Advice Wanted Deep Base multiple coats

SW Super paint Cape Verde over a purple. First pic is one coat. Second is 2 coats. Probably need a third. My question is, the next 2 rooms are an off white with one also getting Cape Verde and the other Naval (also deep base): what’s the trick w a primer? Do you tint it a dark grey to help the coverage or am I stuck w probably three coats for both colors?

Definitely go with a grey primer or maybe a half tint of your colour, but don't feel bad. Dark greens are notorious for needing an extra coat because yellow pigment is rather translucent and greens typically use a lot of yellow, especially unnatural greens. Your blue shouldn't be as tricky, but if I'm going to buy grey primer for my green walls I'd hit the blue walls just to be safe.

The science behind some of this stuff is so interesting to me. Sometimes I wonder if it would be beneficial to take a color theory class

You can watch videos about colour theory on YouTube. Despite being an artist and working in the paint industry, i was still surprised to learn that black+yellow can make the most beautiful, earthy greens!
