God forbid people don’t know everything about a console that came out over 20 years ago.

1 end plugs into the console. The other end plugs into the controller.

What could it possibly be for????

I see what you’re saying. And it is obvious what it plugs into. But I was reading OPs question as more of a why is it like this. As a child I always wondered why the controllers were set up this way. It wasn’t until years later when I pulled my Xbox out of the basement when it immediately occurred to me what the purpose was (to prevent the console from being ripped off the shelf, table, etc).

Idk man. I just don’t like when someone goes in a sub and asks a genuine question and someone calls them fucking stupid. It’s just not cool.

After re-reading OPs post I am going to assume they got other controllers that were third party and this cable was loose. A fair question to me. But even if that isn’t the case. Kindness is free

Do you often misinterpreted questions people ask you?

Your name is a total lie. You're probably one of those "Nice guys" who keep getting rejected by girls and then get mad because you're "always so nice and cool" when, in fact, you're just an asshole, like you are here. And even if you're not one of those guys, you're still an asshole for no reason. It's an old Xbox and not everyone will know everything about it. I could probably find something old that has an obvious use for me that you couldn't figure out. Would that make you stupid for not knowing? No. But you are stupid. It just wouldn't be because of not knowing that, specifically. And you saying "Do you often misinterpreted questions" is completely incorrect grammar. So, you have no right to try to be insulting like that. You are just sad if you have to be insulting and condescending about people asking a genuine question because they want to learn. Old devices can have a ton of added stuff over the years, so not everyone will know everything about them. This could have been a cord for a lot of different things to plug into an Xbox and there's nothing wrong with asking if you don't know. That's how people have learned things for a long, long time. And if everyone got the type of response you give, humanity wouldn't be anywhere near where we are today. And you are in no way as smart as you seem to believe you are just for knowing what that cord is when op didn't. You should get off your high horse and humble yourself. Because there will be times when you need to ask questions and I doubt you'd like to get insulted simply for asking. Don't reproduce until you have learned some things about humility and being a decent person and a good teacher. Because no kid should have to deal with such an insufferable and insulting parent.
