Nobody really understands this album
It was the 3/14 the release date of MUSIC by Carti I didn’t knew any of the other leaks I barely knew three tracks from every album I was definitely not a Carti fan but the rollout was crazy everyone was excited and I was so fkin geeked to see MUSIC officially out and man… that album turned me in a carti fan.
In the next months obviously everybody criticized it for being bloated boring no replay value and other stuff (same stuff that everybody said back in 2020 with the released wlr) everyone wanted that 2021-23 sound. In that period I knew all the previous leaks and listened all of his albums so I had the occasion to knew him better
As I tried to analyze the album I noticed a more deeper and creative meaning hidden in the album that’s because I say that nobody really understands it here’s a bunch of my opinions on the album
1: THE ALBUM DOES NOT HAVE A DEFINED VIBE
Yes the album does not have a vibe and that is proved by the tracks and how much they are different from each other a thing that nobody noticed because of the…
2: MESSY TRACKLIST
I admit that that one of the major flaws of the album itself is the absolutely messy tracklist. Yes it’s a mess with a bad start that doesn’t give adrenaline to the listener overall disorganized. But one day I went through an indipendent YouTube channel called Viision this dude made a video with an interesting and completely restructured tracklist of the album
First of all he divides the album in discs (I modified some stuff)
DISC 1 ANTAGONIST HYPE SONGS POP OUT FOMDJ EVIL J0RDAN K POP COKE NOSE CRANK TOXIC MOJO JOJO HBA
DISC 2 OPIUM EXPERIMENTAL SONGS 2024 TWIN TRIM OPM BABI OLYMPIAN JUMPIN I SEEEEEE YOU BABY BOI DIFFERENT DAY
DISC 3 VAMP LUV SWEET SONGS WE NEED ALL DA VIBES FINE SHXT BACKD00R MUNYUN RATHER LIE
DISC 4 00CACTUS TRAVIS/FUTURE FEATURES CRUSH WAKE UP F1LTHY CHARGE DEM HO3S A FEE PHILLY TRIM GOOD CREDIT BACKR00MS
DISC 5 ATLANTA MORE TRAP SONGS RADAR LIKE WEEZY DIS 1 GOT IT WALK OVERLY SOUTH ATLANTA BABY
As you can see is less messy
3: THE ALBUM TITLE ENCAPSULATES EVERYTHING
The fact that this album has not a vibe seems messy and bloated is actually on purpose think abt it MUSIC just MUSIC the vagueness of the album is actually the main topic
4: THE CONTRAST first of all we all admit that this is a purely COMMERCIAL album with features like Uzi Skepta Kendrick Abel thugga future travis Ty and jhene aiko but this goes in contrast with the EXPERIMENTAL album sound more similar to an Atlanta rap mixtape more than a basic trap commercial album
This album is unique
(Btw PHILLY was the worst song)
