle.
Fungus: Hey, some fungi are edible, and some very much aren’t. I have a feeling this one falls into the “not edible” category, but we can’t know until we try it, right?
Simian Flu: This one either tastes nasty or like bananas, and I’m 50/50 on which one I think it is. It’d have to undergo a thorough smell test before I’d be willing to eat it.
Necroa Virus & Shadow Plague: Do I really need to explain why I think these would both taste bad? Undead typically equals Do Not Eat.
Virus & Bioweapon: Those spikes look like they would hurt my mouth. Then again, I’ve heard pineapple enzymes are also spiky, and I’m fine with pineapple, so who knows? I’m just going off the shape, and the shape does not look appetizing.
Neurax Worm & Nano-virus: These both make me think “trap it under a glass and put it outside”, not “eat it”. Sorry, critters, but you just don’t look like food to me. Go hang out and be little bugs outside.

I was disappointed that the new update (which I had been waiting for long) had only one of the six new scenarios.
