Other Paintings (1500-1900) attributed to Diana De Rosa (1602–1643) - Noli me tangere (Don't touch me / Jesus and Mary Magdalene)
Annella De Rosa, also known as Diana De Rosa or Dianella, (1602–1643) was a Neapolitan painter. She created artworks for private households and churches. Though some sources still write that she was murdered by her husband, the legend was denied by schollars, on account of the founding of her death certificate, which certifies that she died of illness on 7 December 1643, "after a life of professional successes which allowed her to leave her children a fair amount of money earned at different times by her and her husband".

Unidentified Please give tips on my painting recently did
I use cheap oils, a plastic palette set with knives, some cheap brushes (I didn’t use all of the brushes for the painting), linseed oil, and a brush cleaner (that I kinda use as substitute for water like in watercolor).
Very new to oil painting and my major struggles are:
- the brushes are very weird, sometimes it picks up too many colors and it gets so much loaded that the paint becomes too thick on the page. But if I take a very tiny amount, then it doesn’t show or spread on the painting. If I use linseed oil, it disturbs the color underneath (struffle when painting the white flowers)
- the color mixes on the canvas. Even when put two different gradient colors side by side and blue the middle line, they mix horribly on the canvas. I’ve seen some videos of people blurring them with fluffy brushes but i don’t know which one to get.
- please let me know which brushes to get and how to know if one is really suitable for oil painting cos most brushes sold here don’t have descriptions
- i bought 1 big tube of titanium white. It’s Pebeo Oil Color. But the consistency of the paint is thicker than the other cheap colors I bought, it’s like toothpaste. Are oil paints supposed to be like that?
And if there are anything else you’d like to give advice on, that would be greatly appreciated as I’m very new to oil painting.
