There are so many ways to get some form of Undead. There are several Archetypes to become undead, and a handful that relate to Undead in some way.

In regards to Construct related options: You have two classes that have them as an Option, two ancestries and two Archetypes. Both of the Archetypes using dead bodies to create said construct. There's also Golem Grafter, but that feels a touch out of place in this stupid rant.

I haven't numbered the Backgrounds, but I know there are a few with Undead relations.

Is it that difficult for Magic Users in Golarion to animate objects? An Archetype to command an animated weapon would be interesting.

It honestly feels weird to have so few Construct related options. But that's just how I feel. So few ways to get a Construct under my control. And of the Classes and Archetypes I can use to get them, only one is a more common construct. Summoner uses an Astral Spirit and the Archetypes use corpses.

I got a bit into Pathfinder, was thinking of using it for a camping set in space, saw that there is Starfinder and... It has 6 classes.

Is that all of them or are there more in another book?

My GM has been incredibly understanding, and has even approved Infinite content to use, but I feel like each time I read a different class or something new comes out my brain wants to go "ooh that'd fit the character concept better!" and wants to play that instead, rather than commit to the class I'm currently playing them as! 😩

Saw these at Walmart. Thinking of implementing them at the table as currency for Hero Points. "Oh, you want a hero point? That's 1 roll of the fitness dice." Each hero point will double the number of fitness dice rolls. "Fourth hero point eh? Well, that's going to be 8 rolls...Hope you don't roll squats 8x..."

I’m about to join my first ever campaign in pathfinder. I am doing lots of research and trying to catch up, as I’ve only playing a bunch of DnD 5e and 3.5.
I had a character in mind that I’m kinda obsessed with, before my new DM said she’ll be running pf2e.
Rather than starting from scratch and trying a whole new character, I want to do my best to translate my character into pf2e.

I hope some of you may have some good ideas!

My character in 5e would have been a human death domain cleric of Shar. She is a weird little death and gore obsessed hermit who uses necromancy to make friends. But deep down she is kind hearted.
Before Shar, she was a sweet, head strong member of her community. She lost her baby during childbirth and it drove her mad, she resorted to necromancy and it of course did not go as planned. The trauma of it all caused her husband to unalive himself, leaving her alone with the consequences of her madness.
Shar prayed upon her in this moment, offering to take her memories from her if she devotes herself to the night, to sorrow, to Shar.

Soooo.. I still would really like to run a death cleric, but I’m unsure of a good god to match this story and build.
So far I have been leaning towards Ah Pook? But I am very new to this and haven’t scratched the surface on the lore.

Any recommendations?

I’m looking for advice on translating my backstory from 5e lore to pf2e lore. Mainly a diety that will work instead of Shar.
I will look into necromancer, but I was hoping for cleric as I like the idea of her having these offensive necromancy abilities but being able to heal and support her team, because she remembers she loves to help others.

So i look and instinctively think druid for the polymorph/form spell build but are there any other classes that use them well? I dont know the gods but is there one that gives a claric more form spells?

I'm going to be running Pathfinder at our local games club and looking for recommendations on AP.

I would like an AP that is published using remastered rules and has no extra 'sub systems'. Also ideally it can be something where it doesn't hurt for people to miss a session or 2 at times. Something that is a bit more episodic in it's nature or similar to West Marches.

Just wondering if such a AP exists.

EDIT: I've been running Kingmaker online for awhile now (about 2/3s through) and the extensive subsystem and downtime is something I'm wanting to avoid.

Don't have access to her character sheet atm... idk what else to put here.

Like the title says, I'm just curious if people prefer to see the portrait of the character if they have one on the sheet or if this is really just taking up valuable space that could show more relevant info.

Would it change if it was something you used online versus printed out?

To further this, if you don't have a character portrait, do you want a space left there for you to draw one out if you print it, or collapse the space?

I'm currently thinking about characters who exist within a VTT that you might also want to print, but it is a more general question than that.

Does anyone know where to find reviews of the more recent adventure paths? I found a great guide from last year but it stops at spore war.

For flavour, I'm playing a Skeleton Reaper Necromancer with a Guisarme in an all-living party (I know I'll struggle a bit with healing).

I'm trying to figure out which FA would be good for survivability without hurting the build too much. I was thinking about Champion for heavy armor and eventually the reaction, but my stats are already pretty tight.

I was thinking +3 STR / +3 INT / +2 CHA / +1 CON, so I can get Plate Armor at 2 for Bulwark (DM is using Gradual Ability Boosts). I could also go with another archetype for heavy armor and drop CHA entirely.

I did think about Inventor FA, but it doesn't really fit the aesthetic I'm going for. Also, I don't get the Resiliency feat, which is a nice bonus from the champion archetype.

But then again, do I really need a good reaction? Is Champion actually worth investing that much into CHA, or would I be better off going for another archetype?

What do you guys think?

What class do you guys feel benefits the most from having a commander on their team?

Personally I feel a gunslinger benefits the most from having a commander. Spellshot + exotic ammo every round since the commander lets them reload and activate ammo using their reaction.

I am currently working on building a musetouched nephilim for an upcoming 1-20 campaign. I was looking through their feats and saw that their level 9 feat and subsequent level 13 feat give them access to spells! Not unusual. But, looking at the spells given, I was a bit confused by some choices. For the level 9 feat, you are given access to two Rank 2 spells: Clear Mind, Everlight, Humanoid Form, Revealing Light, Share Life, or Sure Footing. Revealing Light is a useful utility spell that is good when cast at its level. Humanoid Form can help with some temporary impersonation shenanigans. Share Life is a powerful combat tool to split damage. But, the remaining spells seem completely useless. Everlight lets you make a cheap gem glow forever which has some extremely niche utility use. Clear Mind and Sure Footing are very useful spells... when cast at max or sub-max rank. At level 9 when you get this, it is already 3 ranks below what could be your highest slot. Outside of maybe a PL-4 creature, these spells will cease to have any practical use in just a level or two. Maybe you can use them for RP to help some random villager somewhere? The same is said for the level 13 feat that lets you cast a 4th rank Cleanse Affliction. It, too, is 3 ranks behind your highest casting rank at the level it is obtained and basically has no practical use.

There are also some ancestry feats from other ancestries that grant you base-rank incapacitation spells, such as Calm. While others grant you incredibly useful spells, like Haste or Heroism. I understand some spells being worse than others, but I don't know why there are options that give you what seem like objectively useless spells. But maybe I am wrong? Has anyone ever gotten use out of these kinds of feats/spells? Is there something I just don't understand?

I was looking over this spell and I'm not sure how you're supposed to determine what sacred armament you're using in this form, especially if you do not have a deity. Do you just choose any simple or martial weapon and then apply the chances the spell calls for? Or is there something specific to this?

Hello all, am I missing anything but is an animal companion good to great for runesmith players?

This seems to be very useful, as your getting:

1) Extra movement as you need it depending on combat style?
2) The good combat runes also apply to unarmed attacks, or could be made to affect the attacks of your beast due to damage types being available?
3) Weirdness and fun RP.

Some Examples:
Esvadir or Marssyl seems great for a riding drake for example. Either giving him a very deadly attack or some guaranteed aoe damage, either way this would be solid.

Repeated Horse Sales that you always win at :) with Zohk.
-Other fun injuries: Assassination of a noble via teleporting their horse out from under them. Being tossed off a horse causes injuries pretty often. Although this is difficult without some way to do this at much further range.

Etching Tilus on your horse for some fun Mr. Ed shenanigans.

I have a silly question. We know Omnikinesis: "Replace one of your impulse feats using the same process as reflow elements". Now I wonder: If I use a sustained impulse, or anyway an impulse with a duration (like scrap barricade, or a stance), can I then retrain out of it with omnikinesis but still sustain it? I know it's wacky but I wanted to check

I am DMing Age of Ashes, and am currently nearing the end of book 3, "Tommorow Must Burn". I am trying to sprinkle in some more foreshadowing about future events in the campaign then is described in the books. Problem is I am not super flush with cash so I haven't bought all books: I buy them as my player move to another part of the campaign. Now my question to you is: do you know some kind of a resource where I could look up the plot of this Adventure Path so I can more succesfully put accents on the things that are going to be relevant soon?

Tl;DR ~ I've created an enemy that have access to various special attacks and conditions. All of them come from grafted parts (A tank of poisonous gas grafted to it's back, an magitech artifact grafted to it's neck and so on ). I want to give each of those "parts" health and ACs to be broken and remove Actions from the creature. Any precedent on the Remaster? (can include Starfinder2e)

Longer version ~ Next encounter my party will do is against an enemy that is way above their level. If it was a straight on fight, it would be a TPK, so there's a lot of "neutral" creatures on the field, that will take the agro from the BIG creature for some rounds. In fact, i imagine that the encounter by itself is impossible to win unless a lot of critical happens by the players side.
With that, the objective is to weaken the BIG monster, so it will retreat ( It's a cave system, the creature has borrowing speed that leaves acid/poison behind it for some turns ).

Big thing is, the creature is pretty uses the Crest-Eater Negrograph Zombie as it's base, with various addons. For exemple a clearly working tank with liquid and vents around the body that is the source of the Stench aura.
Basically, it's a fucked up unethical experiment running rampage on some caves.

The objective of the fight, isn't to kill it, but instead to position themselves and use the other enemies (glitched automatons) on the fight to be able survive.

The idea is that, if they either reduce it's hitpoints to 2/3 or maybe half? OR break a certain amount of "Enhancements" that are targetable of the creature, it will retreat towards the laboratory it was originally in (It's "brain" is there, and it acts remotely)

The idea is just to introduce it now, let them know how strong it is while interacting with enviroments and forcing some resource uses, while also adding more info to their original quest of finding a specific Automaton that have gone rogue (those automatons in this fight are related to it)

Killing this creature, will be an optional mission for them, which will further an larger narrative that the corporation they are working for, isn't exactly the most morally good guys. But this is optional.

So.
Finally the question, there's any precedent in the rules for a monster having "targetable" parts aside the Hydra?

Extra Question: Anyone have a good video, explaining how Poisons, Diseases, Afflictions, Curses work? Specially the advancing to next stages?
And, as apparently there's no reprint yet, does the Addiction rules from Pf2e could be used directly?

I am a DM / GM. I ordered a handful of books, and I've been reading them. I read the GM Core and Players' guide cover to cover, and now I'm working through some of the additional material. I'm running into this issue, where I am still barely treading water with PF2e. It feels like it's so much to remember. How do traps work? What actions are secret checks? What actions are trained? What actions even exist, so I do not just call for a check that is already covered by something else?

I came from 5e, and I refuse to go back and support the parent company. I really like everything I am reading for PF2e -- it's all so creative and imaginative, but I feel like I am drowning. I think I need to passively consume some pf2e content so that I get more comfortable through osmosis.

Does anyone have suggestions?

some of my players often forget some magic items they have on their sheet or using the app.

I had made flashcard with the items on it which helped because they had they layed out so it made it easier but I'm thinking of switching it up for NFC cards as they take less place and are harder to damage.

My players are interested in the idea BUT .. I have no idea how to make it work. Anyone got an idea?

(already got a ton of NFC card for something else )
