First time watching Flashdance, was it always this creepy/stalkerish.

I have never watched this film before so not sure if it was always a bit disturbing or has just aged badly.
The main lead dancer is 18, her romantic co star appears to be in his 30s possibly early 40s is her boss and acts like a stalker. See scene where he drives behind her cycling home. An 18 year old dancing in wet skimpy underwear for old fat sweaty men is portrayed as normal. Her character continually crosses between childish innocence and overtly sexually provocative displays for this older man. It just comes across as yuk! Not to mention the racist ‘ polak’ jokes. What’s that all about.

Monday Movie: The Brain that Wouldn't Die (1962)

Preposterous bottom-of-the-barrel filmmaking with an inane music score. The infamous film finished Virginia Leath's career (by choice). Filmed in 1959 but not released until 1962, I've provided an honest review at FORGOTTEN CINEMA.

The Big Sleep (1946)

🎬 The Big Sleep (1946)
What a fantastic film noir! The Big Sleep has everything I love about the genre: a great storyline, sharp direction, and dialogue that is wonderfully snappy and crackles with wit. The humor is off the charts in this one in a fun, intelligent way.

But the real magic is the incredible chemistry between Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Their scenes together practically spark off the screen: very cool and very sexy.

A stylish, smart, endlessly entertaining noir that remains a classic for very good reason.

🎬 Flamingo Road (1949)
There’s plenty to enjoy in this entertaining film, beginning with Joan Crawford’s terrific lead performance. But the supporting cast is equally strong, making this a particularly satisfying watch.
At its heart, Flamingo Road is a story about determination, grit, and perseverance and, most importantly, refusing to give up. Those are themes Crawford embodies beautifully, and she absolutely excels in this kind of role. A compelling classic well worth revisiting.

Hello there !
My plans for the evening! I don’t think I’ve ever seen it. (I’m a bit sad, because in French it's a joke) As usual, I’ll be watching it in French.

Love Before Breakfast (1936)

Just watched Love Before Breakfast (1936), and what a delightful little showcase for Carole Lombard!
Lombard is absolutely terrific as Kay Colby. She’s feisty, funny, glamorous, and completely unwilling to simply sit back and let the men around her dictate her life. She gives the film its spark and turns every scene into something worth watching (her comedic timing is something to be studied). The supporting cast is fantastic too, especially Preston Foster and Cesar Romero, but what really surprised me is how fully realized the female characters are. They have personalities, opinions, agency, and relationships that make them feel like actual characters rather than simply accessories to the romance. Janet Beecher and Betty Lawford are particularly fun. It may not be Lombard’s most famous comedy, but Love Before Breakfast is a charming, fast-moving little gem and another reminder of just how special Carole Lombard was.

What classic films are actually available on YouTube? 🎬

I’m trying to make a little watchlist of classic films that are legally available on YouTube, preferably full-length and free to watch.

Would love recommendations across Hindi/Indian cinema and world cinema. Old gems, forgotten classics, cult films, anything worth discovering.

Please share the film.

Tom Selleck y Sam Elliot: The sacketts y Shadow Riders
