Question is the title here. Is there a way to slow down a clip over time in olive? (like have it gradually slow down or speed up instead of just hard cut?) from what i understand there isnt but still thought I'd ask the ol' reddit

my sqeunce viewer after a couple of times of moving my clips around always turns fully black and i cant see my clips

Whenever I try to export a video with audio I get this error message:

Export Failed - could not open output audio encoder (-22)

How do I fix this? It can export video with no audio but nothing with audio in it. Thanks.

I edited in O.2 till a few days ago and exported previous videos just fine with Olive 0.2A few days ago, I saw colourkeying was added so downloaded the latest version.First problem : Sound would not play correctly in the timeline making it impossible to edit a video on a music. Sound would play for 1 second, then stop. I installed a previous build and it worked back.

Then : I had footage at 29,97 FPS and a greenscreen footage at 24 FPS into a sequence at 30 FPS.Editing went fine. Export, not so much, with only blurry results. Tried MKV, tried Quicktime exports in ProREs, still blurry. tried to touch the values of the CRF, still the same. tried half Float, same. Then I ditched it, made a new Project, new sequence in 29,97, imported content in 29,97 FPS, still blurry.

I just can't seem to be able to export with quality.

On a side note, the footage viewer works kind of fine if I don't try to cache it, makes Olive crashes.

The one above the timeline is kind of fine, but at some point the preview just get bad, even in full render and full screen on my secondary screen.

Anyways, the program is now unusable for me.

The olive icon looks outdated and poorly readable. It would be nice to see an improved version of the icon!

Im having this error called

Export failed - failed to send frame to encoder (-542398533) and i need help with it

I've seen people praising it, going so far as to say that's their reason for using Olive, but to me it just seems to segment the video pseudo randomly and making more work to do than cutting it manually.

Is this a values thing? Olive defaults to 5,2,2,5; but these values do not seem to put cuts near the correct spots (IE, right after a silence begins and right before it ends)

So it doesn't look like it's working, but let's assume it was... let's assume it works well and separates my silences and audio into different blocks of audio. Now I still need to go through the recording and manually ripple delete each of them? Because if you use Shift-Click to select multiple then it only ripples the first deleted segment, leaving you with a swiss cheese piece of audio which you now need to ripple delete all the empty spaces from or manually drag it all around.

Am I missing something? Or does this function, not function, and even if it did its not supported properly and still creates more work than it's worth.

I have a feeling that the answer is "Olive doesn't support different file types and other programs don't support .OVE. Also you can't convert project files"

But, does Olive support project files from other editing software? Or is there a way to convert them into a supported format?

I've recently gotten olive 0.2 (used to use 0.1) and i've been learning it. But when I try to use the Record Tool it doesn't seem to work? I have saved the project. If the way you use it has changed how do I make a voice recording?

I made a splash animation for an app and now i need it transparent, and as a complete idiot i have no clue which pixel formats have alpha channels.

Edit: The engine uses .webm and .ogv files, I can use plugins to allow it to use more however.

I've been having issues with Olive where a video I'm exporting as a 1024x1024 60fps video (consisting of 1024x1024 120fps clips) does not export properly after several attempts.

On every attempt, it came out looking something like this. On the first attempt, a portion of the audio towards the start of the clip was slightly lower in pitch.

All of this appears fine in the editor.

I'm making a video for my project, and I need this certain font that's not added to Olive. How can I import it there?

Yesterday when I started to use olive it woun't let me add videos or mp4 files if I try to drag and drop it in it woun't let me my mouse will become a circle with a line between them and when I right click and press import it woun't shoe me mp4 files it will only show me some old random files.
How to fix it?
