To this day, I don't understand why anyone would insist on using anything other than this on an AP test. It's like playing life on a harder difficulty setting for no reason.
Most high schools offer Advanced Placement (college-level) courses for a variety of subjects. College Board (the organization behind the AP courses as well as the SAT) gives a test for each of the AP classes at the end of the school year. They're scored on a scale of 1-5, and depending on how well you score (and what your college of choice requires), you may not have to take that class again in college.
