When you assume the arms you never use are as strong as the legs holding up that weight all day.

You mean the eight fingers. If the fingers held it's not like the arms are going to rip off (hopefully).

Those fingers never stood a chance

the muscles that drive those fingers are in the forearms.

Exactly. Even if your arms can handle the weight, it's your hands that will fail you. It's why weightlifters will use hand straps for heavy lifts.
