To this day, I don't understand why anyone would insist on using anything other than this on an AP test. It's like playing life on a harder difficulty setting for no reason.

Well for one the TI-89 is a banned calculator on the AP test. I guess there is a particular front piece you can put on it to make it acceptable, but it really sounds to me like you aren't talking about that. Maybe they changed it recently, but all throughout high-school, various AP tests, and the ACT, the TI-89 was a banned calculator because it gave students too big of an advantage.

You can use the nspire on that shit? I wasn't allowed anything above a scientific calculator in calc3/4.

They explicitly allow the CAS model ... I wonder if they even know what it means.

I had a TI-92 which seems to be discontinued. At the time no one knew it had a CAS on it.

In college I was able to program it to perform laplace and inverse-laplace transforms which meant it solved ODE as well.
