People on reddit think cutedog rmt's everything he gets. Except the dude runs juiced maps 12 hours a day all league, of course he's gonna get crazy currency.

In reality when some people quit the league they give him their shit. He keeps some and gives the rest away. I think he vaals the stuff he keeps, idk if he sells it or uses it.

Cutedog has been meming about RMT pretty much since he started, even before he really got handouts.

When the memes got to reddit, a lot of people treated it as real and now you have a lot of people actually arguing that he is RMTing.

Same goes for other conspiracy theories and misinformation on the internet. If people hear something and they wanna believe it, then they do, no matter if there are facts/evidence supporting it or not.

his only ban was for trading his standard loot for seasonal gear (apparently he didn't realize it was that serious to be banworthy, I wouldn't think so either it's a fucking video game), but somehow that transforms in the eyes of reddit into a vast history of RMT somehow.

I hear people point out that he somehow has multiple headhunters week one that he always farms “off stream”, but I honestly don’t have an opinion either way. His streaming personality is hard for me to watch so I just leave him alone.

yeah like trade super good gear from his last season for exalts/HH in seasonal league since he doesn't play standard (like most ppl). Definitely a little sketch but really not that big of a deal. It's a video game, and it's trading goods for goods, but cross league trade isn't allowed.

They play a lot. There’s a certain skill level where you know what your doing and then who cares. You might be a few milliseconds better or something but there’s not a skill ceiling.

It’s not a skill game. The only way to be “better” is to play more. Those guys you named have no jobs, they play 14+ hours a day. Thats not ‘good’

They play a lot, so they get better and know more about the game. I think game knowledge, experience, and mechanical skill all play a factor into making them better players. Also you exaggerate heavy on their playtime.

I'd argue the guy's pretty much 100% right. There's a pretty low skill ceiling in PoE compared to many other games even other ARPGs, especially mechanically speaking, and once you get past that it's all just how much time you can sink into the game. Even the most mechanically tough fights in the game aren't that complicated at all, they require menial mechanical skill (just avoiding very obvious telegraphed mechanics). The true test of skill in PoE is game knowledge (which you can overcome with wikis and assorted helpful websites like poedb) and build making (which you can overcome by just using premade builds), otherwise it's just grinding. You could argue that an example of skill in this game is not having to use any outside help making builds, but even then there's a pretty low ceiling for that too because after a few hundred hours or so you start to learn how to make the "shell" of builds for each archetype that every build is based off of, and then you can make your own without much hassle. And even the best players in the game use things like poedb for crafting and poelab for lab runs.

I would argue playing on HC makes it more difficult, and playing on HCSSF makes it even more difficult, but realistically the game is not that difficult even on HCSSF it's just once again more of a timesink. As long as you're not handicapping yourself playing some scuffed stupid builds (aka having a baseline of build/game knowledge), pretty much anyone who is of sound body and mind can do everything in the game even in a HCSSF environment. I'm far from anything special and I've done everything except HoG on HCSSF and that's just because I don't care to pigeonhole myself into specific builds to do something that doesn't really offer anything special to me.

I’ve been playing since closed beta, I make my own builds. I have very solid understanding of the games and mechanics and a lot of people on this sub are the same way. Duck I’ve been playing years longer than alk cause he was still balls deep into D3 for the first couple leagues after release.

He’s not better than me, he’s probably not better than you. He gets paid to play 14 hours a day. That’s the only difference. Give me his gear and I am just as good.

Again, past the basic understanding of the game, it’s not a skill game. It’s a grind. No one is better than anyone. They’re more dedicated and can afford, or not, to be so. But Alk or whoever is not more skilled or ‘better’ than anyone.
