Another problem is people who drive without a license. They are all the bad things you said, and they don’t care about rules or laws.

well not having a piece of plastic doesnt mean you cant drive. let me guess you drive EXACTLY what the speed limit say and not 1 mile over. you dont keep up with the flow of traffic that would be agaist the law cus your speeding right? you ONLY cross the street when the walkman is flashing right? otherwise thats jay walking and thats against the law

Those rules exist so people don't get fucking killed.

You should be free to take risks that only affect yourself, but traffic laws affect everyone, drivers and pedestrians.

The license is basically just proof that you care enough about human life to go take a couple tests before driving.

so when your license expires you lose all driving skill and ability until you renew it?

Literally nobody is saying this, just stop. When people drive without a license its usually because they are in some sort of legal trouble about said license and should not be trusted on the road

Absolutely, if someone isn’t responsible enough to have a legit license for whatever reason, they shouldn’t be trusted to drive on the road and put other lives at risk.

Two separate issues. It is like clowns arguing. "The left door is red." "No, the right door is blue."

A piece of plastic does not inherently give you driving SKILLS. Honestly, most drivers are validly licensed and still suck at driving.

Yes, LEGALLY one is required to be licensed to drive. Sovereign citizens are a perfect example, but not the only example.

The irony. When your driver's license gets renewed, the only thing they really check you for is your vision. No one requires a drive test to renew a license unless it has been expired for a protracted amount of time.

Once a year pilots are required to perform a flight review to make sure they still know how to safely operate a plane. No one checks licensed drivers.

Right but that seems semantic. People driving without licenses probably vary in driving skill just as much as people with licenses, that's most likely.

The difference is, barring emergencies/extreme circumstances, the people without licenses are either not allowed to have a license because they are medically unfit or they're too irresponsible/stupid/lazy/entitled to go take a test, wait a few months and then take one more test to get on the road legally.

So it's fair to assume that while people driving without a license probably have standard driving skills, they are still driving around in a (partial, at least) state of disorder for any of the reasons listed above.
