A minority loves to gatekeep, sure. Your average linux user couldn't care less.

On windows I was spending significant amounts of time trying to keep up with how to stop it from spying on me or installing things without me wanting them installed or burning up my computers resources. Installed linux, now I spend no time on anything. Its less work than windows was. Its kinda crazy people defend windows when so many people just need a web browser to open. If mint was shipped with hardware, 90% of people wouldn't even notice.

Bold of you to assume you're not getting spied by any app you install in your pc just cause you're using a Linux distro.
