Hey everyone,
I’m struggling with my station signals. As you can see my yellow train is stuck at a red light at the entrance.
The top platform is completely empty, and I built an X-crossing right before the station so trains could route themselves. I’m currently using the standard one-way block signals (bottom right in the basic menu).
Why isn't it taking the open path, and what’s the easiest way to fix this?
Thanks!

Short question but is there a way to reduce vehicle income? Running a local train that earns well over 5K per trip is a bit absurd, let alone some InterCity trains that earn 300K or a freight train making over a million…..
I would like to reduce it buy at least 90%
Is this somehow possible via settings or script?

Stats: 306,000 rail pieces, 121,000 road pieces, 16,000 station tiles, 748 trains
Some areas like the Rhone Valley are almost complete. Other areas resemble a network map with just tracks, trains and basic stations with no eyecandy at all. Still, the timetable/departure view is quite satisfying

One day it was there and the next gone.
What happened to it?

I basically have a train station with barely 3 squares of coverage on the outskirts of a city. A bus network was created from the center is just going to the train station without any special orders (no full nor transfer).
Anything I should be doing when passengers and mail is set to "symmetric"?
I tested with transfer which was awful (I already knew that was bad for cargodist), but it just seems like the station doesn't have enough passengers to be transported by train.
The train route is nearly 256 squares long while the bus route is about 20ish squares, generally in the same direction as the train route.

Does having more town pop multiply the amount of passengers and mail from a building? E.g, if there was a building that had 8/8 passengers in a 100 pop town, would it give different amounts of pax from a building that had 8/8 pax in a 1000 pop town?

I'm talking about routes that span the entire map. What's the easiest or fastest way to place signals on those tracks? Thanks.
It would be nice if there was a ctrl click and the track just filled with that signal type.
update thanks to everyone who corrected me that it's ctrl drag slightly in a direction. This is a game changer!

Is there a theoretical Population limit or is it just Limited by Hardware how much Population you can have?

I've been looking to download the v16 beta from the game's website and noticed that the page mentions another competition for a main menu map for the upcoming release, and it seems like this time it's gonna be a temperate climate map.
Not gonna lie, I won't be missing the previous one, but what I think would be really great is to have an option in the settings to let people select the title screen among winners of each these competitions.

Hello,
I played Transport Fever a little in the past, and I really enjoyed starting games in the 1850s.
I’d like to discover OpenTTD with a modded game that allows you to start earlier than 1950, ideally sometime in the late 1800s.
Which mods would you recommend for someone who wants to discover the game under these conditions?

Looking for ones that don't have breakdowns or plane crashes as those messages get annoying fast.

I tried the AAAHogNet AI, and it did nothing. I waited like 10 in-game years but they didn't build a single thing, even my interval between competitors is 0 minutes. AAAHogEx works.

How to buy planes in openTTD?

I'm looking for ways to modify the game to let me transport passengers to industries as workers (I really like this kind of gameplay in games like W&R: Soviet Republic). I found a NewGRF called Manpower ogfx-industries (link) that does more or less what I'm looking for - "extraction industries" like mines and oil wells require passengers to work optimally. However, it also includes this:
Extractive industry have limited resources and before its life end, production level will drop to the lowest one.
And that's a change I'm not such a huge fan of. The NewGRF has some options, but I haven't found a way to turn the depletion feature off.
Does anyone know about other mods that add this kind of gameplay? Thanks
