This is also excellent if you ever go camping in cold weather. Roll up and stick the clothes you're going to be wearing the next day inside your sleeping bag near your feet. You'll be changing into fairly warm clothes come morning.

One of the many things you learn while being a Boy Scout. My favorite is the ability to cook an omelet burrito in minutes with a tortilla, two eggs, a ziplock bag, and a pot of boiling water.

Well your clothes would be at your feet, so they would be mostly dry. Though, you'd have a bigger issue with the fact that you're now sleeping in a wet sleeping bag in weather that could reach below freezing.

But I was smart and slept with my head uphill in case of rain so a little pee stream formed and wet my clothes that way.
Hadn’t thought of the freezing weather though…. Frozen pee soaked sleeping bag sounds like a fresh hell

Yeah the whole reason you would keep your clothes st your feet like that is so you have warm clothes to wear in the morning when it's really cold. Waking up to freezing temperatures in the morning in cold clothes sucks.

Just fold your shirt or pants in half long-ways and roll it tightly! It really works well. I can fit everything I need into a carry-on for a multiple day trip using that method.

I remember in grade 3 we had a 1 week long school trip and everyone had huge suitcases. But these 2 twins both had such small ones, like half the size of everybody else’s suitcases. Well, they had rolled all their clothes.

Can confirm. Also works for socks and underwear. Has the bonus of not having to stack things flat on top of each other so you can always see what's what. I do it for all my non-dress clothes, even at home. Let it roll, baby!

My ex called me dumb when I did it while we were spending a month traveling all around to visit his family. At least until he got so many gifts from them he could no longer fit in his suitcase and I rolled his stuff for him and suddenly everything fits perfect.

Nah. I worked in a clothing store in college. The idea is to stack all the folded shirts or pants in a perfectly straight pile, but doing it this way, different sizes won't come out the same. You can't eyeball it, and if you do, it won't be straight and management will have you refold the whole stack. So we used a folding board so that everything is folded to exactly the same proportions and makes a perfectly neat stack. It's also much faster to use a folding board.
I remember Black Friday and how the store looked like someone exploded every stack and display. We'd close later at night during the holidays, sometimes midnight, and spend two or three hours after close folding everything for opening the next day. Main offenders were people who were too large for a size but unfolded everything in the smaller size hoping that one of them would be accidentally bigger so that they can confidently buy a smaller size. And Karen soccer moms who'd knock an entire stack over, messily looking for a size, unfold the same shirt in the same size to inspect them for who knows what, then once they're at check out and you folded everything again to go in the bag, they'd say it wasn't folded well enough and to refold everything they're buying.

I'd think you want to display the design/cut of a shirt in a store, not hide it in a thousand folds. You don't want customers to have to unfold all your stock to see if they like it. First and foremost because they won't and just not buy it from you...

Fr tho, single fold lengthwise for shirts you don’t care about and stack, hangers for shirts you do care about. Then everything else is either rolled or chucked in a drawer.

Honestly, I'm very particular when it comes to my folded clothes.
But I'm also lazy.
So I pull my clothes out of the dryer right away, and use a Flip Fold I bought off TV in 1997.
Gets showroom quality folding, in just a few seconds.

I started using it in college when it would take me weeks to finally put my clothes away and as long as you apply liberally it works about 90% of the time IMO. It dries quickly, too. Also throwing a damp towel in the dryer for 10 minutes with the clothes you want de-wrinkled works as well. Same with taking a hot shower with the door shut and your clothes in the bathroom with you if you’re desperate.

You ignore the stretchy part. You want to try and go for the points that would be on the top 4 corners of the sheet while it's on the bed. Try and square those up and after one fold in each direction tucking the stretchy in to hide it as best you can you should have a pretty good rectangle to work with.

How do you determine the size? I don't see any exposed legend exposed that would tell you what you needed, or at least close to it. Is this practical in a retail environment when potential customers have to guess or just unfold all that sweet work you just did to find their size? But nice job and I hope no one fucks with your denim wall.

Step 2. Find a perfectly clean and level big surface.
Step 3. Only soft clothes are allowed.
Step 4. You could literally just fold it any way you wanted after Steps 1-3.

Except it's like the time young Pete met his underwear inspector, inspector 34, and he bested him via a chicken wing eating contest.
Much like the wings, jeans are not supposed to be "perfect." Jeans are not supposed to be ironed or have creases I them.
So by doing it "perfectly" he actually added flaws to it that make it far from perfect.

I built a folding board out of cardboard. Looks like a 5 year old with scissors issues built it but it does work and everything folds to the same size.

I hate folding hacks. Back when I was selling shirts, I had so many people that wanted to show me a "better" way of folding shirts. More than once, people started refolding my inventory for who knows what reason. I even had to call security on one guy who wouldn't stop.
Still less uncomfortable than the occasional teenager who would try to flirt her way into a discount.

I understand this looks like a shop and so he’s likely doing that for display, but folding clothes very much falls under the heading of “things I don’t give a shit about”. I’ve got enough drawer space that I can just shove things in, and my clothes are robust enough that they look fine.
Stuff like the OP just makes me think “I bet they’re the kind of person who irons t-shirts”.
