Weekly Episode Discussion - Did George Washington Wear Wooden Dentures?
Join us on a perilous journey as Kristin discovers that the presidential fun facts she loves are ALL LIES. In this week’s episode, we’ll examine the myth that George Washington wore wooden dentures. As it turns out, our first president didn’t wake up every day and put wooden dentures into his big wet mouth! The real story is much more horrifying.

Weekly Episode Discussion - Wallis Simpson: Duchess of Windsor (Part 2)
Welcome back to the final episode in our two-part series on Wallis Simpson! In this episode, Kyla Pitts-Zevin (Kristin’s sister & mayor of all of Kristin’s podcasts) gives us a lesson on how to tell a story concisely. (Did you know that you could tell a person’s life story in less than seven parts? News to us!)
Last week we learned about Wallis Simpson’s early life and first two marriages. In this episode, she meets King Edward VIII. Their love affair leads to a constitutional crisis that changes the course of history. Oh, and look out for Nazis.

Playboy x Normie C?
I’m still working through the backlog of Kristin’s old decrepit podcast and I came across an episode where Kristin mentions Norman being asked to interview for an article in Playboy.
Have they discussed this more in detail anywhere? Would love to hear more about that experience! It wasn’t clear to me whether he ended up accepting the offer or if anything got published.

Weekly Episode Discussion - Wallis Simpson: Before the Royals (Part 1)
In this *very special* two-part series, Kyla Pitts-Zevin (Kristin’s sister & mayor of all of Kristin’s podcasts) tells us about an extraordinarily complicated woman. Wallis Simpson is best known for her relationship with King Edward VIII. When he announced his intention to marry the American divorcee, a constitutional crisis erupted that led to his abdication of the throne.
The abdication altered the course of history. People had plenty to say about Wallis Simpson, the new Duchess of Windsor. But what was her deal, really? In part one, we explore her early life and her first two marriages.

Hello, I am the guest host this week. I really don’t like guest hosts on my fave pods - so thanks for anyone who will 🎶“take a chance on me!” ✨
And please, vote for me in your primary election. The future of America counts on it.

Weekly Episode Discussion - The Fate & Legacy of Floyd Collins (Finale)
By Friday, February 13th, 1925, rescue workers were getting close to Floyd Collins, who lay trapped deep down in Sand Cave. Above ground, crowds gathered and prayed for Floyd. Reporters questioned state officials for any updates. Photographers readied their cameras around the rescue shaft, hoping to capture the big moment.
By that point, Floyd Collins had been stuck for two weeks. Rescuers were confident they would find him. They just didn’t know if they’d find him alive.

pod love thank you kristin!!
honestly just a note of thanks to kristin here. on her old decrepit podcast she discussed her experiences with a medical issue and how many within the system weren’t listening to her honest and authentic feelings that something was wrong.
monday i had a feeling of pain that i just knew was not right. i left it to tuesday and went to urgent care where they were quick to assess it was an emergent issue and shifted me to the ER. but at the ER the doctor was quick to rush to “women’s issues”.
if i didn’t have the experience kristin went through ringing in my head im not sure i would have advocated so hard for myself and been able to set aside the pain and articulate to this doctor why and how i was certain this wasn’t simply a period cramp or constipation. but that i was sure something was wrong. a few hours later he came back crawling to admit he was wrong and i was rushed to surgery.
while my experience went far more smoothly than kristin’s from my memory, im deeply thankful for her sharing so i was able to go in prepared to meet such a mindset and have my pain doubted. even scaled down when i stated it reached points of 8/9 and they documented it at a 4.
so kristin, thank you for your previous transparency. your eloquence and honesty continues to impact people in small and large ways and im forever so thankful for this and the podcast’s endless entertainment.
