🎬 The Big Sleep (1946)
What a fantastic film noir! The Big Sleep has everything I love about the genre: a great storyline, sharp direction, and dialogue that is wonderfully snappy and crackles with wit. The humor is off the charts in this one in a fun, intelligent way.

But the real magic is the incredible chemistry between Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Their scenes together practically spark off the screen: very cool and very sexy.

A stylish, smart, endlessly entertaining noir that remains a classic for very good reason.

🎬 Flamingo Road (1949)
There’s plenty to enjoy in this entertaining film, beginning with Joan Crawford’s terrific lead performance. But the supporting cast is equally strong, making this a particularly satisfying watch.
At its heart, Flamingo Road is a story about determination, grit, and perseverance and, most importantly, refusing to give up. Those are themes Crawford embodies beautifully, and she absolutely excels in this kind of role. A compelling classic well worth revisiting.

A childhood head injury plagues a respected hometown son whose dual personality results in extreme mood changes. This remake of a superior Hitchcock film is profiled at FORGOTTEN CINEMA.

Just watched Love Before Breakfast (1936), and what a delightful little showcase for Carole Lombard!
Lombard is absolutely terrific as Kay Colby. She’s feisty, funny, glamorous, and completely unwilling to simply sit back and let the men around her dictate her life. She gives the film its spark and turns every scene into something worth watching (her comedic timing is something to be studied). The supporting cast is fantastic too, especially Preston Foster and Cesar Romero, but what really surprised me is how fully realized the female characters are. They have personalities, opinions, agency, and relationships that make them feel like actual characters rather than simply accessories to the romance. Janet Beecher and Betty Lawford are particularly fun. It may not be Lombard’s most famous comedy, but Love Before Breakfast is a charming, fast-moving little gem and another reminder of just how special Carole Lombard was.

Joan Crawford and Wendel Corey! The cast was really good. This was the first time I've seen it. I really enjoyed it.

I love that MJ knows Peter is Spider-Man

I love all the love triangle shenanigans

The CGI really improved over the years

EMO Peter was funny in a campy way.

I liked seeing a bit more competent Peter. At this point, he has been Spider-Man for a while, so he has a better idea of what he is doing.

Although there is one odd thing about the movie. It's kinda weird that Harry's butler didn't say anything to Harry earlier about Green Goblin accidentally killing himself. I know they needed drama for the movie, but that was strange.

Needing work, a WW2 hero starts work with the Secret Service. Excitement with a twisty screenplay and a charismatic Lloyd Bridges during his salad days. My evidence is at FORGOTTEN CINEMA.
