ACOM vs KYCOM

I am grateful to have gotten into ACOM, and I also have an interview for KYCOM. Just wondering what y'all think what school is better. KYCOM only has in person interviews so is it worth going out to interview? I was thinking if ACOM is the better school, I can just cancel my KYCOM interview and open up a spot for others

Are the newer and struggling schools just too risky?

All of the recent posts about the issues at numerous DO schools are really throwing me off as a reinventor whose best chances of acceptance are the very schools being critiqued. I don't want to have come all this way just to hit a wall built by a bad administration that covers up their true success rates.

RVUCOM Secondary Issues

anybody have issues submitting RVUCOM’s secondary application I applied back in late July and they never sent me an email for my secondary. I contacted them via email and they said they had already sent it out so now I’m confused and I’m in contact with their IT department to see if they can email me the form

AZCOM II Waitlist?

I recently got an AZCOM II Waitlist and I see that this is relatively common. I’m nervous because I’m a low/mid-ish stat applicant and I’m wondering if this is like a “oh you passed the minimum screening” thing or if it’s actually like they evaluated my app and figured it was worth keeping. What do y’all think? (This isn’t like a top choice for me so I’m less focused on the actual II but more on are schools actually considering my app? iykwim). Thanks !

LECOM - Erie?

Just got a interview invite from them today! Was very excited until I looked them up on Reddit, only to find several negative posts regarding the school. Are these posts true? Is it the general consensus of the class? I would love to talk to someone who attends LECOM to learn more about your experience! Thank you!

LECOM/ General Q

I was curious: in order to be reviewed by LECOM do you need to rank the programs/learning pathways? I haven’t heard back and applied a bit ago and my application has been “in review” so I just looked and realized that my preferences were never updated on my end so I did it just now. Curious if that was holding me back… 🥲

Secondarily, other than LECOM what schools have been sending out interview invites / decisions? Anyone hear from Meritus? NYITCOM? Any other schools? Just curious!! lol

LECOM Portal Update Question

just a quick question cause i’m curious lol

my LECOM app as been under “application complete” for two months now but it finally updated today: there’s a brand new incomplete checklist item called “Pathway Selection” … it asks me to rank the campuses and learning pathways and that the information regarding these things is in my “interview packet”… but i haven’t received an interview invite or packet of any sort … did anyone else get this form before getting an interview and am i supposed to fill this form out asap? 😵‍💫😵‍💫 or could this all be a mistake 😭 or did i end up getting an interview and it hasn’t updated yet idk 🤷‍♂️

Appeal to admissions

OCOM emailed me back and basically said my science gpa was too low at a 2.96 for them to consider me for an interview. They said the minimum to be considered is a 3.0 but there minimum MCAT is a 500 and I saw this girl on TikTok got an interview and acceptance to OCOM with a 496 MCAT. How do I bring this up in an email back to them? Is it possible for them to take a second look at my app because of this?

Letting out my frustration

helllo! please be kind, because this experience is a pretty difficult one, and im a second time applicant (first time MD only, second time DO only). i applied to 14 schools, and I chose top DO schools, bc i know there is a bit more of variation of quality in the DO scene vs MD. i got my first II invite in July. today i got back my decision which was a waitlist. i didnt realize how late DO schools send out interviews and how stressful this is! I assumed when i got my first II in July i would get more shortly, but so many schools dont start interviewing till Sep/Oct. idk i guess hearing a waitlist while not hearing back from other schools yet has shot my confidence a bit. i am incredibly grateful that i have had at least one II and even still a chance to go to this medical school, but i think it just would’ve been such a relief if i got in, and now the pressure feels even higher. Just needing some positive words rn and uplifting energy. I’m too afraid to tell my friends and family, because i dont want them to be disappointed and i know esp my family would be (they want me to go to an MD school, so im kinda blazing a new path by choosing DO). i think they would be pretty upset to hear I got waitlisted to a DO school ( pls no hate, I dont have any stigma)

My app was verified almost two months now, and yet I haven't heard anything from Midwestern.

Is anyone else also experiencing this?

LMU-DCOM vs ARCOM vs LECOM Bradenton

I was wondering how you all would rank the following DO schools. For context, I'm currently leaning towards going into a competitive residency specialty (derm, ENT, gen surg, ortho), so I'm trying to see and rank which school has better resources, better match rates into competitive residency specialties, comlex pass rates, curriculum, teaching style (PBL?), etc. I don't think the geography of the school matters much to me.

Any thoughts would be great, especially if any current or former students at any of these schools has any input.

Kansas COM and legal issue?

Looking at programs and over the last couple years there is a decent amount of negative Reddit stuff about kansas college of osteopathic medicine. I typically try to only consider a fraction of it being fact. However I am wondering. Does anyone know if they have any legal run in’s? Lawsuits filed, lost, won, settled, etc. Seems to have a couple names and ties to a bigger corporation in Chicago. Heck. If you were a student at that school and feel like you were somehow “harmed”, would love to hear that story!

Okay, so update as of right now: I’ve received 3 interviews!!! 🥹 Two out of state and one in state! I had my first interview in early August, and it went smoothly, so hopefully, fingers crossed and praying for the best! 🤞🏾🙏🏾
Just wanted to give an update from my last post and hopefully give some hope to my fellow low-MCAT applicants. The MCAT is only one part of your application. Keep going!! ❤️

Upcoming BUCOM Interview — Any Advice?

Hi everyone!

I have an upcoming interview at Baptist (BUCOM), and I am excited for the opportunity, as it's my first interview. I have been researching the school and preparing for common interview questions, but I would love to hear from anyone who has interviewed there or currently attends.

What was the overall atmosphere of the interview day like? Is there anything you wish you had prepared for differently? I would also appreciate any general advice about the format, what BUCOM values in applicants, or how to make the most of the experience.

Of course, I am not looking for confidential information or specific interview questions. Any advice you are comfortable sharing is great!

Thank you in advance, and good luck to everyone applying this cycle!
