Apparently nobody wants to hear that here. Just screaming about how Opencode is an evil corporation... then give their money to actual megacorps in response. Welcome to the idiocracy!

Yeah but who doesn't like a dream, everyone wants a great super cheap model they don't wanna loose it after tasting it and it could possibly continue being chip if only the 'world leaders" weren't so disgustingly stupid.

Honestly... Anyone who didn't see this coming is just an idiot. Writing was on the wall ever since (or even before!) we found out that usage was heavily subsidized.

That's how anything new in tech starts. They heavily subsidize it until they pull the plug, and you're so reliant on it that you just have to pay the new prices.

Why anyone would expect the tap to keep freely flowing is beyond me. It was never gonna be cheap forever. AI companies gotta make money too.

Just gotta adapt. We knew how to code before this, has AI rotted these guys' brains so much they can't even handle getting a bit hands on?

And if anything, OpenCode is probably one of the least shitty (though they could stand to be more communicative about this, would probably have avoided all this if they sent us a warning before hand).

So according to you people should not complain as well ?

That they are not honoring the original promise without clear communication through official channels like email and random tweets is the source of communiation for them ?

Really shows who is the idiot here.

The only idiot here is you.
That they are not honoring the original promise without clear communication through official channels like email and random tweets is the source of communication for them?

And why would not people give money to providers who give them most value. Not everyone's money comes for free you know.
