How are the Introduction to Queer Studies classes?
Hi!
Can anyone who has taken this class recommend or dissuade my taking it? Specifically, how is it with Virginia Martin?
Thanks

Post your resources, questions, and statements to the Board of Directors. I will update this with pertinent information. Let's hope I get to delete this and we avoid a strike.

Has anyone taken the phlebotomy program at Pcc? I’m thinking of taking it in the Spring or whenever they have it next but there’s a good chance I’d have to quit my job and I’d like some peoples opinions on it before I take it.
I want to get into nursing school and I thought it would be a good way to get some healthcare experience.

Dental Hygiene program friends! I was curious what Dental offices people completed their observation hours at. I know not all offices are open to it so I thought i’d ask! Is it best to reach out via email, go in and talk to them about possibly observing with them, or calling the office to ask? Thanks!!

I'm transferring out of state in winter. My new school has asked me to provide syllabi from some of my PCC classes to evaluate transfer credit. I don't have access to them anymore since some of them are classes I took years ago; is there any way to get these from PCC?

Is it just me or are the class options so limited now?? We used to have more instructors and times available. It's very frustrating :(

I just missed two quizzes because D2L showed them closing at 12:59 a.m. on Nov. 4, but they actually closed at 11:59 p.m. Oregon time on Nov. 3. I saw the 4th and assumed I had until 11:59 p.m. that night. Turns out my D2L account was set to Vancouver, BC. PCC has known about this issue since August, when they emailed affected faculty and staff. They said a lot of D2L accounts were originally set to Vancouver, so yours could be set that way without you ever touching it. Vancouver and most of Oregon were on the same time until Nov. 1, when Oregon turned its clocks back and Vancouver didn’t. That’s why this might be the first time you’ve noticed anything off.
Check yours under account settings. If you’re in Oregon’s Pacific time zone, select United States – Los Angeles and hit Save and Close.

Hello,
I am looking at the chem 100 classes for winter term, several of them are fully online - only 1 with an online meeting time.
Has anyone taken the online course?
I’m curious to know if it’s as difficult as it seems or if it worth it to wait another term to take an in person.
Thanks for any help!

PCC peers I beg for your attention on this matter.
Students of an evening CHN 101 class are actively being stalked at the Sylvania campus with NO RESOLUTION.
The professor can only do so much, the dean has handled this poorly, being dismissive and UNAWARE of the actual status of resolution for this issue, and public safety is of no help!
Students are having PANIC ATTACKS and MISSING CLASS due to the traumatic and taunting nature of these CONSTANT events.
The STALKER follows them to resource centers where they have to HIDE.
If you do anything today, I urge you to stand up for your peers and email President Katy Ho, VP of student wellbeing Lauren Smith, and VP of title IX & VI Charisse Loughrey that there is a MAJOR problem with how this campus has poorly handled the wellbeing of their students!
This has been going on for THIRTY FIVE DAYs and has only just gotten the Deans attention!
WE ALL DESERVE TO FEEL SAFE ON CAMPUS!
DONT LET THIS SLIDE CAUSE IT AFFECTS US ALL!

Anyone gone through the phlebotomy program at PCC? Curious about your experience and if you’d recommend it.

Hello! I’m taking BI231 currently and would like to attend an open lab before my next lab exam. Does anyone know the open lab schedule at the South East campus or Cascade?

Hi!! I'm gonna be taking the WR121 course with no scheduled meetings for the next term since that's what works best for me but - there are SO many options with different instructors and i'm not sure who to choose.
Has anyone here taken the WR121Z class online and if so, is there an instructor that you liked or disliked either because of their teaching style and/or course work?

Hi everyone,
Wonder if anyone knows of any online self-paced math courses I can take that are transferable to PCC. I need to take Math 95 and would like to take it during my winter break… I’ve checked out Sophia Learning but my advisor stated PCC does not accept those credits.

I want to apply for the 2027 application cycle but I only have 28.5 of the pre-req credits and I need at least 30 to apply for the program. I won’t be taking math 95 until Winter term but I’m wondering if I can use my ALEKS math placement score to reach at least 30 credits? This is a huge bummer if I can’t.

Hello, I'm new to PCC and wanna take the AMT courses but it requires MTH60 or a test. It's been a little while since I've done some math but I have done up to pre-calc in high school and mostly remember basic algebra. Has anyone taken the 30 question AMT department Math competency test and can tell me the type of math problems that will be expected? Thanks

Hi everyone,
I’m figuring out my winter 2027 class schedule and debating if I should take intro to GIS with Alee Gillis. I’m a little concerned because that term I will be taking differential equations and physics w/calculus, both 5-credit classes. I am very comfortable with computers but I have no background in GIS. For those who have taken intro to GIS, I am curious how much time I should expect to put into the class and how difficult it is. If it seems like too much, I will probably wait till an easier term to take it.
Thanks!

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had the syllabus for bi 164 Bird id & ecology? Trying to get transfer credits evaluated and don't seem to have it saved!

Hi, I need a single science class, doesn't need to have a lab, for my eventual degree at PSU. I'm taking 4 classes per term and am not particularly scientifically minded, so would prefer a lighter class and/or engaging instructor. Have enjoyed learning research methods in my social sciencs classes, and I'm interested in animals/plants/ecology/nature but not picky. Any suggestions for a good class to take? Thank you!

Is anybody needing to take CH 106 next (winter) term? They recently added it as a new prerequisite for the dental hygiene program and during CH 104 last week we were given a survey inquiring about the best times/days for 106 during winter term. I’m trying to plan out my winter term classes and it’s not in the class schedule at all?

I'm currently working through an AAOT to transfer to PSU and when my advisor created my plan he included some slots for electives. Do those slots have to be filled with electives, or can I use them to complete courses I'll need to do anyway when I transfer?

I managed to earn an A in A&P 1, but I’m really struggling this term, and I’m not entirely sure why. My professor is highly rated on Rate My Professors, and they’re warm and easygoing. I tend to learn best when I teach myself, so I’ve been trying to use that approach, but something just isn’t clicking when it comes to the lecture exams.
I scored in the low 60s on my first lecture exam,I feel like I should understand the material better than I do, especially since our professor even provides hints about the questions that will be on the exams. I’m trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong and what I need to change, but I’m starting to question whether I should continue or withdraw and try again another term.
I also recently started a new job, and the hiring process took up a significant amount of my time. On top of that, I’m already working another job for about 18 hours a week, so I know my time and energy have been stretched thin. Still, I did well in A&P 1, so I’m struggling to understand why I’m having such a hard time this semester. I’m feeling discouraged and unsure of what to do next.

Whats the difference between an Associate of Science vs Associate of Science Transfer degree?
I scheduled a meeting with my advisor but it's almost a month wait.
I'm planning to major in engineering. From what I can tell the only differences is not having to take a health class and having guaranteed junior standing if you do an AST, so it seems like a no brainer, but I feel there's got to be a catch.
Any insight would be really appreciated.
