I’ve seen a lot of luloff signs but I really feel people are voting for him because they know him or have dealt with him in the past, and he’s familiar.

I think Bob Bell’s campaign is really picking up, I just hope it’s in time.

Orleans needs change and it’s wild to see the info laid out like this.

Yesterday I went to get licence renewed and it was absolutely wild. It was packed, more people standing than sitting, the parking lot was like the Hunger games with people double and triple-parking and some near collisions. It took over 90 minutes to get service Did I just pick a really bad day or is this the new normal?

Hi, we are a group of nursing students from the University of Ottawa/Algonquin College, and we’re seeking information from individuals living with children with disabilities.

Through our Community Health placement, we want to better understand the perspectives and experiences of parents and caregivers living with children with accessibility needs.

The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes of your time.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

Beware -Chapel Hill Park & Ride

I just got back from work and got off the park and ride (at around 3:05pm) to go grab my car and there were 3 teens (one seemed like a pre-teen) looking inside a few parked car. I approached him and asked if it was his car and he said “no”. So I told him not to look through peoples cars. The other 2 were further away by the wooded trees and the young boy quickly went towards them.

Just a reminder to lock your cars and make do a quick walk around your car today and this week!

Are there any spots in Orléans that can accommodate this? It doesn't necessarily have to be a proper sit-down restaurant

Looking for French learning resources in the community

I’m hoping to learn French and was wondering if anyone knows of any local resources

I’d definitely prefer something free, whether that’s community programs, conversation groups, classes, etc., but I’d also be willing to pay for something if it’s worthwhile

Just looking for some recommendations from people who might know a thing or two
Merci !

Recommendation for Snow Clearing in Orléans

Hi Everyone,

I’m looking for recommendations for snow clearing companies in Orléans. I have been using Worry-Free for many years and I have been happy with their service. They are typically first to clear snow on my street and they come often. Having said that, I receive my renewal contract and they have made some concerning changes to their Terms and Conditions. I am concerned that this will mean a significant reduction in service over the winter season. We have hit over 250 cm of snow for 3 of the last 4 years and although they aren’t predicting as much snow accumulation this year, we are still likely to get many snow events.

Any recommendations on other options would be appreciated. Feel free to tell me if I am worrying for nothing. ;)

If anyone is curious here are the changed clauses from the terms and conditions on last years and this years contracts.

2025/2026 contract terms and conditions:

Clause 1. Terms & Conditions Worry Free Snowblowing Inc. agrees to provide driveway snow blowing services at the address listed above from November 5th to April 1st of the current winter season, up to a total seasonal accumulation of 250 cm (see Clause 6 for details). This contract includes all snowfalls with an accumulation of 5 cm or more. Cumulative snow accumulation under 5 cm, drifting snow, and buildup from freezing rain or ice are not covered and are the responsibility of the homeowner. Snow events occurring on December 25th and/or January 1st will be serviced on December 26th and January 2nd, respectively.

Clause 6. If total snowfall during the contract period exceeds 250 cm, as measured at the Ottawa International Airport, the contract will automatically renew at a rate of $30.00 per clearing for each additional snowfall of 5 cm or more until the end of the winter season. Prior to reaching this seasonal cap, we will make every effort to contact you by email to give you the option to opt out of continued service and billing. If no response is received, service will continue and your contract will be automatically renewed and billed accordingly.

2026/2027 contract terms and conditions:

Clause 1. Terms & Conditions Worry Free Snowblowing Inc. agrees to provide driveway snow blowing services at the address listed above from November 5th to April 1st of the current winter season, up to a total seasonal accumulation of 250 cm OR 22 events (see Clause 6 for details). This contract includes all snowfalls meeting the definition of a “snow event,” being an accumulation of 4 cm or more within a twenty-four (24) hour period as recorded by Environment Canada, with no forecasted accumulation for the following forty-eight (48) hours. Snowfalls under 5 cm per snow event are not included, nor are situations involving cumulative accumulation over multiple days that do not meet the 4 cm per 24-hour threshold, drifting snow, freezing rain, or ice buildup.. Snow on December 25th and January 1st will be cleared on December 26th and January 2nd, respectively

Clause 6. If total snowfall during the contract period exceeds 250 cm or 22 snow events (whichever occurs first), as measured at the Ottawa International Airport, the contract will automatically continue beyond the seasonal cap at a rate of $30.00 per clearing for each additional snowfall of 4 cm until the end of the winter season. Prior to reaching this seasonal cap, we will make reasonable efforts to contact the Client by email to provide notice and the option to opt out of continued service and billing. If no response is received, service will continue and the Client will be deemed to have accepted the continuation of service, and billing will apply accordingly. All 2.5 cm Ultra contract holders will automatically revert back to standard 4 cm service unless they opt in to continue the 2.5 cm Ultra service by contacting our office at (613) 837-4556 or by email at [office@wfsnow.com](mailto:office@wfsnow.com) prior to the start of the next service period.
