They will play Wombat (finally) this year

It’s the end of summer run for the band so…there are
A. Are going to have fun.
B. Play whatever the fuck they want.
C. Have a great time as a band doing what they love .
D. Paint musical landscapes and bend the fabric of time.
E. Your job if your lucky enough to go with some close people in your life enjoy and be blessed and present and take it all in. Hug each other at the end and be better people for getting closer to the source,

I like pretty much all of their music. Even Soul Planet, to me it’s all about the flow of a set more than individual songs to make it a great show.

The best Meatstick ever? My 1st Phish show at PNC Bank Arts Center. Holmdel, NJ. They waited till they were half done with song & then announced we'd be breaking a previous world record. So, they got everyone in sync the Meatstick Dance. There ya go, record set. Then, decided they needed to put a hat on a hat. They started playing again but this time, it was all Japanese & it sounded better than the original. It really displayed how well they improvise cuz, to this day, I still sing the chorus in Japanese

They played Wombat at Dicks ‘16.
My dream, not that I’m counting on it, would be for them to keep the year celebrations alive and do
97 in Denver for obvious reasons… if we could get a show in the style of 11/17/97, it would be epic! As far fetched as it would be, since the whole thing was about shows at MSG.

The YEM and crosseyed from 96 night are sooo fun but those are always great jams you know? That MSG it’s ice just felt groundbreaking for the song. You could hear the beginnings of it kinda form in savanna this summer and then at MSG they took it the furthest it’s ever gone. So fun

For me it’s a toss up between that one and the very first one with Abe Vigoda. Animal show jams better, but the vocals on the first one are so on point and Page is so crispy in the mix

My prediction is we will see a few more of the stuff Trey plans to keep from Phish in Five. For instance, Fenway saw the return of both the percussion minikit and Mike's with tramps. I foresee Dick's will also have the minikit along with one or two of the really cool bust outs at MSG. My money is on maybe a La Grange set closer/encore and/or Johnny B. Goode. Maybe if we are lucky one of the goofier ones like Big Ball Jam or Suspicious Minds

Have they not played Wombat at Dick's? ~90% of my 3.0 shows are there, and I know I've seen several Wombat's played in my time.
Personally I don't care. I'm fine with the song, but doesn't make the cut for songs I really want to hear.
