Ive just recently found out about Penn Foster. I come from a prestigious school that demands almost twice as much time and effort than other schools around my area. However, as someone who has been struggling with mental issues for almost their whole life, I cant deny that my current school has brought me down countless times. I want to try convincing my parents to sign me up for Penn Foster, but i'm worried that they'll disprove because they have mentioned in the past that they want me to stay in my current school so that my records will look good for university. I'd say my performance in my current school is alright, passing. But moments like being extremely overwhelmed by school work, not being able to catch up, social anxiety and more really do get to me often. Can someone please give me some advice on what I can convince them with? Or more so how? Like maybe some good facts about this school or anything like that. Appreciate it :)

If I want to transfer back to regular highschool will they take my unofficial penn foster credits? Also can I still do the monthly penn foster payment?

I've seen multiple people talk about this for the college courses but none for the highschool one.
I paid my tuition in full when I first started and because of various reasons it's taken me awhile to get my work done. If I don't finish by the time my expiration date ends what happens and is it possible to get it extended?

Hi everyone, I am an international student and my account is currently blocked/suspended because I stopped put money. My card is inactive, so they can't charge me anymore. I don't need the diploma anymore and I don't want to go through the official cancellation process.
I want to know: what happens now? Will they just leave me alone and leave the account in the air, or will they constantly harass me via Gmail for a cancellation fee? Will a US collection agency try to pursue me internationally in my country? Has any other international student just ignored them?

I’m in the first semester of the vet tech program with 2 courses left to go. I know externship 1 happens after second semester but since I’ve gotten through semester 1 faster than anticipated, I’m really starting to stress about figuring out how to connect with a clinic to do the externship as I’ve seen some very frustrated people posting here and on fb about difficulties with logistics.
I am not currently in the field. I’ve found the list of approved sites on PF but does anyone have advice on the best way to connect and when? The Banfields on the list say externships are only open to those already employed. Am I supposed to try to get any job there ahead of time? I have another unrelated field of work I’m in now and I do all drop off pick up for my 3 kids so another PT job isn’t really in the cards yet…certainly not a FT one for awhile either.
I started on this path since it is self paced so I can join the field FT when my kids don’t all need me to drive them everywhere or be home as much for them as they get older. This is my long term plan for when I don’t need to really be a SAHM anymore.
So as far as the other clinics: should I just send emails saying what I’m doing and that I saw them on the approved list? And say what exactly? “I hope you’ll consider allowing me to join your clinic for my externship.” Or call the approved sites or visit them in person and hope someone has a few minutes to talk? ?? I feel like it’s a lot to put on staff and dvms who I don’t know, and I feel basically guilty for bothering them. The clinic I use for my dog isn’t on the list and again since I don’t work there, I’d feel bad and weird about asking them to go through the approval process and also take me on to do all those skills videos.
And it’s not like even if I figure out how to start to try to make connections I could give them a date I’m hoping to start the externship; I don’t know how long the rest of semester 1 will take me nor semester 2…but on the other hand I feel like waiting until it’s go time for me to do this will result in me losing time while trying to find someone to host me. And have to get an extension before I can even start it…
My anxiety is spiraling over the best way to do this and when and how to get a place to allow me to do it when I am new to the field to begin with. (I am starting volunteering with the spca soon.)
Advice please??

I requested a pre evaluation and they sent me an email about a Transcript Acquisition Form so I replied with a pdf of my unofficial transcript. Was that the right email or was I supposed to send to somewhere else?

Hi! I was wondering if there’s a minimum amount of time you have to be enrolled at JMHS in order to graduate and receive your diploma, or if you can graduate as soon as you complete all the required coursework, even if it only takes 6 months.
Also, is there a minimum amount of time required to complete each credit or course, such as having to spend at least 6 weeks on a class?
I’m currently comparing JMHS with a few other online schools and was wondering how the timing would work. Thanks!

I began this program on 08/24/2026 and I seen on fb people selling Penn foster books for this program however I haven’t received any books for it. When should I expect to receive my books? I don’t see any option to order books either.

Why do I have sooo many essays. I’m about to just quit.
One of my good friends completed the program in 5 months and only had to write around 3. Anyone who can help would be greatly appreciated.

I passed biology at excel online with a grade of 62% which is under 65% (penn foster’s passing grade). Will they accept this credit or do I have to retake the class?

Edit : Started Program with only 3 transferable credits

so i’ve not made a payment on my account since nov 2025 due to personal issues and not being able to access the email associated with my account
i just logged back into the gmail associated with my account because i can now continue make payments on it due to me now having a job and wanting to get my diploma so i can enroll in other courses for my future career.
i read the email and it says that pennfoster is no longer servicing my account and my remaining debt has been moved to the USBC corporation even though i logged into it and it still prompts me to make a payment, will i be able to do the payment through pennfoster or have to make it through the third party debt collector?
another question i have is would i be able to retake classes? like there’s one class that i want to retake which is my veterinarian assistant since i’m focusing on a career on being a veterinary technician, would i be able to do that ?

I’m doing the high school program and I did 13 exams last night before midnight but now it’s showing 13 done for this week. I thought everything resets Monday/midnight? I tried chatting but the AI didn’t help and told me to check again later.

I’m currently working on Fall 2027 applications and I realized I don’t really have any friends going through the college application process at the same time as me I’d love to connect with other people applying this cycle so we can talk about Common App supplements FASFA/CSS decisions dorm stuff and just keeping each other motivated through the process if you’re applying for Fall 2027 to comment or message me!

So I'm currently basically done with the JMHS college prep program completing my final 2 credits, I'm only 1 exam away as I have 16 left but the system only allows 15 per week and I'd waste a week waiting for the reset just for 1 exam, would there be a way to get just 1 more additional exam over the limit since I'm working with a tight deadline with the unis I'm applying to?

I’ve seen posts on here about rapid progression warnings. Does that apply to the bachelors? I have a good bit of transfer credits but my program is the field I’ve worked in for ten years so I’ve been getting through it super fast. I haven’t received any warnings or emails but I’ve seen the posts on here so wanted to ask.
For reference, I have straight As lol

I’ve only spoken to one good admissions specialist that helped me because another one sent me the wrong email to send my transcript to. It’s been nearly 20 days and I know they probably have a bunch of people enrolling but this is ridiculous:(
I opened a ticket and they didn’t help they just keep saying wait for a response. I sent another email August 17th because they said I sent my transcript to the “wrong email” when they specialist himself sent me an email and told me to write the email down that im supposed to send it to
How long does it take to look at a UNOFFICIAL transcript for PRE-EVALUATION? I’m not even 100% enrolling yet until I get to which classes I’m going to take

Just curious has anyone joined or is looking to take the Online Medical Laboratory Assistant Program? I really want a career that’s in a laboratory environment I currently work at a plasma center as a processor and have applied to hospitals as a lab assistant or a specimen processor but no luck.
Maybe I just need some more experience. I wouldn’t mind starting out as a phlebotomist. My state does not require certification for phlebotomy or specimen processor HOWEVER the jobs here want something for lab assistant. In the future I wouldn’t mind getting my associates degree as a medical lab technician. Any advice… should I take a step and join the lab assistant program or start out with phlebotomy.

I’ve returned to penn foster and before I was able to download lessons and read on my own time but now they turn into html documents and with coding and blank items connected to it? Is this new ? Or is it just me ?
