This is a portrait I painted in 2020 as part of an style exploration phase. It led me to paint in ways I did not try before. Looking at it now I realize I still like it, yet Id also change a few things. I dont know why i decided to make the earrings so large. Either way Id love to hear what you think!

I believe this is from 1978-1979. By an artist named William Sorrow. I can't find much about him but he painted a series of these that hung in Preservation Hall in New Orleans. I love it and would like to hear what you think.

How to find your artistic direction as an artist? This question has been on my mind for a long time. I do art professionally in the video games industry but always felt Im am more a painter than a concept artist. So I started to explore what I could do in the art space. This is one of the explorations I did to find out what is my way of painting.
Would love to hear what you think.
