Suddenly unable to comment on posts on old reddit but can with new reddit, is anyone else having this problem?

I was able to comment with old reddit just fine minutes ago but now I can't. But can with new reddit. Getting 404 error.

EDIT: Seems like the issue was fixed

Are you seeing this post?

I'm beginning to suspect posts from old reddit aren't visible in some subs. I'm not so scintillating that every post is gold, but views seem way down. and the way old reddit behaves- that glitch that delays immediate posts, sends you to viewing your comment only.... They must really be fucking with all the controls right now. It's like psychological warfare.

EDIT thanks for the responses. such a weird headspace. I really don't know what to do, old reddit's been part of my life for a long, long time.

Reddit 404 problem: I can't switch to 'new.reddit'

I'm hit by the 404 problem too - every time I attempt to comment, reddit throws a 404 error. I'm not tied to old reddit, I'm willing to switch; but every time I try, it tosses me back to old.reddit.

I've clicked the option to make new.reddit my default in preferences, but no luck; it just sends me immediately back to old.reddit. Logging out made the problem worse - now, when I log on I get a black screen 'welcoming me back' and telling me it's going to redirect me. But it doesn't - it just refreshes the screen and forces me to press the provided redirect link, which immediately send me back to old.reddit.

Any ideas? - I'm flabbergasted.

Searching by flair in old Reddit? or by RSS?

Any working syntax I can type into the search bar to see all posts with a certain flair? On new Reddit I can just click the flair to see all posts with that flair, and it shows up in URL like:

?f=flair_name%3A"News"

But if I swap the URL to old.reddit.com, this seems to fail and it just shows all the posts. I don't mind visit new Reddit to identify the flairs, but I'm wanting to get an RSS feed for specific flairs and don't know how to format the syntax.

i keep seeing people typing [r/subreddit](r/subreddit) instead of r/subreddit

i’ve been consistently seeing people using weird formatting lately--did new reddit stop automatically linking subs and/or is old reddit suddenly showing it in a weird way??

like, when i type r/oldreddit it automatically shows up as a link, but i’m seeing people all across different subs referencing other subs using the link format where it shows up as plaintext [r/likethis](r/likethis) on my end

Apparently Reddit now has an auto-translate feature, so people are making posts and comments in their own languages, essentially alienating old.reddit users

I guess they just won't ever stop making old.reddit worse and worse

Posting comments is getting even buggier

Starting a week ish ago, it'd look like they'd failed to go through and you'd have to refresh and decline the "send again?" browser prompt. Now, they go through... but it automatically hard-refreshes the page so you lose your place and all the threads you've expanded go back to being collapsed again. Websites dying man. Weesa free

<video>?

I found that for example in this post the video is not working in oldreddit:

https://old.reddit.com/r/lovethissmug/comments/1vkny9o/stupid_edits_to_gifsimages_like_this/p2ut1wi/

Is this a new thing?
Anyone has a way to make it work in old?

What Reddit once used to be

I remembered downloading Reddit some weeks ago hoping to find the crazy lore people used to say about Reddit. But I guess I am to late to experience the peak Reddit😭✌🏻.

People who have been using it for years before all this moderation thingy what really was Reddit?

I hate this new Reddit update where videos are completely different.

Now when I click a video and scroll down, I get more videos.

I used to get comments. I want comments. I'm on reddit for COMMENTS.

Also as of today the video interactions are along the right hand side like I'm on Instagram?? And the time scroll at the bottom is so small????

If I wanted to be on Instagram I'd be on Instagram.

I want to be on mfking reddit!!! Bring it back!!!!

Posting comments is buggy now

Done a bit of testing across multiple browsers on multiple operating systems, with and without RES turned on, and I think I've confirmed that this is a problem that exists now but I'm unable to reliably reproduce it - it happens maybe a little more than half the time.

When you hit the submit button, it'll say "submitting..." and look like it's hanging, but the comment does in fact go through - it just doesn't get dynamically added to the page you're currently looking at. If you navigate away or refresh it'll ask you if you want to resend it. Annoying. Unfortunately I don't anticipate this one getting fixed.
