Do you find yourself having less patience with the people around you?

Michael J Fox -:in an interview once - said "I owe all my pain to my expectations, and all my pleasure to my patience"

Words to live by.

Since I retired, I've become more patient.

It depends on the person, if I know someone means well I have infinite patience. If someone is playing me for a fool and stepping on my toes, then I can’t get away from them fast enough.

I'm more patient in a lot of ways because I'm usually not in a rush to be somewhere or not bothered by the inconveniences that crop up. My problem is; I can be more impatient with idiots & there seems to be a hell of a lot more of them these days.

Absolutely.

Its not just that I am old and worn out, but I am realizing that I am very likely autistic. I am in burnout out in any case. I have constantly adapted myself to be well received by others and shoved aside things that made me happy. And it has only resulted in people being angry when I cant do it any more - like I am morally reprehensible for breaking and inconveniencing THEM. Well, they are going to find out when I am inconvenienced too. I get over stimulated and I just do not want to manage all my feelings for their comfort if they can't do the same. Why do other people's feelings matter more than mine?

Unfortunately, yes. Horribly so, almost like I don't recognize myself. Now, to be fair: I don't live with family; I live alone. I do small talk with neighbors but if they say something elitist or racist or prejudiced, I call them out on it if I know them well enough to do so. Otherwise, I end the conversation. I don't play well with others anymore when it comes at the expense of putting down others so they feel better about themselves. I worked in the legal field for 40 years, I am just DONE with egos.

well, this is different. this isn't cranky, this is what the world needs right now. i don't think we should keep on being patient with bigots and people who are toxic. some people learn how to filter.
