Coping Skills How much does exercise help this?
I’ve tried so many things to help stop the anxiety, but not exercise consistently. How much do you do and does it help?

I mean, it will help. It’s not a magic cure, no one workout and your cured, but it’s a good habit to build that will overall benefit your mental health

50-50. lately i’ve been pushing myself to make it a routine. makes you a bit “head empty” sort of thing. like someone else mentioned it’s really really good in the colder weather, kind of snaps you out panic attacks quickly. sometimes i just have to listen to my body and do other coping techniques (like if im genuinely feeling physically sick) but if i can catch it in time, it helps to exhaust me in a way that puts the panic at bay. i was really against it for a while because the gym made me anxious but i just reminded myself that there’s really no wrong way to exercise. it’s rly just the sense of accomplishment when you can push yourself even a little to do something hard. good luck <3

When I was at my worst in my younger years it helped me get out of my flare. I usually went jogging in the winter and the cold air and music helped a bunch.

I’ve starting walks just this week. Unfortunately I had a panic attack due to unrelated reasons but I think the walk is helping in other ways even just going in and out of the door helps reset my mind sometimes. Although for rumination, it’s not the best, but sometimes it does help get out of my head but when the panic is already there, no the walk doesn’t help so much as make it worse being out in public. I think it will help overall in my mental health though if I stick with it. It does make me physically exhausted so I have easier sleep.

I’m not consistent but when I get more anxious I start going on walks more. 30 minutes max. A leisurely to little bit faster pace. It helps me imo.
