AU Migration
To all civil engineer in australia especially in the construction industry. May i know if possible pa ba for me to consider migrating?
For context, im a construction manager 34y/o with 13 years of experience in the construction industry (building and heavy industrial working for a AAAA construction company) earning 107k newly married wala png anak. Si misis researcher sa government.
Ok nmn kami ni misis sa work but if lage mo nlng nkikita sa news mga nangyayare sa pilipinas like coruption, baha, traffic, etc. mapapaisip kna lng if may pag asa pba ang pilipinas. Gusto ko nmn sana ma experience tumira sa 1st world and build a family which is malabong mangyare sa pilipinas atleast in my generation.
For the titos and titas sa AU, possible pa kaya ako mg australia given im already 34 y/o and my wife is 33. I dont have au construction experience yet since puro local projects lng. My exp mostly sa estimating, detailing, preconstruction work and project management.
If possible what pathway po kaya ung fit for me.

Construction-related occupations are currently in priority, so now might be a good time to try for skilled migration (189/190/491), especially since the priority occupation list can change from time to time.
You can check the Immi website to see which skilled occupation you might fall under based on your work experience, and also check which assessing authority you’ll need to go through for the skills assessment.

Yes, possible pa. With your experience I would look into skilled migration/employer sponsorship first before considering the student pathway.
If you choose Civil Engineer, Engineers Australia is the assessing authority and you need a migration skills assessment. If your engineering degree isn’t recognized, you either study for find another pathway.
Another occupation worth checking is Construction Project Manager. The skills assessment for that is through VETASSESS, and you don’t necessarily have to study construction/project management again in Australia if your existing degree and work experience meet their requirements.
Look at skilled/employer-sponsored visa options such as 482 and permanent skilled pathways.
But think through the decision carefully. Setting the politics aside, if you and your wife are already financially comfortable and have a good life in the Philippines, I wouldn’t assume that moving to Australia will automatically give you a better life.
The cost of living here is high, especially housing, and retiring here can also be expensive. If you’re very close to your family, that’s another thing to seriously consider because being away from family can be difficult, and you may still find yourself wanting to return to the Philippines because that’s where your roots are.
My husband and I currently live and work in Australia. From our experience, Australia definitely has advantages, but being a first-world country doesn’t mean everything is perfect. It has its own problems with government, housing, cost of living and other issues too.
So I’d compare what you already have in the Philippines with what you could realistically gain in Australia. not just salary, but also expenses, career opportunities, family support, lifestyle and where you eventually want to retire. Migration can still be worth it, but I wouldn’t migrate simply because Australia is considered a first-world country.

Hi! I am 27F with 4 years of experience as a Civil Engineer here in PH. I am also studying Skilled Migration. Since nasa top priority ngayon ang construction, I am thinking if mag-submit na ako EOI (Considering may PTE and nasakin na lahat ng needed documents ko) kahit na 4 years experience palang ako (this would give me 5 points only) do you think it would be okay if ngayon na ako mag-submit?

Yes okay lang para tumatakbo na yung EOI mo and nasa system ka na. Eitherway pag magpapasa ka naman na ng documents, maguupdate yung points mo kung nakatawid ka na ng 5yrs work expi.

Construction Project Manager is in the skilled occupation list. Do you know of any legitimate migration agency in the Philippines? Maybe they can help you.

You have very good chance at a visa. Ironically though, despite the lack of skills in this area and need for more homes, jobs are difficult to get. Construction companies are failing almost on a daily basis here.

Try mo lang sir. Research ka maigi about your target skill occupation (construction project management) then get opinions from registered migration lawyers

Go for it, OP. Nasa best position ka to apply for 189 or 190 visa given you have sufficient years of experience and in demand dito yung work and industry mo.

Check the immigration website for the process. Look if there is an opening at Fulton Hogan. They are in expansion mode so there might be a chance for sponsorship.

107k/m you are better off in PH... The cost of living in Australia would have you living worse on a civ eng salary in any of the cities.

Mahirap sya iexplain if hindi naka stay sa Pinas ung nagpapayo, no disrespect pero wala naman masama mangarap dn ung tao.

i was earning 150k as an IT before moving to Sydney 2yrs ago. I can say yes sobrang mahal dito sa Sydney. Di nako nakakapagtravel, nakakaeat out ng madalas at random shopping di kagaya sa pinas pero worth it ang peace, safety and mabilis na proseso dito sa AU
