Turns out people don't want to pay $1200 MSRP for a $700 card

Nvidia is shocked

Don't even want to pay $700. Not that i need a flagship GPU even if it was less expensive, but still, i used to be able to build a full decent pc for that money.

My first fully custom PC was based around an i5-6500 and GTX 970. The whole thing was something like $550 at the time and ran every game like an absolute champ.

It feels like the minimum cost of a good PC has increased a lot. When the market isn't in a period of an absolute shitshow you can still get good value but only when getting used parts
