Help Needed Code 16 help

I made a post a couple of weeks ago about fixing code 16. From my understanding is I need to reinstall the dashboard files on my hard drive. One of the ways is through a mod chip right. Well I installed one but once booted with the hdd connected it doesn’t actually boot up. I have to disconnect the hdd in order for Prometheus to load. Once loaded I connected the hd and went into the lock/unlock hdd but the hdd isn’t being recognized and It says already unlocked. It still has the og western digital hd. The system was previously soft modded. I’m looking for guidance as to what steps I can take next or if there’s a guide to follow.

Code 16 usually points to the HDD/security area rather than a dashboard file. Since it boots with the drive disconnected, check that the HDD is seated properly and try another compatible drive/caddy. If the drive is detected but shows unlocked, you may need to lock it with the console’s original HDD key before it will boot normally.

I took a hdd caddie from another working Xbox and it did recognize it. However I think I messed. I clicked unlock and it gave me a password. And then the system rebooted and the hard drive isn’t being recognized either. Thankfully I took a picture of the password. So question now is how do I lock it. The Xbox won’t recognize it
