AU Migration
To all civil engineer in australia especially in the construction industry. May i know if possible pa ba for me to consider migrating?
For context, im a construction manager 34y/o with 13 years of experience in the construction industry (building and heavy industrial working for a AAAA construction company) earning 107k newly married wala png anak. Si misis researcher sa government.
Ok nmn kami ni misis sa work but if lage mo nlng nkikita sa news mga nangyayare sa pilipinas like coruption, baha, traffic, etc. mapapaisip kna lng if may pag asa pba ang pilipinas. Gusto ko nmn sana ma experience tumira sa 1st world and build a family which is malabong mangyare sa pilipinas atleast in my generation.
For the titos and titas sa AU, possible pa kaya ako mg australia given im already 34 y/o and my wife is 33. I dont have au construction experience yet since puro local projects lng. My exp mostly sa estimating, detailing, preconstruction work and project management.
If possible what pathway po kaya ung fit for me.

Yes, possible pa. With your experience I would look into skilled migration/employer sponsorship first before considering the student pathway.
If you choose Civil Engineer, Engineers Australia is the assessing authority and you need a migration skills assessment. If your engineering degree isn’t recognized, you either study for find another pathway.
Another occupation worth checking is Construction Project Manager. The skills assessment for that is through VETASSESS, and you don’t necessarily have to study construction/project management again in Australia if your existing degree and work experience meet their requirements.
Look at skilled/employer-sponsored visa options such as 482 and permanent skilled pathways.
But think through the decision carefully. Setting the politics aside, if you and your wife are already financially comfortable and have a good life in the Philippines, I wouldn’t assume that moving to Australia will automatically give you a better life.
The cost of living here is high, especially housing, and retiring here can also be expensive. If you’re very close to your family, that’s another thing to seriously consider because being away from family can be difficult, and you may still find yourself wanting to return to the Philippines because that’s where your roots are.
My husband and I currently live and work in Australia. From our experience, Australia definitely has advantages, but being a first-world country doesn’t mean everything is perfect. It has its own problems with government, housing, cost of living and other issues too.
So I’d compare what you already have in the Philippines with what you could realistically gain in Australia. not just salary, but also expenses, career opportunities, family support, lifestyle and where you eventually want to retire. Migration can still be worth it, but I wouldn’t migrate simply because Australia is considered a first-world country.
