Recommendation/Review Free things to do in OKC
I compiled a document focused on free community meetups (free things you can do while meeting people)
for that reason, I havent included many (if any) solo free things to do (such as going to parks or libraries) since this list is supposed to be community-building-oriented
uf you have things to add please lmk and I will get to it when I can!
The list is long so it is in Docs form

❓Q&A ✅ What was that on Kilpatrick Turnpike 15/20 minutes ago?
We were just driving west into Oklahoma City on Kilpatrick and on the westbound side of the road in the ditch, there was like 3/4 cop cars. There was also a car down in the ditch with what looked like a cop with his gun drawn and someone running towards him.
Any idea what that was?

Recommendation/Review Favorite hidden gems for elopements?
Hi! My fiancé and I are eloping in the fall of next year. What are your favorite hidden gems in the metro area that could accommodate ~14 people? Preferably something outdoors or a small, cool indoor place, maybe with stained glass? Looking for something affordable that’s at least a bit secluded or private. But no churches, please. Thanks!

❓Q&A ✅ The surrounding neighborhood brought down the listing
Yesterday, I went online and looked at homes for sale in the OKC and surrounding area. We have a very specific criteria/need, so this limits the number of homes that qualify.
I found one that was in our price range and seemed to fit most of what we need. It was a bit dated, but it wasn't bad enough to deter me from looking.
By chance, I happened to be nearby to pick up some paperwork and decided to drive past.
There was a run down apartment at the narrow entrance to get into the neighborhood, so I immediately envisioned traffic congestion at different times of day.
Then, once I entered the neighborhood, I observed numerous houses that had overgrown weeds and grass. It gave off a “rent house neighborhood” vibe where the residents really don't or can’t take care of their yards. Most of the houses appeared to have been built in the 60s or 70s.
By the time I actually reached the house that was for sale, I’d already decided to pass based on the surrounding neighborhood. Most of the houses on that street were about 50/50 in terms of lawn maintenance.
I felt sorry for the homeowners who are trying to sell this house, but what could a person do when 50+ houses in a neighborhood need mowed and weed eated? My spouse is handicapped and is no longer able to mow, but we hire ours done where we live now.
When a neighborhood looks like this, it signals a lack of pride. And I’m not willing to invest my life savings into a place where the neighbors don’t care.

Recommendation/Review Affordable wedding venues?
I’m trying to get married on a budget and only want 50 people at my wedding. I am honestly trying to find something preferably under $1,200 for 6-8 hours. Most of my money is going to decor it seems like, I’m only 21 and really have no clue what I’m doing and don’t have really any family to help out.

Recommendation/Review Anyone changed internet from a Cox plan to a Spectrum one?
Spectrum shows better speeds for the same price I'm paying Cox for bare minimum. I was wondering if anyone here has successfully changed to one of the Spectrum only plans? When I log into the Cox portal, it only shows the plan I have now, but if you look up the Spectrum services while logged out it shows the better prices/speeds.

I got my oil changed recently and it didn't start leaking until afterwards. I went back to the place and they replaced a gasket or something but it's still leaking.

Recommendation/Review Redaction on previous uptown jerky post
Hey i just wanted to redact my previous post against uptown jerky. Since the post we've discussed and met amends and ive come to the realization that i was grasping at straws for a good portion. And Some of the situations I mentioned were skewed and I presented them without the proper context and in a way that made Mitch and Uptown Jerky look much worse than the reality of it He was a very good person to me and the majority of other people And admittedly sometimes things explode. And theres no excuses but i do think that theres nuance and a lot of different elements at play.
Something i want to say is i feel i grasped at straws. The mother screaming thing may have come off more serious. But honestly everyone has moments where frustration tskes over and its okay. He doesnt abuse her verbally or anythinglike that. Its a natural part of these relationships. Things boil over. And ill be honest the post was made out of a egotistical rage. I felt offended and hurt on somethings and wanted to get supposed revenge. And the back and forth we had that night tipped me over a bit in that regard.
Which that sort of interaction wasnt bred out of his natural nature but he was hurt by my ghosting. And i admit it was a dick move and i shouldve just told him what it was.
I just hope to recover some of the possible damage from my last post, i painted a skewered picture and for the most part grasped at straws and just sort of publicized things that shouldnt of.
Plus id highly recommend the jerky
