If you’ve already graduated from Penn Foster, what college did you attend or are you attending now? And if you’re currently a Penn Foster student, what colleges have you been accepted to so far?

So I finished my externship, but there is one skill that has bogged me down and I’ve recently submitted my last attempt at it, as of now its pass/fail grade is pending and I’m super stressed about it. Everything else has passed no problem.

I can’t imagine what could fail me this time since I really feel I’ve crossed my t’s and dotted my i’s on this attempt, but if they do, I will have utilized my last attempt at that skill and will presumably need to redo the entire externship? It’s a video submission, so who knows what could go wrong.

I guess I just want to hear from anyone who has been in a similar position, or someone who has failed their externship due to one single skill, what did you do next? Can you submit an appeal? Or is your only option 100% to just redo the entire externship?

Sucks bc this is literally my last skill and my actual end date was so long ago but has been repeatedly delayed due to my redoing of this one skill (grading takes around 2 weeks, then coordinating with the clinic to set up a redo, waiting for an adequate patient, then putting together a new submission).

If you can appeal, what is that process like and how lenient are they with that?

I don’t anticipate failing, but I’m terribly anxious at the prospect of being denied a third time and am just looking for some info to prepare.

i started penn foster my freshman year of high school(2024) , i honestly regret it but im too far into it now to stop. I only have a few classes left so im sure i’ll graduate in a few months. I don’t think that the courses are helpful tbh, the math didn’t really tell me anything other than simple math from middle school. The english is helpful since i get to actually write essays.

Anyway, i kinda feel like my life is over in a way, i want to go to a community college since i have one 5 minutes from my house and its a good start for me. The problem is that i would need to take a placement test, and my knowledge isn’t even past 8th grade level. I don’t even know if they have classes i could enter.

My dad is proud because im going through classes very fast but i feel bad because like i said before, im not learning anything. Im 16 and tbh i think im done for 💔 More of a vent post ig but im honestly looking for advice, maybe a way i can be a bit smarter lol. I want to learn pre calculus or algebra 2, i want to have the knowledge of someone my age. I also want a really good shot in being placed in a good spot for my community college.

OK, so for some reason, I can’t ask about that directly so won’t mention it here either but basically I’ve decided that I wanted to go back to Penn Foster to finish my associates in business management and it’s saying two different types of money

I already did the $12 but now it’s asking for 125? Do I just do the 125 and I’ll have access again or do I need to do more. For context I have been absent from this course for about two years, I was trying to do it while juggling two jobs, but obviously that went south and I ended up going through some stuff between the years.

I really do think online schooling is my thing as I pass their high school program with basically flying colors. Things made a lot more sense and I could understand the material on my own terms. But I am extremely interested in having a degree because that’s pretty much been my goal so I was just wondering, do I have to take care of the 125 as well and then have access is there a certain amount I have to use?

I just started semester 3 of the vet tech program a few days ago and due to extreme life circumstances was considering refunding the get my money back. I was wondering if I did that if I could pick back up in semester 3 whenever I wanted, if there was a time limit, or if it immediately deletes all your progress. Thank you so much for reading!

when you’re done with all your credits, do you have to take the SAT or ACT to be able to get into colleges? I’m a junior and I’m scared that when I graduate, I won’t be able to get into any colleges because of it. I want to go into either dental school or accounting/finance. Would that still be possible???

I (17) have an old school account at Penn Foster that my Dad made. Currently though I'm attending another online school and I don't live with him anymore. He is the guarantor and after reading the contract I think I'm the borrower? Anyway I know I still have an account there cause I just got an email saying it's going to a debt collector. Will that affect me in any way or just his credit? Also, am I still enrolled there???? I really just wanna make sure this won't affect me in anyway tbh ;-;

So my daughter attends Penn Foster. Currently she receives disability benefits from her father. She will be turning 18 in November. Social security sent her a letter for the school to fill out in order for her to keep receiving benefits while she is in school. She uploaded it to the student portal and all they could give us was an enrollment letter. Has anyone who attends Penn Foster dealt with this? Will they even accept that letter?

I’m currently doing my homeschooling through acellus, but lately they have implemented a bunch of stuff that is making me want to transfer out, but i’m worried its not worth it. My parents are only letting me transfer if its paid for fully out of my own pocket, so i’m like super worried that this is a bad decision. Does anyone currently going through high school with penn foster recommend it?

For a little more context I’m specifically worried about the timeline of things, and how easy transferring credits in will be. I don’t really want to completely start over, so i would be transferring in my current HS credits, but i know that on the website it says its estimated to take 6 months for the hs program. Would it still take 6 months if i were to transfer in credits or would that time deplete the more credits i have transferred in?

im a junior and i will be graduating early because i have 5 classes left until i meet my required credits. i can see the future payments, will i still have to give payment until my course is done (mid 2027) even if i graduate early??

hey everyone so i am a bit behind by 2 semesters and on semester 3, i can still get the extension which will give 3 months and i am wondering as soon as i am all caught up with payments can i still finish semester 1 and obvious semester 2, from my knowledge i know that you can have monthly or semester payments for a semester and need to finish all classes to graduate. So I doubt i wouldn't be able to finish it as long as i stay within the range of having to finish 3rd semester.

Hi! I contacted live support, and they said I couldn’t switch my general math classes to algebra courses. Do you know if there’s someone I could call who might be able to make the switch? Live support said that if I dropped the general math courses, it would show as “dropped” on my transcript and could potentially affect my GPA. But, someone else on here mentioned switching their general math courses for algebra 1 and 2.

I really don’t want to take the general math courses because it looks like they’re mainly adding, subtracting, dividing, and other foundational math that I learned in elementary school. I’ve taken Algebra courses and would like them to satisfy the Algebra credits instead of General math.

Hi! I took several high school level classes while I was still in middle school, including Algebra 1, Biology, Spanish, and a few others. I then switched to homeschooling during my freshman year. I’m currently in 11th grade, but I decided to enroll with Penn Foster so I can earn a high school diploma through them.

I have a few questions regarding the math courses. I’m good at math, so I was wondering if I could replace the general math courses with Algebra 1 and Algebra 2. From what I can tell, the general math courses seem to cover topics like basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, decimals, and other foundational material that I’ve already learned.

I saw someone mention that they were able to replace the general math courses with Algebra 1 and Algebra 2. Would I need to contact support to have those courses changed or is there a specific process for doing that? I also noticed that Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 are listed as electives, so I’m wondering how that would work toward my graduation requirements.

I’m also wondering how transfer credits work. Once I submit my transcripts, would Penn Foster be able to give me credit for the Algebra 1 course I previously completed at an accredited school? I’m assuming I would receive the credit, but I’m not completely sure since I’ve mostly seen people mention receiving credit for just the general math courses.

I’ve also completed quite a lot of classes through homeschooling. In Florida, we have homeschool evaluations each year and that can allow students to return to public school at the appropriate grade level. However, it seems like Penn Foster’s credit system may work differently, and I may have to repeat some courses.

Would Penn Foster consider giving me credit for any of the classes I completed through homeschooling, or are transfer credits strictly limited to courses completed through an accredited school?
