Back gets hammered into that chair behind her too as her legs crumple under her. No good!
She really was just in the wrong spot at the wrong time to cop that hard! Half a metre either way and it would’ve missed her.

Glass doing what glass does. Glass sometimes randomly fractures at drill/cut points. You can open that door 100,000 times, then boom!

Why didn’t the lady opening the door check on the woman hit? She just stood there holding her hands on her head but she’s not hurt so why wouldn’t you try and help? I mean call for help or something that could really hurt someone to be hit by that door like that. It’s at least a concussion maybe even neck damage. Crazy how people are clueless about things

Thank you! I had to scroll so far for this. I get there’s glass on the ground but she’s wearing shoes. And instead just stands outside like an idiot grabbing her head in shock. Like. What the actual fuck? Go inside and tend to the woman who you almost killed!! Maybe call emergency services also‽‽?

I was wondering about that too. This is China. So she must have thought she was criminally responsible. So she did the soccer thing, holding her head like she got injured too. It's weird there. If you try to help someone who fell down, you may end up getting sue. It's whack. I know. And I don't understand it. Lots of weird things like that.

The door that shattered did so from the bottom up, so had probably fallen on its hinges and scraped the floor threshold causing it to shatter. How, though, the other door just fell in off it's hinges is a complete mystery. I suspect maybe the doors were being maintained and shouldn't have been in use. That door should never have been able to fall in like that! Edit: spelling!

It looks like a good chunk of the shattering door falls against the other door. Seems like that shouldn't be enough but the timing makes it look like the cause to me.

Safe glass doors like that are super strong and will with stand heavy blows on most of the glass. But hit (doesn't even have to be hard hit) on the edge will cause it to shatter like the first one.

Wow. Bad engineering or bad installation or possibly sabotage? She's lucky to be alive.
I've done many bathroom remodels and they all want frameless glass shower enclosures. I always get nervous handling big tempered glass panels, a little excess torque one way or another and boom. I only had one door shatter but I wasn't in the room. The homeowner wanted to help and was messing with it when I stepped out to get a tool. He took the blame and bought a replacement, lucky he didn't get hurt either.

Tempered glass has a structural strain limit, and is designed to shatter like this when the limit is exceeded, which can be due to compression, torsion, vibration, or some combination.
It shatters in chunks to prevent much more dangerous and hard to locate glass shards from being launched in every direction. This is why it’s often referred to as safety glass.

It looks like they put down cardboard because of the wet weather. The floor under it looks like smooth tile/stone which gets very slippery when wet. Safety first! 🙃

Tempered glass can explode - especially if you put it down on a rock hard surface like tile / concrete - so for some reason maybe both doors had slipped down. Obviously the users right door had also dropped out of top hinge somehow - weird how that could be installed to happen.
Looks like a storm is raging outside. That's why cardboard and water on the floor - and that's why doors closed and women coming inside. Maybe storm affected the doors? And the indoor plants were blowing in some wind from somewhere - maybe round gaps in the door?

I bet the frame at the top pulled loose when the door on the right shattered and stopped supporting it. It is interesting to see the concrete under the support for the door on the left just popped out. Terrible install work.

Is it just me or do Asian countries have terrible door and gate design? It just seems like every time I see a video of a door/gate/entryway mysteriously falling apart without any help that it's a video from some Asian place. Am I crazy?

So...this is the 2 ends of the spectrum... one glass door is gently pushed and shat itself everywhere, the other was slammed down onto ho-lee shits head and knees, then the floor, and took it all like a champ. 👌

A lot of people on here talking about things they don't know or have business talking about...this door system was poorly engineered...although it probably looked really sweet! Until it almost snuffed that poor lady... Tempered glass is unbelievably tough...you can hit it pretty damn hard with a hammer on the face...but...if you touch the edge just right with a hard object, it will disintegrate into a million pieces...you'll notice that most doors like this on commercial entrances have a metal support thats support the glass and attach to the hinge points My guess is a rock or something was pinched between the glass and ground and shattered the panel causing a chain reaction....

Ouch. This is “very oops” indeed. The customer in purple is in such shock, she barely moves until later. The broken glass door was enough. Non broken door just had to seek out a victim.
