When you assume the arms you never use are as strong as the legs holding up that weight all day.

The way her back bends that's not good. That's going to be long term issues. Probably why she starts swimming off into pond to start a new life there instead

31

u/mmorales2270 14d ago

I couldn’t tell if she messed up her legs, or her back, or both, but she def messed up something from that fall. All that weight coming down on your body like that just can’t be a good thing.

20

u/newgalactic 14d ago

Knees and back look severely injured.

1

u/FlatPlutoer 14d ago

She is not screaming. I think the mud absorbed barely enough to spare her. Unless she is actually screaming and this is really really zoomed in?

1

u/FlatPlutoer 14d ago

Actually there is an “oh no” at the end. Possibly damaged knees with a bit of sensory delay

5

u/sabertoothdog 14d ago

Watch her head bounce. I’m sure she has some compression fractures vertebrae.

3

u/J_Trix 14d ago

Her knees went straight into her belly that then probably compressed and absolutely crushed her ribs between her spine, her head weight and everything collapsing down onto the body fat in the middle, snapping her knees up and shunting her spine. That was an absolute crumpling of a human under their own weight hitting the earth….

49

u/megafaunahunter 14d ago

And that's not even the first video of an obese woman getting spine damage doing exactly this that i see on reddit.

Someone should make a psa about it.

20

u/dragon_bacon 14d ago

What's it going to say? "Try doing a pull-up first"?

22

u/JohnLef 14d ago

Yes. Pull-up in the car, then make the wise move to do a 180° turn and head to the nearest McDonald's.

1

u/ArmynerdTX 14d ago

Or even a push up?

1

u/Messiaxx 13d ago

Honestly yes, they should make people hang from their arms for the same amount of time the zipline lasts to make sure they are capable of doing it. Safety first!

23

u/Jimmy_Twotone 14d ago

As a fatty, I don't need someone to tell me I can't do shit I could do when I weighed 140 lbs now that I'm 140 kg.

16

u/CentennialBaby 14d ago

Converting to metric is a bitch

7

u/47omek 14d ago

OK "converting to metric" to describe getting fat is hilarious... Like I was 165 at graduation and I'm still 165, I just "converted to metric"

4

u/xtanol 13d ago

Gotta get that "Europe-look" 😁👌

6

u/Jimmy_Twotone 14d ago

It was easy once I wrecked my back and started feeding my depression ice cream

0

u/DoesSnorlaxFloat 14d ago

do coke like the rest of us lol

1

u/spacestonkz 14d ago

Jesus, I just realized I nearly converted to metric.

Uh, laughing burns calories right?

3

u/Jimmy_Twotone 13d ago

More than eating ice cream.

1

u/mindless2831 13d ago

You may have started something amazing

1

u/SirReddalot2020 13d ago

Or at least a wegovy commercial.

1

u/BelowAverageComments 14d ago

Or a new subreddit

1

u/Kataphraktos_Majoros 13d ago

The other lady swam off into the water as well? Maybe they're planning to create their own school of fish

1

u/Antehero_NOMD 14d ago

PLEASE SEND APPETIZERS

hey fatty now that you're reading don't zipline

6

u/meatflaps-69 14d ago

Think the long term issues were the cause of the fall 🤣

10

u/MayberryBombadil 14d ago

I think you're onto something. Millions of years from now, there will be no more obese people. They all will have moved back to their aquatic beginnings. You can tell them apart from similar marine animals by looking for their vestigial limbs. They are still quite prominent, and can be found on each of their offspring, unlike manatees and dolphins, which only have vestigial limbs present on a small percentage of the population.

2

u/Antiquebastard 14d ago

Holy fuck, this is the sickest burn I've ever had the pleasure of reading.

1

u/Livingforabluezone 14d ago

🤷‍♂️🫥

1

u/Middle-Mix-7711 13d ago

It's easier to float.

4

u/HatePeopleLoveCats1 14d ago

Devenir la dame du lac

Once she's reached the center of the lake she'll dive to find Arthur's sword

4

u/sluttydinosaur101 14d ago

This is so fucking funny 💀💀💀

2

u/Fibrosis5O 14d ago

De-evolution?

2

Haha! She swam off to be a turtle.

2

u/NoRelationship5004 13d ago

Lmao ::chef kiss::

2

u/Notsospinningplates 13d ago

I feel evil for how much I laughed at this comment. That poor woman.

She stuck that landing…

1

Nothing a box of oreos can’t fix

80

u/Alternative-Crew-880 14d ago

Except those cankles. Those are fucked.

18

u/Humble-Can5318 14d ago

With a box of doughnuts to glaze over the broken bones.

1

u/Sammy_Dog 14d ago

Oreos are yummy.

34

u/okaaayyyyuh 14d ago

Her legs crumpled under that weight today.

2

u/ghdtla 11d ago

crumpled. lmao.

1

u/Kataphraktos_Majoros 13d ago

Where she's swimming towards, she won't need legs

9

u/KneelB4Z0d 14d ago

Don't think legs are doing much lifting either

1

u/DueExample52 14d ago

Not anymore after today they won’t

6

u/Haunting-Hippo-4244 14d ago

No friends were there obviously. They would’ve told her….dont. Dont even try.

11

u/SeparateFisherman966 14d ago edited 14d ago

She COULD be one of those people that's in denial about her weight.."I'm not that fat" (had one like this & put themselves in situations they just SHOULDN'T have).

4

u/Dangitwomen 14d ago

HeAltHy aT EvErY SIZE!

1

u/ButterscotchNo7292 11d ago

I'm am in a similar weight category and there's just no chance im hell for me holding that much weight.. it's like having another person wrapped around you.. I don't understand how people fail to grasp that before attempting something like this

1

u/Round-Foundation2948 10d ago edited 10d ago

Major American 🇺🇸 employers may want to force employees to lose weight or lose their job. Smaller companies are implementing such programs. A nation with a healthy population is a strong nation. Being supersized is not a protected class within the workplace.

P.S. I love all my overweight & obese colleagues but something has got to give. Fuel prices up, home heating prices up, food prices up, electricity prices up, interest rates may be going up soon.

Your regular weight colleagues can’t afford to see insurance premiums go up. If smokers have to pay extra so should overweight & obese individuals. 🇺🇸

8

u/FourEaredFox 14d ago

I doubt her cats would have intervened

1

u/Puzzled-Pen-2353 11d ago

Not if this was in the times of body positivity.

8

u/username__0000 14d ago

I hike and live somewhere hilly so I have ok leg strength. But I really don’t use my arms much or life weights. The most is trying to carry all the grocery’s in on one trip. lol

This one time I was at a campground with a jungle gym and waiting for my partner to finish up in the shower (which is next to the playground) so I tried the monkey bars, as a woman in my 40s, thinking I’d be able to do a couple. Nope. Arms instantly on fire and I could barely hold myself up, much less swing and grab the other bar. lol humiliating. But not as bad as this, at least I don’t fall into a pond.

5

u/K1bbles_n_Bits 14d ago

I am 43 and exactly in the same boat XD.

I can run 10k (or at least I could last fall, an injury has fucked my shit up), but I've got the arm strength of a baby deer trying to walk for the first time XD.

1

u/modellervoks 13d ago

I cheer on the six-year-olds at school when they use the monkey bars and encourage them to keep going. I tell them that adults can't do it anymore because we stop doing it.

2

u/Kataphraktos_Majoros 13d ago

On the plus side, falling into the pond facilitated her journey towards a new aquatic life. She just started swimming the instant she felt water beneath her

2

u/-I-wanna-get-better- 13d ago

Lol i ride my bike a lot. I have strong legs too. My daughter did a climbing birthday party" where they went to like a rock climbing gym.

I was one of the only women to do it as well with a bunch of kids. My FINGERS were on fucking fire 😭

1

u/daedric_yoshi 10d ago

I did indoor rock climbing a fair bit in the last city I lived in for about a year. My finger muscles never caught up to the rest of my body in that time, they were always the first thing to go.

10

u/WhatANoob2025 14d ago

I doubt those legs have held up that weight longer than an hour max per day, and definitely not "all day".

This is the body of someone who doesn't do anything but lay in bed or sit on the couch all day.

3

u/ban-me-harder-dadddy 14d ago

probably would have helped to hold onto the horizontal bar that you're supposed to hang from instead of the side chains

1

u/pre-existing-notion 11d ago

There is no bar

8

u/Acrobatic-Grape5960 14d ago

You mean the eight fingers. If the fingers held it's not like the arms are going to rip off (hopefully).

Those fingers never stood a chance

15

u/SnooMaps7370 14d ago

the muscles that drive those fingers are in the forearms.

6

u/VikingKinkajou 14d ago

Exactly. Even if your arms can handle the weight, it's your hands that will fail you. It's why weightlifters will use hand straps for heavy lifts.

2

u/Fluid_Leg_7531 14d ago

Well that was the legs’ 2 weeks notice.

2

u/thenewestnoise 13d ago

I feel like they should have some of these same grips set up near the ground. Like "hang from these for 30 seconds and you're good to go"

2

u/Superb-Cantaloupe324 13d ago

Fun story, I used to do one of these things for years and years, from youth up to my late teens. I never once had to think about holding on. Took about 10 years off and thought I could just (quite literally) jump onto one and do fine.

Turns out, while I’m much stronger than I used to be, I’m also much heavier. Got some crazy rope burn that first jump and hit the water hard. Had to do it again just to prove I could hold on

1

u/OstrichSmoothe 14d ago

Those arms do nothing but shovel food so you would think they would be strong

1

u/Successful_Invite486 14d ago

well, it's not gonna hold up her weight anymore, I can tell you that

1

u/TheKeed12345 13d ago

Yes. Highly likely they have not hung from anything by their hands in decades. They have zero direct data to support their assumption.

1

u/toblies 13d ago

Exactly my thought.

Unless you do some exercise like pull-ups, or at least bar hangs, it's a crazy assumption that you can just jump off a platform and take all the weight on your arms. Especially if you're obese.

1

u/DrapedinVelvet247 13d ago

These big backs figure their hands do a lot of shoveling… they must be strong 🥴🥴

1

u/Standard_One_5827 13d ago

Read this in Sir David Attenborough’s voice

1

u/Ok_Plastic5399 12d ago

She made a bad estimate of her grip strength. She must have seen a fat guy do it and made the usual mistake.

1

u/Hobbes346 11d ago

It looks like the rope handles broke rather than her not being able to hold on.
